The lord on an island reef that rules over the sharks, protects them and their home, and they bring forth any who trespass into his waters. Maybe he's like a nicer version of Shark Boy. You're a survivor of a shipwreck, and the sharks bring you to his shores. He brings you into his beach home, takes care of you and you grow on each other.
