Spoof-a-thon Update!

I'm still working my way through the Super Spoof Megalist. As you can see I've made a couple of alterations, dropping certain movies in favour of others for example.
What do I think of them so far? Here's my (sometimes short, sometimes long) review for every movie I've seen so far!
- The Little Train Robbery - Probably a funnier idea on paper
- The Great Dictator - Fantastic moments, INCREDIBLY LONG, beautiful ending
- Carry On Spying - Raunchiness feels dated but it has its moments
- Young Frankenstein - Starts strong but gradually starts to get muddled between parody of the source material & a straight-up remake of it (which maybe in of itself is a joke?)
- The Big Bus - A plane disaster movie but on a bus, never really hits potential but laid the groundwork for Airplane
- Kentucky Fried Movie - Basically a sketch show but movie length, with some hits and even more tits. Also has a white guy yell the n-word at some black people sooooo big fucking yikes.
- Life Of Brian - Undeniable classic but despite its controversy it's largely toothless, mainly targeting blind faith than religion or dictatorship specifically
- Wholly Moses - A poor attempt to do a "Life Of Brian" with Moses. Constant anti-climaxes and scenes that don't go anywhere, a mess that never commits to any one idea.
- Airplane! - A comedy masterpiece, it has dud and dated moments for sure, but overshadowed by the sheer volume of brilliant gags
- Dead Man Don't Wear Plaid - A loving tribute to classic cinema but does very little to commentate upon or subvert the genre. Even the USP of the splicing with old footage was done minimally
- Police Squad! - A hilarious TV series criminally cancelled after just 6 episodes, but paved the way for Naked Gun
- Top Secret - Some big laughs but spaced apart by a cumbersome plot that never really felt like it ever got going
- When Nature Calls - Effectively a sketch show movie like Kentucky Fried Movie, leaning more on the B-Movie angle. Has it's moments but relies too heavily on outrage. But it's also the only movie I've ever seen with a love scene between a girl and a bear.
- Whoops Apocalypse - Heavily satirical with a British Alternative Comedy angle, so in other words, a mixed bag
- Spaceballs - A chore of a movie, leaning on dick jokes and meta humour too often, but at least attempts to tell an actual love story and a Star Wars parody with reverence
- The Naked Gun: From the Files of Police Squad! - Tons of funny one-liners and comedy moments but a clear departure of the standard spoof format from deadpan absurdism to the idiot hero
- UHF - A sweet & endearing tale of an optimistic loser with flights of fancy. It's a bit of a muddled mess though.
- The Naked Gun 2½: The Smell of Fear - Just as funny as Naked Gun 1, not much of a departure from the formula apart from more characters becoming comedic idiots
- Hot Shots - Way WAY better than I remembered it, frankly a return to form on the spoof genre. The plot and jokes are evenly spaced out enough so one doesn't overtake the other so the pacing flows smoothly. A joy to rewatch.
- Loaded Weapon 1 = Enjoyable with big laugh moments but leans too heavily on pop culture references & cameos and predictable puns to be memorable
- Last Action Hero - A departure from the planned list of movies but it acts as a meta-contextual spoof of action movies & Arnie himself, makes for a really fun movie!
- Men In Tights - Another new addition (and frequently requested), it continues Mel Brook's use of meta jokes, silly names and puns. Largely harmless and light hearted.
- Hot Shots Part Deux - A fun and funny sequel but with a noticeable tonal shift to more goofy, crass and pop-culture humour than the first.
- Naked Gun 33⅓: The Final Insult - Many hilarious moments, but has a greater emphasis on slapstick, sex jokes, pop culture references and frankly a lot of toxic masculinity with no commentary on it. Also uses a "chick with a dick" punchline as a massive EWW VOMIT!! moment which has not aged well.
- Don't Be a Menace to South Central While Drinking Your Juice in the Hood - Has glimmers of shrewd satire, commentary on race and fun non-sequitur beats but otherwise relies on shock, violence and gross-outs for comedy
- Spy Hard - Its almost a spoof of a spoof given how much it misses the mark. Tries to compensate for its lack of energy with pop culture references, gross out humour and non-joke one liners, which only shows contempt for the audience's intelligence. Leslie Nielsen is only able to do so much with the material provided with only Weird Al's theme song being a saving grace.
- High School High - A vastly more grounded and story driven movie which makes what few spoof elements exist feel all the more out of place.
- Austin Powers - A wonderful endearing romp that still provides big laughs and in many ways rejuvenates the spoof genre (if only for a little while)
- Wrongfully Accused - An attempt to recapture the Naked Gun glory generally misses the mark. Seemingly lacking confidence in itself, it resorts to a plot distracted with pop culture references and machine gun fire gags to actually say or subvert anything new. It has the odd moment but not a lot else.
- Galaxy Quest - Another bonus movie, its a delightful send up of classic Star Trek that while not technically a spoof, it provides subversion and commentary on the sci fi genre in a funny way.
- Scary Movie - One of the most major influences of the Spoof genre since Airplane. The humour is cruel and sadistic, which isn't out of place in a slasher parody, but elements like the portrayal of Doofy (the special ed cop) is incredibly mean spirited and stomach-churningly awkward to watch. Sex and drug references are ramped up, even more than the (non-Scream) pop culture references. Witnessing first hand how the genre wained in 90s, this was the wild raunchy bombastic shot of adrenaline it needed. While elements have definitely not aged well, I can't deny it's a game changer and still packs a punch.
- Shriek I You Know What I Did Last Friday The 13th - Even if Scary Movie hadn't come out the same year to steal its thunder, this still wouldn't have been a hit. Pace is meandering, dialogue is rambling and the pop culture references are scrambling (actually I wanna say "forced" but wanted to complete the rhyme). It does adhere to the spoof formula more faithfully and has a couple of chuckles but the end result is thoroughly underwhelming.
- Scary Movie 2 - As it was a rush job made within a year of the first film, it relies way more on gross out and pop culture jokes to fill the blanks between the bigger set pieces. However, this got some way bigger laughs from me than Scary Movie 1, so I prefer it out of the two so far.
- Not Another Teen Movie - A refreshingly accurate spoof targeting the tired tropes of high school romance movies, while still leaning into the trappings of the American Pie shock-for-comedy style with gross out moments and offensiveness. On the plus side, it also has a naked Chris Evans.
