Is Goofy A Cow?

Hey all, so lets get some Eddache updates!

Production has begun on the next video, but it took some wild turns.

For most of the month I have been looking at the back-catalogue of Jackie Chan movies. I grew up watching these films with my dad and my brother and the step ladder fight is one of my all-time favourite action scenes. So my plan for the next video was going to be an analysis of how Jackie Chan makes fight scenes. So I have been watching a lot of movies, looking at BTS footage and interviews, getting all the information together when I hit a wall. Jackie Chan in the modern day is outspokenly anti-protester and deep into pro-China propaganda. It's not just opinions, but he's been actively involved in politics and angering a lot of people there. And so it made me realise that no matter how much I separate the art from the artist - Jackie Chan movies are Jackie Chan, you can't separate the two. I wanted to show love and appreciation to so many of my favourite Jackie Chan movies, fights and stunts - but I can't do that without glorifying the man himself. 

If Jackie Chan was just a cog in the machine, like Kung Fu Panda where he's just a voice actor, that's fine. It's NOT ABOUT him. But a video about his movies IS ABOUT him.

Something I could do with the work I've done is make it part of the broader topic, say like Action Scenes in general, so Jackie Chan can act as an example of something without making the whole video about him. That works perfectly fine to appreciate the art without glorifying the artist. But to do a video on a broader topic would mean a lot more research into other films and as we have hit December, there's no time to do that. So the entire project has been put on hold. 

Which meant on November 30th I faced a problem. I need an entirely different video written in one day. 

I have a list of ideas I look back to, many big ideas, some I noted but need to be in the right mood to tackle. Only one had any amount of research done to it, thus making it the most ready to begin, a sequel to Mrs Goofy : WHAT IS GOOFY?

So in a mad flurry I've written a batshit video about Goofy. It might wind up shorter than regular videos but it should hopefully be a lot of fun! And hopefully we can get it out soon and be able to enjoy Christmas relatively stress-free!

This has also set back the podcast and other Patreon perks so I'll get back onto those next week. And in a later post I'll share both the script for the upcoming Goofy video, but also the now scrapped Jackie Chan video, so you can see what could have been!
