Laputa: Castle in the Sky - Full Reaction!

Hey everyone! This video is for Lefty (congrats again for winning at the Bunny Awards!) and anyone else who is a fan of Hayao Miyazaki/Studio Ghibli!

I will not be editing this video for YouTube, since I've heard horror stories regarding Studio Ghibli and copyright striking or even taking down channels that use their footage. I'd rather not take any risks.

I rented this from Google Play but any copy that you have should work for following along. I watched the English dub and would suggest you also watch it in English since I do reference certain lines of dialogue and their delivery. If you would prefer to have yours playing with the Japanese voices, that'd be fine, too!

I hope you guys will enjoy!

Laputa: Castle in the Sky - Full Reaction!

Aside from Mark Hamill voicing the villain which anti-goodboy typecasts him from Star Wars, James Van Der Beek who voiced Pazu also played the main starring role of the WB channel's classic teen soap opera Dawson's Creek while Sheeta was voiced by Anna Paquin who played Rogue in the X-Men films and who was the star of HBO's vampire show True Blood! ;)

Yay!! Thanks for watching Castle in the Sky, I'm so glad you loved it, it was lovely to watch it again too. I just adore this film, I remember the first time I watched it, the music and the opening sequence where she falls through the sky just absolutely captivated me, and I was hooked for the entire film. This is probably my favourite adventure story I've experienced that I can think of. Fairly simple ideas, but executed to perfection. The hook throughout, the promise of the discovery of Laputa is something that is constantly exciting, and when they finally find it and arrive there it is so satisfying. The characters and their interactions and effortless way the movie makes you care about them are wonderful. It is very moving on a number of occasions, between sweet character moments, the amazing music and the time it spends on the small beautiful moments like the robot handing Sheeta a flower. Love, love, love this movie!!
