Exactly. Even stuff like Chromecast can be such a pain in the dick for some apps (Amazon Prime, Hulu, Funimation (whose app is absolute garbage in general)). Some never bother to optimize their mobile apps because they figure everyone will just hook up an HDMI cable to their laptop.

No waiting for netflix to buy out shitty company rights or supporting a company that makes their own shit material and not even support creators you like. In terms of anime, you're better off pirating because they get pennies when its all said and done with services like CrunchyRoll, which also started as a pirated site.
2020-09-23 20:50:13 +0000 UTCHere's a solution that has vastly improved my life: cutting out all your streaming services, and instead buying a VPN for torrenting and a small NAS server to use as a home media server. It's basically a small computer you fill with hard drives and always leave plugged in and running, and it hosts all of your media and can be accessed anywhere with an internet connection. Now, I just torrent all the shows I wanna watch, throw it onto the server, and stream it to my phone or TV. The thing pays for itself in half a year once you cancel your subscriptions, and I no longer need to dick around eight different streaming services looking for what has the show I wanna watch, only to discover it's behind one of Hulu's more expensive streaming tiers.
