Timelapses and Livestreams

Just wanted to say that I'm sorry for the lack of timelapses. I will be catching up and posting all of them throughout the next few days.

Also, looking back though my gallery, I found some little gems and for some reason I'd never posted the timelapses for them (this was before I'd announced the patreon page). I will be including those as well.

Thank you again for all of your patience, I do appreciate it a lot.

On the topic of streaming, I wanted to know what your thoughts were on it. I will likely be moving into doing more commentated streams as I become more comfortable, and figure out the set up more. I was thinking of streaming to Youtube as a main location since that's where my main art channel is for the timelapses, but I'm gonna try to keep doing them simultaneously on discord as well, for as long as I'm welcome.

On another note, I would like to know what you guys would like to see with the streams. Should I make some of them exclusive? Maybe take some suggestions on what to draw or have polls? I'm still pretty new to this, so I'd love to hear some suggestions. One thought I had was to stream every piece for the upcoming weretober month in October. Just a funny idea, but who knows xD

Anyways, thank you all again for your time and patience and for all o the ongoing the support

Hmm... well I dont mind exclusive streams but I think having them be rarer [like once or twice a month] would be alright I think? Not sure how you could make them feel special, but maybe those streams could be dedicated to drawing some patreon suggestions sometimes, other times it could be a random patreon gets a quick streamed sketch? [like having a poll of a few options sometime before the stream and not of actual patreon OCs] Honestly would love seeing you draw some character interactions. Find myself laughing half the time you make those! Not sure how you feel about Twitch, but its possible to stream on multiple platforms at once. Few streamers I watch do that, but Its not really necessary so early on. Also you madman xD Im excited already for weretober! But maybe not everyday. Its hard for people to make it everyday and it could be exhaustive to worry and catch all of em. Derpy already said it, but do try to give yourself more time to draw your own ideas!

Exclusive streams could be really cool, and for you they could help drive Patreon traffic if you have to be a member, say. But I'd make those rarer, and somehow "special" and unique compared to normal streams if you do them. But whatever you do, looking forward to it, mon ami.

"for as long as I am welcome" — sir? sir. you are always welcome.

Tbh I think something nice would be just a little voice over of your explaining your thoughts and why you’re doing what you’re doing. There’s a lot that can be understood from watching your process, but I often find the best art advice I’ve had came from random snippets of people saying why they’re doing what they’re doing. I think just draw whatever you want though, or maybe even do a personal project where you stream the making of some stuff for said project. It could be nice to also see not so much final products but also any studies/behind the scenes stuff. I think you’re doing a great job so far but do take your time with all of this, I imagine it is incredibly overwhelming with hundreds of eyes staring at you and people wanting to bombard you with questions about art all the time. Please stop whenever it feels like it’s too much and is making you unhappy

Poll ideas can include both! You got options. Ideas and scenarios for YOUR OCs, (you are very fortunate to have a fan base for Cypress & friends, many artists are stuck drawing other people IP's like Zelda and overwatch stuff for a living) "create a character" are super engaging. Fan art of famous characters is almost guarantee a success. (Blaidd, digimon, the furries from League of Legends etc) Avoid drawing other people OC ( followers) in the polls. Last thing you want is to turn your suggestions box or Patreon into a paid lottery machine. Trust me I have seen artists do this and it causes major drama and "fake supporters", people can be desperate

Also Lots of people want "how to" Videos. Now pre recorded is better for those kind. So yah... You don't need to stream every drawing, but for sure any "polled" drawing. As for exclusive. That is very tricky to balance. Do you want high community engagement (twitter) or as a perk for the Patreon insiders club. One piece a month is Fair I would be ok with, more might upset your "free" fanbase. Exclusive Patreon sketch seem to be very good so far from what I see (170 wow impressive)

DerpyDrake

Fair point 😂 For the regular polls, I'm wondering if they should original character ideas or more of a fan art situation, as in characters from pop culture or something 🤔

Taran

Those are some really good points! Thanks Derpy!

Heyy i agree with you!! Community polls sounds really interesting

Streaming every weretober piece, wow that's dedication. If you think you have the time go for it. As for suggestions, I think community polling/suggestions are a fun idea . Not just for livestream but art posts in general. Maybe one a month so its not too overwhelming for you Just make sure you still have time for your own ideas ( Cuse lets be real I bet the fan suggestions will end up on the line of what I got, hunky anthros in loincloths with lots of scars and a big sword 🤣)

My thoughts. I recommend Youtube. It is way more accessible and bigger platform . Even twitch could work Discord has some issues. Growlshifts server is a nice community, but to get In it can be intimating for some people. ( Plus the mods have to grant you access in) And to view the steam you need to join a voice chat. Even when voice is disable, it can be a "shock" to some especially shy people who just want to watch.
