GMMTV can do mature when it tries, Only Friends being an excellent example of this (although you won’t be able to see Mark Pakin the same way again!). One for this list as Season 2 is out (hopefully) this year

The thing is, when this show got announced I don't know why people were expecting amazing cgi and plot because the majority of sci-fi/fantasy bl is not known for being outstanding in those areas. We showed up for the pairing and they delivered what we wanted. So glad you are still able to enjoy the show for what it is and those moments where their chemistry shines. There are holes in the story but honestly, I'm sat and ready regardless lol

2025-05-03 22:20:53 +0000 UTCI *loved* this episode so much!! I was wrong predicting a dream but this turned out to be better! (Still wanna see Mark sleep though!) So one thing that I feel really helps this show is the interviews with the director because it really helps to understand all the nuance at least with character motivations and why some scenes that seem really minor are actually kind of important. The only problem is P’Ark gets so excited talking about stuff that he tends to give away spoilers. Damn you man!! But I think Joss and Gawin both slayed with the emotions here. Soooo so good! When Mark runs to the bathroom at the beginning and he’s trying to calm down but notices Tongs blood on his shirt. There’s one fleeting moment when he looks at it with such an expression of sorrow. He’s hurt Tong and yet he’s so incredibly turned on by him. It seems like such an expression of self loathing. Then the tub scene. Of course the first watch, I was like !!!!!!!! Brooooo! But upon watching again… it’s really melancholy and actually pretty heartbreaking. Timothy mentioned it earlier that the bloodlust and the sex drive are so intertwined that Mark cannot separate them which is true and it leads to this crushing guilt. Mark feels like his desire for Tong is… wrong or sinful for lack of a better word. It’s also kinda sad to think that his first time in 200 years is with his hand instead of Tong. :-/ And then we have the scene at the end. Mark once again loses control and instead of quitting, Tong shows just this incredible amount of trust and love by being close to Mark and by undressing him and telling him it’s alright. Tong is telling him that there’s no need for him to separate the bloodlust and desire, he’s okay with it. He trusts Mark wholeheartedly that he won’t hurt him. He accepts Mark as he is. ToT And of course there’s the Tonkla and as much as I wanna shake him and tell him don’t be so dramatic… I can also put myself in his shoes and I can’t say I’d feel any different than he does. Emotions are rarely rational. I’m really scared for him. Here are some fun tidbits: There were no workshops for the NC scenes. (I’m assuming there was no intimacy coordinator either) There was also no blocking for the NC scenes. ( blocking is the planned movement and placement of actors in particular shots and scenes). So basically the NC scenes were shot after brief discussion of how the characters were feeling and that’s it. Joss and Gawin are on another level. 🫠 Joss won’t watch the tub scene. Gawin said it was beautiful and artfully done. 🤌🏻 The big kissy scene at the end of episode four only needed one take. :-O I would have messed up on purpose. ;-) Also sorry for the long post. Despite its flaws, there is just something about this show that just… I dunno. I just reaaaaally like it. XD (Intrusive thoughts: I would love for these two to do a Thai remake of Hannibal to be honest. As long as it could be as gory and unsettling as the original. 🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩) And I forgot to thank you again Fabu! Sheesh. I love watching this with you!!!!! ❤️❤️❤️

Tong asks Mark why he was fighting people from the Tara group,which implies that's how Nakan tried to spin it. But we didnt see that. Like tong, we've seen Mark fight before so why would that video be shocking to anyone but tonkla lol
