I’ve given this some thought. I wasn’t too troubled when I first watched this either (and I loved it) but there was just a little ‘twinge of cringe’ a few times. I “think” it doesn’t actually come from them being animals in a previous life at all. I think it’s because they were Jeong U’s pets. A beloved pet is very much like a family member, so it’s almost like being attracted to a reincarnation of a brother, sister or child.

2025-06-09 23:27:46 +0000 UTCThe actor who plays choco is in another bl called Grey Shelter. It is far more gritty and realistic from what I recall. A completely different vibe to this show. There was talk of a second series of this show (I think they even did auditions for new characters) but it never materialised.

2025-06-09 21:49:19 +0000 UTCMy thoughts on the whole pet thing is that although they were once pets, they are now human and as such are able to experience the world and emotions differently. It never bothered me much that they were once pets because they are men now.

2025-06-09 21:44:44 +0000 UTCI would watch all of these actors in other shows, especially the guy who played the cat. They are doing an excellent job portraying the complex emotions. I don’t know what workshops they did before acting but they really did an awesome job. I don’t know the history of the actors, but the studio this show is made from is very small. They just came out with a series fairly recently (you’ve probably seen the episodes pop as recommendations when these end) and they had no series in between this one and that one. They struggle for funding due to how small they are and have A LOT of shows (mostly short, one or two videos) to watch if you join their membership, but they can’t do large productions like this very often.
