OMG you've just made an EXCELLENT point Michael!!! I don't think many people pieced this together !

Fabian Gonzalez

very very true! ahhh can't wait to see what they have in store with Ticket to Heaven! I know I gotta prepare 1,000 tissues with that one haha

Fabi

All great points, as usual! I also love that they casted actual teenagers (GeminiFourth) to play the roles of a teenager. Who better to play them, than actors who have probably lived similar experiences! And to your Khao being killed reference, I was like HOWWW until I realised what you were talking about LOL

Fabi

Oh! I Didn't catch that! Thanks!

Philippe

it really was 💔

Fabi

wow I love hearing about this perspectives because I would've never gathered this from that scene, even if I picked up on the cameo.

Fabi

ahhh I keep missing cameos 😭

Fabi

I'd forgotten this, but isn't this supposed to be set right as we're coming out of COVID restrictions? I don't know how it worked in Thailand, but I'd imagined it must have put a strain on Wen and Alan's relationship, more than it could take?

Michael Craig

For American Sign Language (ASL), their website has terrific video to help learn it, quite accessible. I learned when my sister lost her ability to speak due to Parkinson's disease...just the basics made a huge difference! Heart's mom has no good defense.

Michael Craig

I always forget how frustrating this episode is lol. to anyone out here (you don't have to) but knowing some basics of sign language especially if you know someone who uses it, seriously makes all the difference. I have a 4 year old cousin who can't speak, and learning a few basics in my spare time here and there since knowing about her condition has been so good for when I babysit or volunteer as a teaching assistant at her school. basically eat, drink, more, finished, danger/pain, toilet, home, mum/dad etc have been the standout ones in my context. I promise that seeing the look on someone's face when they realise you are trying to communicate is so worth it. also,HAPPY PRIDE to EVERYONE :)

Molly

A deeper dive - the poster on the bedroom wall behind Heart & Li Ming is an instructional signing chart. Probably the first thing Heart sees each morning.

Tom Schlange

Based on how they showed it to us, I think the post-its on Heart's wall are from his mother, the ones she always slides in from under Heart's door :( or puts on the fridge. It's probably their whole interaction because she hasn't bothered to learn sign language. It's like a constant reminder to Heart that he's been alone in this. How fortunate that he now has Li Ming who doesn't make him feel inadequate. As for Jim, I really like him as a character. But the way he keeps treating Li Ming is starting to get a bit frustrating, there's no communication or development. Li Ming is his own person with feelings and wants, and he deserves to be heard, not just told what to do.

가리스

actually the notes on the mirror wasn't of Liming and Heart, unfortunately those were all the notes his mom wrote to him all those years since she never learned sign language. Absolutely devastating.

Iriana F

While nobody denied her loving Heart there’s no justifiable reason to keep another human being secluded from the world because of their disability. Her overprotection of her son who had a disability is rooted in ableism, and It stems from the assumption that disabled individuals are inherently less capable and need constant supervision and support, even if they are capable of independent action. Which is false & problematic asf. I don’t think anyone who’s calling her out is projecting their own “personal” trauma upon said character because she’s a “parent” character! I think that her behavior is being acknowledged for what it is. Which is ableist & disgusting. The fact that she didn’t care enough to learn sign to have basic conversation between her & her son whom is another human being is very telling. It’s also dehumanizing. While her ableism may stem from good intentions that’s not important. What’s most important is to understand that good intentions do not negate the harmful impact of her ableist actions or words. So nobody cares about her intentions, or what she thought she was doing. Nor is anyone project anything onto said character based upon their own trauma. It’s solely based upon the character’s actions, and I don’t think anyone has labeled her as a villain. I think she was simply acknowledged for what she is which is a ableist & a neglectful mother who puts herself before her own child. Very bad & problematic take kind sir. To me because this goes along the lines of discrimination because that what ableism is it feels like you’re shrugging this off as a simple or unknowable mistake. Which is also problematic. While someone learning, and changing is important people are not absolved from the discrimination they’ve displayed. And their actions definitely define who they are, and once were. This applies to all forms of discrimination whether it’s Racism, Ableism, colorism, transphobia, homophobia, Anti semitism, fatphobic, and etc…..

Gemini

Oh, I totally agree with you, it’s definitely not easy. But what really bothers me about the situation is that they’ve been stuck like this for far too long, and he (Wen) hasn’t made any effort to even start the process. No packing, no searching, not even a serious conversation about next steps. From what Allan said, the place belongs to him, so he’s not financially tied to it, which should make things a lot easier. I’ve moved more times than I can count, and I know how stressful it can be. But maybe because I’ve never lived in one place for more than 5-6 years, I’ve learned to be like, “Alright, time to pack up,” even if it means crashing on a friend’s sofa for a bit or renting out a single room. Personally, I could never live with an ex, that’s a big no for me. I’d do whatever it takes to move out, not just for myself but for both of us, for the sake of peace and sanity! 😂

Fabi

yeah she made my blood boil too 😫

It’s already been noted, but what a difference it makes having P’Aof as the director. He is a master. These are all fine actors to be sure, but it is not an accident that the performances in this series are top-notch.

Khun Timmy

I couldn’t agree more, “this was a heavy episode but I love it.” It really is great. This series treats you like an adult. Every character is a real person with normal human frailty.

Khun Timmy

Almost forgot about it: I actually worked for a couple of weeks in a costume like that at a mall XD. It was some kind of Pac-Man. I was young and semi-homeless, needed the money hahahaha. It wasn’t the traumatizing experience I thought it was going to be, on the contrary, even though it was tiring, it was fun! Yeah, it was hot inside, but the worst part for me was a couple of plastic bars over my shoulders that helped support the costume... those made me ache. I know this isn’t the story section, but I remembered it because of Li Ming and Heart =)

Philippe

When I have a date with someone like that it ALWAYS is a deal killer for me. When I ask "what do you want to eat", "what movie do you want to watch" etc, and the answer is "I don't know" or "Just what you want", all the time... ugh.

Philippe

Argh, Jim is being so obtuse about Li Ming. Like, man, take a hint! The one thing I dislike about Jim (whom I love as a character) is that he hasn’t shown any development in his relationship with Li Ming, even after Wen talked to him about it.

Philippe

Amazing. All the scenes seem so well scripted and acted, and the narrative flow makes sense (not many BLs achieve this, sadly). The cinematography is on point. I was speechless during the Alan and Wen fight at the beginning. it was so raw, so real, and just crazy crazy heavy. I started to be like “WTF WTF WTF” the whole time. And then Wen’s “I did it out of pity”... what a blow. What I love about this series is that all the characters do both right and wrong things, and it feels so real. Alan is a jerk, he has no business treating Jim like that at the restaurant or in the office. But I totally get how he feels about Wen. To love someone for years and then be told “I just don’t love you anymore, just because”... that’s gotta be really hard to digest. Wen really can’t help how he feels, but he’s being a real ass to Alan. He should’ve done the moving out and ring returning thing months ago. I really love that Li Ming actually feels like a teenager in this. He’s one of the most realistic portrayals of a teen in BL...very few series pull that off (even though so many of them are about teenagers XD). Even when the characters are played by people of the appropriate age (thank god for that), most shows don’t bother to write a teen properly, but here, they do. And Fourth delivers: every reaction, every response is spot-on. Fourth isn’t just incredibly good-looking, he’s also a hell of an actor. I really like the “good vibe” between Li and Wen too. I feel for Khao. In one series (or two) they kill him, and now he’s going to be heartbroken, because Jim will never see him as an option (I suppose!!!). Will we get a FirstKhao in this? Not sure I’d want that. I love Mark here too. I mean, I love him everywhere, but here he has that slightly chubbier face and looks so adorable. I can’t. You’re gonna be the best dad, Leng. <3

Philippe

Heart yelling at his mother through Li Ming is one of the MOST enraging and touching scenes I've ever seen in a BL.

Ang

The part where they were told "to rekindle the fire" it was told by P'aof (the director of the series). To me, it was a very well-made scene, I loved the meaning behind it. But if u began to think about it more deeply, it can have another significance. P'aof is the director of the series, he can make them get together if he wanted to, and change how the story would move forward since he has the power to do so. For me it gaved the illusion that he asked the characters if they wanted to try again, and they told him no. So, to me, it was a very well-done scene.

SilverTail2631

FirstKhao also seem to have a real head for business. They’ve advised before that if they both star in a series they split the salary 50:50 & then do a 70:30 split for any individual roles, appearances etc. They fully appreciate that they’re a hotter commodity as a pair, but with that agreement in place, they can do their own individual bits too. I absolutely love that

Natalie Warner

So many terrific scenes in this episode! I'd thought Alan an unsympathetic character until it was revealed they'd been together for so many years. Wen reminds me of a sister of mine who is a people pleaser...they have such a hard time putting their own interests first; they don't want anyone to be mad at them.

Michael Craig

There is another cameo here. The staff who wanted to rekindle the grill fire for Wen and Alan, he is P'Aof, the director for Bad Buddy, Last Twilight, and also this Moonlight Chicken.

TanuTsuki86

I think Wen got used to giving in and adjusting to Alan's preferences and lifestyle from the context clues we got , so it's easier for him to just maintain the status quo and as someone else said it's not really easy to just up and leave a life you've comfortably had for the last five years but it was all worth it for that BBQ scene we got LOL

Onesan Talks Like Nemu-chan

I've been in Alan's shoes and I remember feeling completely crazy until I could get out of that situation, so this episode is a hard watch. But I think it's really good how we are getting different sides to the story and there is no real 'villain' except reality. So glad I've saved something cheerful to watch after lol

Croix Royce

As far as Wen goes I don’t think the situation is that simple. While he definitely needed to part ways with Alan realistically uprooting yourself from a space you’ve been living in & sharing with someone for 5 years isn’t easy. From a financial standpoint to simply finding a new place to live. The perfect example of that is Wen packing a small bag & going to Jim’s house because realistically he had no where to go. And as someone who’s broken up with someone but still shared a home it can get confusing. One minute you think that the situation is fixable & the next you wanna get tf up out of there. Emotions are usually always high & it can get confusing. The whole situation is a roller coaster. It’s not a good situation to be in! Both parties deserve better.

Gemini

I never hated a character more than Heart’s raggedy mother. This is the first series I’ve ever crashed out over. The fact that this sweet boy has been deaf for 3 years, and you as his mother never took the initiative to learn sign language is disgusting. Especially when someone like Li Ming who just met him has already learned so much of it just because he wants to treat Heart like a normal person. This is peak Ableism. She blatantly confines Heart to the house because she believes that typical abilities such as hearing are superior to being deaf & that someone who is deaf couldn’t possibly do all the things we all typically do daily. There’s absolutely no masking it or equating it with her simply being an over protective mother. I didn’t feel bad for her not once.

Gemini

Yess, it's not hard to use at all. You have to get used to the interface as it's mostly intended for marketing so there's a lot of tools I don't need, but once you do it's perfect! It's pricier than Vimeo Premium, BUT don't have to worry about bandwidth which was a nightmare and now I can post the videos in HD! Yayyy thank you so so much for the recommendation <3

Fabi

ahhh yes just finished the BTS of MSP and noticed that LOL

Fabi

Yes, of course! I explained it in more detail in the "Notices/Alerts" chat if you want the full story, but basically, Patreon's system is quite limited and I ran out of space. Even after deleting files, they removed my ability to upload anything else, which was really frustrating 😔 I tried using Vimeo for a while since it's the most compatible with Patreon and the pricing seemed reasonable at first. What I didn’t realise was that I also had to worry about bandwidth. They give you 2 TB per month, which I thought would be more than enough… but nope! Depending on traffic, it runs out quickly. I ended up using almost 6 TB and got a warning. The only solution they offered was to upgrade to an “Enterprise” plan, which, as the name suggests, is ridiculously expensive. Since then I’ve been testing other platforms. It’s been a bit of a journey, but someone recently recommended this current one I’m using and so far it’s the best option. It’s not exactly cheap either, but it doesn’t restrict space or bandwidth, so for now, it’s the most reliable setup I’ve got.

Fabi

Khaotung (Gaipa) and First (Alan) are a much beloved BL pairing, extremely close friends in real life to the point that they cry over each other, and have several popular BLs together: The Eclipse, Only Friends, The Heart Killers, and the upcoming Cat for Cash. They and Earth (Jim) and Mix (Wen) are apparently all good friends as well and have been photographed going to many events together. Lots of people, myself included, believe that the four of them are among the best actual actors (not just eye candy) in the GMMTV stables.

Mark Lesney

Vidyard looks good, is it easy to use?

Onesan Talks Like Nemu-chan

You spotted P’Au as the bubble tea guy at the market. He’s the director of MSP. He also made a cameo in Last Twilight as the chef with Mhok at the resort towards the end of the series. ☺️

Sunny Days

Can I ask why you’re using the third party systems instead of the Patreon system like before? Just curious

Zenru Renari

😆

Fabi

Woohoo. I can take off my bitchy complainer hat for a while 😂
