I think the best way to enjoy this show is really just to lay back and wait for everything to unfold haha, it's very soap opera-y and I found each episode delicious even if it may not really be for everyone. It's a different kind of BL for sure and I love that we're getting BLs which delve into various themes and genres! You're right about the 'hyung' - generally used by men to address an older man, not just a blood brother, when you're close to them [otherwise you'd generally stick to using "ssi" or "nim", in polite speech, like how Ju Seunghyeon (the guy who just joined Daon's company in this episode) and Jung Daon refer to each other as "Jung Daeri-nim" or "Ju Daeri-nim" aka Mr. Assistant Manager.

This actor, by the way, is very handsome, he was part of a Korean idol group... He is a dancer, a singer and this is his first role in a BL... And he plays it very well... The other actors are also very good in the interpretation of their characters... It's rare to have so many very good roles and very good actors in a BL. Often, there are two of them... Here, we have 4, really very good ... I don't want to worry you but the first episode is perhaps the one that is the lightest and most fun... After that, we enter another dimension... But it's fascinating ! What a great series !

2025-06-28 15:12:07 +0000 UTCFabi, this is a show which jumps across the timeline constantly, so Iโve done a no spoiler summary of what youโve already seen (below), as literally everything in this show is important to the plot Also: Da-on (main guy) Seong-hyeon (coworker) Jae Min (best friend/crush) Soo-hyeon (Jae Minโs ex. Back from abroad) - Da-Onโs family are very very poor - Jae Min comes from a wealthy family, and he agreed to tutor Da On when he was in high school, pro bono (10 years ago) - Jae Min knows the full extent of Da-Onโs family situation, including that his Dad always asks for money & that heโs not disclosed his address to anyone other than his sister - Da-On, Jae Min & Soo-hyeon all knew each other in college. Da-Onโs intended confession, with the perfume, was 7 years ago - The watch that Jae Min gifted Da-On is about ยฃ4,500/$6,000. Da-On doesnโt wear it, and the first time he does, it gets broken (somewhat explains his shitty behaviour) - Da-Onโs coworkers assume heโs from a privileged background. The way he carries himself, the clothes he wears etc. Heโs hasnโt corrected this assumption & has a huge chip on his shoulder from his original background (always feels heโs lesser than) - Da-On is very successful in his career, but feels definitely indebted to Jae Min for it, due to tutoring, some financial assistance & guidance/friendship for the past decade The cat noises are a character trope. โBlack catโ characters are people who embody that cat like energy. Aloof, high walls, can be dismissive/rude, visibly exasperated & the common trope is theyโre offset with a โGolden Retrieverโ (in this case Seong-Hyeon. High energy, persistent, puppy dog like, heart on their sleeve, straight forward. Itโs the odd couple trope (friends, lovers, neighbours, coworkers etc)
