It's not a bad show by any means, but it was forgettable for me. I enjoyed rewatching it here, but now I wonder if I'll forget it again after a bit... 🙃

Toramenor

What is the name of that series?

Toramenor

yeah, that's why I like to watch these miniseries every now and then! short and sweet!

Fabi

I really enjoyed this mini series. The story is an emotional roller coaster, but straight to the point. I love my Thai BL’s, but they can be drawn out with unnecessary twists and misunderstandings just to fill episode times. Great pick to react to!!!

Just finished the finale. It was a real nice series. The early scene between Si Won and his mom was heartbreaking. Then I got a bit confused in the second part because it seemed like Si Won and Da Un had a beautiful reconciliation- only to find out it was apparently a dream? And then the actual reconciliation (which was very sweet).

Khun Timmy

Exactly the same!! I could barely remember it- which i think speak volumes. The chemistry of the actors was fine but I think overall it's just pretty forgettable.

I really really enjoy a few of the scenes in this - and in general it's a good watch. I do feel a tad lost at times, not really understanding the point or why it was done. I don't know if I am suppose to pick up on things but don't or if the translation is off at times. I might just not get it 😅 But give me an apology and a heartfelt hug in the end and I will be happy 😊

I like this series. It took me a couple of episodes to really get hooked, but it was worth it. The finale felt weak to me. I'm not against "loose ends" (things that go unresolved on screen ) in this kind of series, but I felt the finale just dragged out the conflict from the previous episode. It didn’t really resolve anything new for the main characters, nor did it offer more development or anything. The dream sequence was unnecessary. Even though I understood it was a dream, I still found it lazy and kind of pointless. What did we learned about Dawoon POV, that we didn't know before? The whole episode lacked impact and "substance". I'd still recommend the series, though... I really enjoyed it. Top-notch Koren cinematography, acting, etc.

It's funny, I knew I watched this show but I couldn't remember anything about it, so I decided to rewatch it here. I obviously remembered certain scenes from each episode, but nothing about the show stuck with me. Maybe it was because Da Un's character was such a cipher. We know he is feeling lonely and aimless, but that's about it. Overall, this couple was pretty low on the chemistry scale for me, and when it was over it was just shrug and on to the next show.

ahhh at least you understood the dream sequence 😆 that went right over my head. I'm a very passive watcher, I guess I'll have to start over analysing everything on KBLs 😂

Fabi

Thank you for explaining all of this HoneyB! 😭 I can't believe I completely missed all of that!! 😱

Fabi

yes and D.B.W is actually the guy with the glasses in this series... they just recast him for the BL that they released this year... I did prefer this actor from Blueming though.

sean carter

Yes, these are my thoughts too...you saved me from so much typing, thanks!

Michael Craig

fun fact : there were numerous hints that Si Won's friend with the glasses has a love interest, he even mentioned it to the girl in a previous episode.. the character actually has his own story and webtoon and a new series was recently released with him as the lead, same exact character but they changed the actor.

sean carter

Not my favorite, but I enjoyed your reaction. It seemed to wrap up too easily for me, and didn't explore the really emotionally interesting stuff to the depth I would have liked, especially as you say, without Daon's point of view and story being explicated except in a minute or two of a dream sequence, and him just moping around on occasion. The really interesting body dysmorphia issue was just dropped, and handwaved away because they hired a kid built like him as a child and treated him nicely. Then there was the fact that the nasty film guy was right all along about being cheated, and Siwon only felt personally hurt and betrayed, but not guilty over what had happened. Perhaps if it had been longer. The actors had really good chemistry and performances, though. I suppose I felt that the writing lost its deeper themes and plot at the end, and instead wrapped everything up in a tidy bow. Just my opinion.

wjr.

when I first watched it, I was confused. he went to sleep when he laid down on bed and dreamt of the perfect life.. hence why there was a haze in the scene.. also then when I saw him happily having dinner with his parents who we've known are never actually home followed by a perfect reunion I realized it was a dream sequence lol. no shade but I feel like it's always the KBLs we have to explain to Fabi cause the details are so small sometimes u have to pay very close attention similar to Secret Relationships... Thai BL more blast the point across in your face so its obvious but KBLS do it more subtle.

sean carter

As someone mentioned, that part was a dream: 1. His parents were there having dinner, something they never do anymore. The scene was pretty hazy (the first clue). 2. Then he leaves the house and immediately finds Siwon, who was also looking for him and just tells him “it’s okay” with no discussion or conversation about what happened (very unlike Siwon not to want to talk or debate lol, second clue) and they immediately make up and go walking. 3. THEN the final clue is the couple, who are Siwon’s parents (hard to see, the lighting was dark) who are together and smiling, something almost completely impossible. Then they make out in the moonlight (OUTSIDE, Siwon would never do that in front of people) and fade to black. This is all Dawoon wants - to see his parents and eat with them, for Siwon’s parents to be together and make his home life better, and for the two of them to be happy ever after in love. The best part is what happens next for me - he still goes to find Siwon, who’s hurt and hasn’t been looking for him, and they have a realistic conversation and make up the normal way based on reality. He still gets his hug and the nice stroll, but in a healthy way and not the fantasy he dreamed about. I like this show, and while it isn’t the most exciting, it’s an expert showing of humans being humans - emotional, rash, flawed, and complex. Siwon never quite understands his mom, his dad still sucks, the female friend doesn’t magically have a partner by the end and the friend (that we all suspect likes her) doesn’t magically end up with her, and Dawoon’s parents are likely still absent. The end is a new beginning for Siwon and Dawoon only, as goes life most of the time, and I think that’s beautiful.

HoneyB

the confusing part is a dream sequence , it is confusing, the placement and editing is weird the chef and star is in reference to another BL everyone had been recommending the initials on the guitar D.B.W. stands for Do Ba Woo, the main lead in another BL by the same author

Onesan Talks Like Nemu-chan

13:00 Celebrity and the chef is an easter egg ^^ I will say no more. :)
