Tracy's ride
Added 2016-03-29 16:21:06 +0000 UTCThis is a commission I recently finished for a client. It is nice after being out of commission to be getting back into the swing of things. For this commission the client wanted their character Tracy to be sitting in a 1980's Volkswagen cabriolet.
We explored several classic car and girl pin up poses and then in process of collecting reference for the commission I came across an old promotional photo for the car that had more of a birds eye view of the vehicle. Not only was this an uncommon angle for a piece of this nature, but it also gave a great view into the interior of the vehicle.

Takes me back to when the road was full of either old rust buckets that had somehow managed to make to the other side of the energy crises or subcompacts and superminis...Ford Fiestas, Renaults, Volks and more exotic fare on every street. Wasn't the cabriolet based on a Golf chassis?
