Hey guys! After some tough deliberation, I've put together the list for this year's Weretober! π This one was definitely the toughest so far, just because of how many good suggestions there were π I still tried to steer in the general direction for what you guys were wanting tough. (Most of the prompts here were repeat suggestion, meaning that they appeared multiple times between individual's suggestion lists)
I did try to also keep some of the prompts more general, just so that there could be a lot more variety, though my personal version has a few notes on it for what I'm likely to go with.
But yeah! I wish I could have added all of the suggestions, but that would have been a challenge lasting about half a year... π Even still, I appreciate all of them, and I want to thank you guys for participating in helping me to put this together! Thanks again for making this stuff possible!
On the topic of when I'll be starting, last year and I believe the year prior to that as well, I shifted the challenge to start a few days early, mostly because it gets pretty busy around Halloween. Having those few days free at the end of October really helps. Plus, there is the added benefit that you guys get to see all of the pieces a bit early π So, as with previous years, I'll be starting early again, probably on the 27th. If I end up live-streaming a few of them, I'll let you guys know in a few days what the plans are for that.
Before I finish up, as someone who's done a lot of these month-long challenges, (and also made plenty of mistakes with them π) I'd like to offer a bit of advice to anyone who wishes to participate that may feel a bit nervous about it. So the main thing that you have to keep in mind, is that this all about having fun. If you're not enjoying yourself, then this may not be a great experience lol. It's also not a competition. Judging your work and comparing yourself to others in a self deprecating way will also not make this fun for you or anyone around you. Be constructive with your criticism, especially to yourself and always be humble, no matter where you are in your art journey π
Now for some technical advice. Finishing one drawing may already be a challenge for some, and this is gonna be 31 of them, so it's really a challenge to your stamina. Pacing yourself is gonna be key, and by that I mean drawing within your ability to be able to do it for the full month. So if that means that you're only able to draw for 20-30 mins a day, then go with that. If it's more than that, awesome! Also keep in mind to stay somewhat flexible with that though. Some days you may not feel like spending as much time, (or you're unable to) and some days you might feel like spending more time. That's also fine too! Listen to your body, and let it help you to get to the finish line. π
Finally, be forgiving to yourself! If you don't make it to the end, don't sweat it! If you had fun, then that's way more important! π
That's it for now! Thanks again guys! Let's have an AWOOsome Weretober!! β¨
