Wolfman Study 2025 repaint 🐺 (Noodity)

Hey guys! Hope everyone's having a great week!

Here's another piece that I thought needed a retry. The anatomy was just... it needed work. I remember at the time having so many issued with where the Serratus muscles insert into the external oblques on that shadow side, but that's mostly due to a lack of experience in having draw this pose. I had to pull up so many references, and it STILL doesn't look right 😂

Since then, I've draw the whole "one arm raised" pose MANY times, and decided this one needed to be updated just to gauge where I'm at in terms of that knowledge now lol. Gotta say that it was much smoother this run.

On top of that, I basically updated everything else lol. A lot more of the forms have been simplified, making them less busy, and the proportions have been changed. The tail was also moved to add more balance to the pose. The hair was changed a bit to be more messy, and I made his "mane" (dunno if that's what it's called on wolves, but the fluff around the face 😆) a bit more prominent and distinct from the rest of the wet fur on his neck, by including more of a cast shadow on the light side. This makes his face more defined and readable. Other than the figure, I made a few changes to the background here and there, but mainly adding a stronger hint of a waterfall behind him, adding a bit more of that "chiaroscuro" effect and it's also just a block of value that frames the figure and adds visual interest to the piece. (Also he now has privates, so he's been fully brought into 2025 😂)

There's a gif included that flips between the new and older version too, so it's much easier to see all of the changes 👍

On a similar vein, I've noticed that I've been doing a lot more of these repaints lately, so if you guys ever wanna see one of my older pieces brought into to my more modern style, feel free to mention them in the comments! It's not a guarantee, but if I see one that I also think needs some TLC, then I'll try to make some time for it! Also I should probably mention that the piece will probably have to be older than from just last year, since one year probably isn't a lot of time to see any major differences or improvements 😂. So like 2023 and further back lol
