Hey guys! Hope everyone is having a great Weekend! Here's another update on Cypress.
To start, I ended up altering the pose slightly, because, as I began blocking in the front leg, I noticed that there was quite a bit of instability in the pose, and my putting pressure on the armature was moving it around enough that I could foresee it becoming a bit of a hindrance later on lol. So I took the bit of clay off, and changed it to one of those "standing but with a leg up on a prop" poses I've been known to do 😂. Much more sturdy and fixed the moving armature issue that I was having.
After that, I went ahead and blocked in the skeletal structure, just so that I could get some landmarks in there. It'll help later on to know where to put the muscle groups.
Up next will be to add the muscles. but for now, taking a bit of a break. The clay that I'm using there, is actually a mix of two hardnesses of sculpey; "original", which is already fairly hard, and "firm", which is... like kneading wax (especially difficult for my soff bebeh hands lmao). so yeah... after kneading for 1.5 hours, and THEN doing the sculpting for another 2.5 hours... my thumb tips and palm skin, *knead (;-))))) a small rest. (prefect time to switch back to drawing lol)
Speaking of which, there's also a rough WIP of a scene that I included. Just a idea that I named "Taming the winds." Still figuring out where to go with it, since it's a rough idea, and an excuse to practice a landscape. Possibly more updates on that soon!
But yeah, that's it for now! Thanks again guys, and enjoy! 😊
