September 2025 - (Ongoing) Patreon/Channel Update

Howdy y'all.

As y'all probably saw I posted the final version of "overanalyzing death note | pt 33." And, you'll be happy to know that I've finished writing Part 34 and I'm over halfway done with writing Part 35. In fact, I should be done writing it by the end of the week, I imagine. After that it'll be on to Part 36 and then.... well... then "The End." (Well, at least for the anime -- I do still plan on doing the manga as well. I've still got about five of those scripts ready to go -- it's just a matter of making the time to record and edit them. But, yeah.)

As things stand I'm lookin' at January 28th, 2026 as the date for the final video. That's the date I'm planning on posting it on YouTube, anyway. And it's lookin' like it's really gonna happen by then. I mean, like I said, I should be finishing up Part 35 soon and from there I'm just gonna jump right into Part 36.

But, because I'm going to be focusing on finishing Death Note, that does mean that Code Geass is going on a bit of an extended hiatus. I know most of y'all probably don't care too much about that -- but I know there are some people who really fuck with those videos heavy, and seeing as I stopped writing Part 07 in the middle of the episode, I could understand if y'all might be a little bummed out to hear this.

But, don't worry -- I will be coming back to it. Y'all have my word on that.

And yeah -- aside from that... I hope y'all had a great August, and I hope September goes even better. I also hope y'all end up enjoying the final version of Part 33.

Until next time, friends -- peace!

9/4 Update -- I actually finished DN.35 today, quicker than I thought. And the last portion of that script is some of my best writing, I think. Now... on to DN.36!

9/5 Update -- Feel free to check in how things are going with DN.36 if ya like. Starting a bit of it tonight.

I'll provide input on 35: -Mail "Matt" Jeevas's death - okay, so much like how we never learn about L's real name of L Lawliet, we never learn the guy's real name in-show. But I'm more here to talk about his swiss cheese and what you were saying about the "reaching for a weapon" part. For starters, those suits would have undoubtedly executed him anyway, so Matt would have been desperate anyway. And I'm bringing up how corrupt law enforcement shouldn't be agreed with after my own experience with police brutality from last year, when the police suffocated me for trying to protect my dad's ashes, which they didn't care to hear out despite how I was carrying the 60-page document's physical copy, to where I'm publicly linking to that on Bluesky with how God awful my options are in calling out the mess for its atrocious precedent. My fault with the incident was in expecting "compassionate" California to treat me with dignity despite the VARIOUS examples of how they will show apathy at best toward issues like pet dumping. I will adamantly hold Matt in full sympathy despite his being involved in abduction of a woman, which let's be fair was intended to bring down Kira. -Mihael "Mello" Keehl's joke of a death - I wouldn't be surprised if the lack of emotional weight here was intended (it's like this in the manga as well) when Mello has his motivation being envy toward Near. The funny thing is what we know to really happen, but all the same, undoubtedly there's supposed to be the idea that death isn't caring about people's pride or accomplishments. Something like that. At least you're right to bring up how abrupt Mello died and how little regard there is to it, just for the discussion merit. -"There are no perfect victims and Takada had her issues – I’m not disputing that, but… my goodness, bro. " - I can at least point out that Takada has been referred to as "female Light" by World Without Light for valid reason. Although I imagine that calling "Refined Takada" on HER loads would simply need a display of her snobby attitude toward Misa and we could just trust the discussion that would come up, especially with her gleeful suggestion to Light of Murdering The Hypotenuse. Of course, while Light was pulling Kick The (Son Of A) Bitch here, this is still... -Light's Moral Event Horizon (assuming Light's treatment of Naomi wasn't that first) - in all fairness to Light, Light killing Takada to dispose of evidence was pragmatism, however cold when by this point, his morality is such a broken mess anyway that I'm more pitying him than hating him, when Reaper King knows what sort of standard For The Evulz villain could have obtained the Death Note, and I'm basically saying to Light "gosh, good sir, you know you don't have to act like you enjoy the nastier details of your efforts, right? Your amnesiac version would have VOMITED about it." Of course, that brings up that Light didn't think to be more creative with making sure Takada wouldn't suffer in her death when DNing her for the evidence disposal, and Takada dies naked, immolated, and disgraced because of that. This isn't even getting into how in the manga, Takada was enough of a liability that Light would have killed her after dealing with Near anyway. Shows how Light's morality is so regressed because with the live-action film continuity, we have what he, although with clear involvement of his messed up priorities, similarly does (or at least attempts) in the second live-action film, something that upsets MISA there. I don't think Light was innately evil, but dear Reaper King has he become so corrupted in his own choices where he was too hasty believing in the new generation's excessive belief in pragmatism at any cost to understand what his "old fashioned" dad did. Not every monster is Kyosuke Higuchi or Roger Retinz, after all... Oh, and Amnesiac Light being brought up does provide something to talk about, though it'll be on DMs on Instagram. The subject I'm primarily wanting to cover (not Death Note, and not even Code Geass although there would be clear inspiration by CG, specifically R2E13) would undoubtedly be touchy too, although considering we're here because of Death Note, it's bound to be something you could handle.
