Pokémon Title Master! [1]

Kanto Region

In a nature reserve, a fierce chase was underway.

“Damn it! How did I run into this monster?!”

The poacher leader riding a Dodrio frantically cursed in his heart, his face barely able to hide his terror.

He had come out with six of his men to poach, but now he was the only one still standing.

"Hmm? I think I just heard someone cursing me in their mind."

A voice came from behind, sending a shiver down the poacher leader’s spine. He lost his grip and tumbled off the speeding Dodrio, rolling over ten meters on the ground before slamming into a tree and finally coming to a stop.

“Oof... that looks painful.” Xia Yuan, who had been chasing from behind, teased as he glanced at the poacher leader’s arm bent at an unnatural angle.

“Aren’t you supposed to be transferred? Why are you still here?!”

Despite his broken arm, the poacher leader gritted his teeth and asked, as it was his biggest confusion. The reason he had dared to poach here was that he had heard the ‘demon’ in front of him, notorious in the Pokémon Hunter world, had been transferred. Otherwise, he wouldn’t have dared to come here even if given a thousand lives.

Could it be that the informant who sold him this information had lied to him?

“I don’t know how you found out about my transfer, but your info wasn’t wrong. I did receive transfer orders, but I delayed it for a few days just to see if any fools would walk into my trap. Turns out I caught one.”

Xia Yuan casually walked up to the poacher and kicked him aside, revealing a backpack underneath. When he opened it, a pile of Poké Balls scattered across the ground.

“You guys did pretty well, huh? This’ll get you four to five years easily.” Xia Yuan counted the number of Poké Balls and whistled.

“Damn it, why couldn’t you just follow through with your transfer?!”

Xia Yuan's words were like the last straw, causing the poacher leader to let out a desperate roar.

With his scream, a shadow darted toward Xia Yuan from the side. The three heads of the Dodrio charged at him, six eyes filled with murderous intent, as they pecked at him ferociously.

“Die!” This was his final tactic!

Using his injured arm to paralyze his opponent’s reaction, he directed the Dodrio for a fatal attack! If he could take down the ‘demon’ in front of him, not only could he escape, but he would also make a name for himself in the Hunter world, becoming the savior of all poachers in Kanto!

However, reality seemed to differ from his expectations.

When Xia Yuan saw this, his expression remained calm. Instead, he sighed, “When you can’t defeat a Pokémon, you guys always resort to attacking the Trainer. Such an old trick.”

Before he finished speaking, the air beside Xia Yuan distorted, and a blue figure suddenly appeared between him and the Dodrio, raising its arm.

“Psychic!”

A blue light flashed.

Buzz.

As if someone had pressed a pause button, the charging Dodrio was enveloped in a blue aura, frozen mid-air and unable to move.

Its once fierce six eyes were now filled with terror.

“Thanks, Gardevoir. I’ll leave it to you.”

Gardevoir turned to her Trainer with a gentle smile, then turned back and, using Psychic, spun the Dodrio in mid-air like a windmill.

As Dodrio's terrified screams echoed in the air, the poacher leader’s menacing expression instantly turned pale.

“Tsk. Now let’s add another charge: attempted murder of a League official. You’re not getting out for at least ten years now,” Xia Yuan said, patting the poacher leader on the shoulder.

The poacher leader trembled, wanting to say something, but when he glanced at Gardevoir, he didn’t dare utter a word.

Rumor had it that the 'demon' had a particularly mischievous shiny Gardevoir. Could it be this one?

Listening to Dodrio’s wails, the poacher leader felt that the rumor was probably true.

Xia Yuan, however, was used to this by now.

His Gardevoir wasn’t just unique in color; her personality was also a bit... different from other Gardevoirs.

Of course, this had nothing to do with him as her Trainer.

Although poachers often slandered him, claiming he had corrupted an originally kind-hearted Gardevoir into her current menacing form, Xia Yuan knew the truth. Back when he first hatched her as a Ralts, she had already been using Psychic to chase a group of Poliwag around, turning an entire pond into chaos, acting like the tyrant of the pond.

Now, Gardevoir was only playing around with the Dodrio, which showed how well he had trained her.

Ignoring Gardevoir's antics, Xia Yuan dialed Officer Jenny to come pick up the poachers, while he opened the scattered Poké Balls one by one to release the captured Pokémon.

Vulpix, Jigglypuff, Clefairy… and even an Abra!

All of them were highly valuable on the black market, making it no surprise that these guys took the risk.

Perhaps due to hearing Dodrio’s cries, the released Pokémon were all too frightened to move. Even the notoriously fast-escaping Abra stayed put.

Xia Yuan didn’t mind their reactions. Their stillness made his work easier. He took out his phone and snapped photos of the poached Pokémon for evidence before waving his hand.

“Off you go now, be careful not to get caught next time.”

With Xia Yuan’s permission, the Pokémon scattered at once.

As a newcomer who had transmigrated for two and a half years, Xia Yuan had gradually gotten used to his days as a ranger, chasing down poachers with his Gardevoir in the nature reserve.

“After spending so much time here, I’m actually a bit reluctant to leave,” Xia Yuan said, looking at the forest before him.

The poachers, now handcuffed and sprayed with first aid, shuddered upon hearing this. They internally pleaded, “Please, just leave already! If you stay any longer, someone’s going to die.”

However, Officer Jenny, who was registering the poachers, seemed to have a different sentiment. She nodded in agreement. “Yeah, with you around, the poachers wouldn’t dare be so bold.”

She, too, was a bit reluctant to see Xia Yuan leave.

After working together for two years, the man in front of her had almost single-handedly wiped out the poachers in the reserve, striking fear into their hearts, and greatly reducing her workload.

Now that Xia Yuan was leaving, the loss of his deterrent would likely lead to a surge in poachers in the reserve.

Jenny asked, “I heard you’re being transferred to the International Police?”

“Yeah, though I have no idea what those guys are thinking. Making a ranger like me join the International Police… isn’t that just ridiculous?” Xia Yuan shook his head with his hands behind his back.

Jenny rolled her eyes.

For officers like her, being transferred to the International Police was a career goal, but Xia Yuan acted like it was a burden.

“Maybe they think someone as strong as you is wasted as a ranger,” Jenny, who had witnessed his strength firsthand, remarked.

With Team Rocket's activities becoming increasingly rampant, the League was short on manpower and couldn’t afford to keep a powerful Trainer like Xia Yuan stationed in the reserve.

As the chairman of the Pokémon Association had put it, “Poachers? Just a minor nuisance!”

It was organized, well-funded criminal groups like Team Rocket that posed the real threat to the League.

After registering the last poacher, Jenny closed her notebook and extended her hand. “In any case, I’ll take these guys off your hands. Good luck with the International Police!”

“Same to you, good luck!” Xia Yuan replied with a smile.

The two shook hands, and as Jenny left, the system’s notification sounded in Xia Yuan’s mind.

[3: Fist Plate]

“Is this even a question? Of course, I’m picking Viridian Force!”

This was such an obvious choice that even a Youngster would know what to pick. While the Fist Plate was a decent option, he only had one Gardevoir, after all.

As for the Elite Four-level Jynx...

Xia Yuan preferred to train his own Pokémon. It definitely wasn’t because Jynx didn’t match his aesthetic. Definitely not!

As a warm energy flowed through his body, Xia Yuan felt something new within him.

He opened the system panel.
