The Weapon Master Shall Never Die Bare-Handed in Genshin Impact [46]
Added 2024-12-03 23:52:39 +0000 UTCThe Hydro Abyss Mage’s gaze locked onto Jia Changjiang.
The man wielding the massive battle axe radiated an aura that felt foreign to this world.
“I know you’re in there, Abyss Mage. Get out!”
Jia Changjiang stood with one foot on a downed Hilichurl Berserker, shouting toward the house.
“I’ve already dealt with most of the Hilichurls here... So now, Abyss Mage...”
He pointed his axe at the house, directly at where the Abyss Mage was hiding.
“It’s your turn!”
Hoisting the colossal battle axe onto his shoulder, Jia Changjiang smirked provocatively.
The weapon resting on his shoulder—Eikathos Axe—also caught the Abyss Mage’s attention.
The axe was stained with the blood of a powerful creature, one so formidable it could rival a god.
---
“You’re not coming out? Then don’t blame me for being rude!”
As the Abyss Mage cautiously observed him, Jia Changjiang lost patience. He grabbed the Hilichurl Berserker and hurled its large body straight at the house.
The fragile structure couldn’t withstand the impact and collapsed under the Hilichurl’s weight, leaving a gaping hole.
But Jia Changjiang wasn’t done. Leaping into the air, he brought his axe down in a fierce strike toward the Abyss Mage.
Forget that elemental shield—I'll deal with it later. Let’s see what happens when I strike first!
The small house crumbled entirely under the attack.
Yet something felt off to Jia Changjiang. His axe had struck, but the sensation wasn’t right.
When the dust settled, the Abyss Mage and Jia Changjiang came into view.
The Abyss Mage’s elemental shield was bent and twisted from the axe’s force, but it still held firm, deflecting the blow.
Jia Changjiang frowned, noting the strange sensation of hitting the shield.
Soft. Hollow...
It felt like cutting into a pile of cotton.
“Outlander! What do you seek?!”
The Abyss Mage’s voice was hoarse and sharp, grating on the nerves.
"Outlander?”
The term solidified the Abyss Mage’s suspicion that Jia Changjiang was from another world. Both Lumine and Paimon were stunned.
“To fight you... and for some personal reasons involving Mondstadt,” Jia Changjiang replied, grinning savagely as he lifted his axe again.
He slammed the weapon against the shield, warping it further, though it still refused to break.
“It’s useless! Even if your weapon is no ordinary tool—stained with the blood of a near-divine being—you’re just a mere mortal! You can’t break through!”
The Abyss Mage sneered, sensing no trace of elemental energy from Jia Changjiang.
It seemed this man was just a lucky mortal who happened upon a powerful weapon.
“You’ve interfered with the Abyss Order’s plans, and that’s not something I can let slide!”
Gathering Hydro energy, the Abyss Mage prepared a fatal spell.
But in the next instant, something shattered the elemental shield and pierced the Abyss Mage’s chest, pinning it to the ground.
The force was so immense that the Abyss Mage’s body crumpled as if struck by a sledgehammer.
“What?! Stop! What is this thing?!”
The Abyss Mage felt its strength rapidly draining away as its Hydro energy poured into the object embedded in its chest.
The Abyss Mage grew weaker, its powers fading.
Jia Changjiang approached, holding the item responsible:
“A... mop?”
Lumine, observing through her elemental sight, saw the Hydro energy flowing from the Abyss Mage into the mop.
[High-Quality Mop]
“I knew it... A five-star mop couldn’t be so simple.”
Jia Changjiang watched the Abyss Mage, now powerless and pinned to the ground, incapable of resisting even a Hilichurl.
“Tch, that was too easy. Where’s the fun in that?”
“Jia Changjiang, is it true... that you’re from another world?”
Lumine walked up to him, her expression questioning.
Jia Changjiang nodded. “Yeah. I haven’t exactly been hiding it, though I don’t go around advertising it either.”
“So straightforward... No wonder you and the Traveler have such incredible abilities,” Paimon remarked.
“Does it matter which world I’m from? As long as I can keep challenging strong opponents, I’m happy.”
“All right, Paimon, step aside. It’s interrogation time.”
Once the Abyss Mage was fully drained of its power, Jia Changjiang pinned it down with his foot.
“Hey, Abyss Mage... You’re the ones who corrupted Dvalin, right?”
He recalled bits of the story from the original plot.
“You can’t escape now. Tell me—how do we undo the corruption?”
Jia Changjiang set the mop aside and hovered his axe inches above the Abyss Mage’s chest.
“Speak, and I might consider letting you go.”
“Foolish outlander! You have no idea what you’re meddling wi—AARGH!”
Before it could finish, Jia Changjiang’s axe cleaved through one of its arms.
Its screams echoed through the ruins.
“If you don’t want to die, spill everything you know,” Jia Changjiang said coldly, lifting the axe again.
“I’m only sparing you because you’re useful to my friends. You’re nothing to me.”
“Outlander!!! The Abyss Order won’t let you escape! AARGH!”
The axe fell again, severing another arm.
Even in its dire state, the Abyss Mage remained tight-lipped. But Jia Changjiang managed to extract one critical detail before its death:
“The Prince... will avenge me! Outlander, you cannot escape! The Abyss Order will remember you!”
Left with no choice, Jia Changjiang ended its life.
“Mr. Jax... you were terrifying just now,” Paimon whimpered, hiding behind Lumine.
“Sorry for scaring you, Paimon,” Jia Changjiang said, lightly poking her soft cheek.
“I got a little carried away because of Dvalin’s corruption.”
“Because of Dvalin? Is this about Venti?” Lumine asked.
“Partially. Also because Dvalin, the East Wind Dragon, was once a mighty protector.”
Reaching into a box that contained Dvalin’s crystallized tears, Jia Changjiang pulled out a blood-red gem.
“I don’t know Venti well enough to meddle in his past, but as his friend, I can choose to help him in the present.”
Clenching the gem in his fist, he made a vow:
“No matter what it takes, even if I have to drag that dragon out of the Abyss myself—I’ll do it!”
