The Weapon Master Shall Never Die Bare-Handed in Genshin Impact [56]

The furious roar of a dragon echoed around the towering spire.
“Are you here to pay the price for Mondstadt?!!!”
Inside the tower, several Abyss Mages appeared in flashes of dark energy.
“Heh heh heh…”
One of the Abyss Mages sneered. “The Dragon of the East Wind shall serve its new master, not a powerless god who can only lament their own weakness!”
“Since you insist on defying us, let your former companion tear you apart piece by piece!”
The Abyss Mages raised their staffs and chanted incomprehensible incantations. Around the tower, massive, intricate patterns resembling magical arrays began to materialize, rising higher and higher as their incantations grew louder.
Stormterror clutched the tower with its claws. Its enormous head, large enough to swallow a person whole, thrust through the broken opening at the top, glaring menacingly at Venti and the others.
“Are you prepared to face my wrath now?”
Stormterror—Dvalin—unleashed a guttural roar, baring its sharp, terrifying teeth.
“Stop hesitating—attack!” Jia Changjiang shouted, breaking the tense silence. “Unless you plan to stand there and wait for these Abyss Mages to finish their ritual!”
With that, Jia Changjiang charged toward the lead Cryo Abyss Mage.
His cry snapped the others out of their stupor, and they quickly sprang into action.
“It’s already… too late. Heh heh heh…”
The Abyss Mage’s taunting voice cut through the commotion. “Outlanders… Anemo Archon… Mondstadt will be your grave!”
Before Jia Changjiang’s attack could land, the massive ritual circle solidified.
Flames, bubbles, and shards of ice—three distinct elemental forces—collided chaotically within the array, their combined power surging toward Jia Changjiang and Venti, as if intent on burying everyone inside the tower.
“Save this grave for yourself!!”
Jia Changjiang stomped on a stone tile, shattering it as he leapt high into the air. Swinging his weapon, he deflected part of the incoming attack and landed on the Cryo Abyss Mage’s elemental shield.
With a swift motion, Jia Changjiang scattered Flaming Flower powder onto the shield, weakening its defense. His giant axe embedded itself into the barrier before striking the Abyss Mage’s shoulder.
But the next moment, jagged icicles erupted from the shield, forcing Jia Changjiang to retreat.
“There’s no point in engaging them directly. We need to leave the tower now!”
Diluc, wielding his flaming claymore, pushed back another Abyss Mage and called to the others.
“To the skies!”
Venti notched an arrow, infused it with Anemo energy, and fired it at a Pyro Abyss Mage, driving it back. “I’ll summon a wind current to carry us into the air.”
“But Mr. Jax doesn’t have a Wind Glider!” Jean protested, just as Stormterror began to charge a devastating breath attack from above.
“There’s no time! Grab Jax and jump!”
Without further delay, Venti summoned powerful gusts of wind that lifted everyone with Wind Gliders into the sky just as Stormterror’s breath obliterated the tower below.
“Jia Changjiang!!”
The shout reached him even as he fought off Abyss Mages. He saw the group preparing to take flight and immediately understood their plan.
Using the Abyss Mages’ elemental shields as stepping stones, he leapt into the air. In one swift motion, his battle axe disappeared into his system’s inventory, and he grabbed onto Diluc’s legs.
With Diluc carrying him, Jia Changjiang was lifted into the sky, narrowly avoiding the dragon’s devastating attack.
Stormterror’s breath cut through the tower, reducing it to rubble, but its intended targets had already escaped.
“Barbatos!!”
Stormterror snarled, glaring at the group as they soared higher and higher toward the clouds on gusts of wind. “You will not escape!!!!”
Its massive wings unfurled, whipping up a violent storm as it launched itself into the air in pursuit.
“Ha ha…”
The injured Cryo Abyss Mage clutched its wound, smirking at the sight of Stormterror chasing after them.
“Do they think this ritual was meant for them?”
“This ritual… was for Stormterror all along…”
With a sinister chuckle, the Abyss Mage added, “They foolishly revealed their plan to save the Dragon of the East Wind from the start. Now, after the ritual’s catalyst, not even the Anemo Archon’s intervention can save that dragon anymore! Hahaha…”
Its sharp, mocking laughter echoed through the remains of the tower.
“Let’s go! We need to follow them and make sure that outlander dies!”
As the Cryo Abyss Mage’s wounds slowly stopped bleeding, its body began to float. “The Dragon of the East Wind will become the Abyss Order’s ultimate weapon… and the unexpected outlander will be crushed beneath the wheels of destiny!”

“Stormterror’s gaining on us!”
Jia Changjiang, clinging to Diluc’s legs, turned to look at the massive dragon closing the gap behind them.
“What do we do?! Bard, think of something!” Paimon cried from Lumine’s shoulder, panic in her voice.
“In the skies, Dvalin has the advantage,” Venti explained calmly. “Elemental life forms born of this world follow natural laws: those that sink become slimes; those that rise become crystalflies. Unique entities like Dvalin, forged of immense elemental energy, are strong enough to rival the gods themselves…”
“Can you stop explaining? Dvalin’s already firing wind bullets at us!” Paimon shrieked.
“I know of a place nearby,” Venti said quickly, “a high platform in the sea of clouds. We might be able to land there and fight back against Dvalin.”
“Why would the wind dragon follow us to a place where we can attack it?!”
Before Paimon could finish her protest, Diluc suddenly adjusted his flight path, startling everyone.
“Jia Changjiang?” Diluc frowned. “What are you doing?”
Hanging from Diluc’s legs, Jia Changjiang had shifted his position to face the pursuing dragon.
“Getting Dvalin to follow us? Easy.”
Pulling out a scrap of parchment, Jia Changjiang rolled it into a makeshift megaphone and yelled:
“Stormterror!!!”
“Come and get me, you oversized lizard!!!!”
