The Weapon Master Shall Never Die Bare-Handed in Genshin Impact [85]

"Paimon!!!"

Seeing Paimon get swallowed by the colossal hydro slime, Lumine’s fury ignited.

How dare a mere slime take my emergency rations?!

She hadn’t even had the chance to taste Paimon herself yet!

"Give me back my Paimon!"

With a sharp draw, Lumine unsheathed her sword and charged at the massive slime, determined to save her companion.

Her blade sliced into the slime’s gelatinous body, dealing significant damage.

The attack enraged the slime, causing it to bounce furiously. Its vibrations echoed like a signal, summoning an entire horde of slimes from the surrounding area.

In moments, Jia Changjiang and Lumine found themselves surrounded by a swarm of slimes.

"Paimon!"

Lumine ignored the encroaching mob, focusing solely on the enormous slime. With another precise strike, she tore the slime open and yanked Paimon from its gooey core.

Paimon, now bloated and dripping with slime fluid, coughed weakly as Lumine held her up.

"Hang in there, Paimon!"

Lumine flipped Paimon upside down and gave her a firm shake, dislodging a gush of water from her tiny frame.

"Glug… I… I feel like I was flying…" Paimon muttered deliriously. Her cheeks were puffed, and she hiccupped faintly. "So full… but it tasted kinda good…"

With that, Paimon fainted.

"Hey! Paimon! Are you okay?" Lumine shook her harder, then hesitated as she noticed something strange.

Her gaze lingered on Paimon’s round, sticky cheeks, still glistening with the slime’s fluid. Unable to resist her curiosity, Lumine leaned in and gave Paimon’s face a quick lick.

"Slurp~"

"Oh?!" Lumine blinked in surprise.

The slime residue was unexpectedly tasty, and Paimon’s skin was soft and smooth beneath her tongue.

Curious, she leaned in for another taste.

"Stop licking Paimon. We’re surrounded," Jia Changjiang interjected flatly, his expression unreadable.

Though he was unfazed by Lumine’s antics—this girl is a true menace, he thought—he remained focused on the encircling slimes.

He’d long since resigned himself to Lumine’s chaotic nature, finding it hard to muster any real reaction unless she found a way to outdo herself.

"Wolvendom really has this many slimes?" Lumine asked, gripping her sword as she scanned the growing mob.

Her thoughts briefly wandered to the surprisingly delicious slime residue, and a sly glint appeared in her eyes. Looks like I’ve found another food source for the wild.

The situation escalated as some of the slimes grew larger, their bodies swelling with rage. Within moments, several of them were towering three to four meters tall. Each hop sent tremors through the ground.

"Impressive," Jia Changjiang said, drawing his battle axe with a grin. "Didn’t expect Wolvendom’s slimes to be this big or strong. Guess it’s time to relive my first fight in this world."

His first battle in Teyvat had been against a slime. With the same excitement as before, he charged forward, ready for combat.

But before he could reach the nearest slime, a sudden burst of lightning struck from above, landing squarely in the middle of the horde.

The crackling energy sent the slimes flying, scattering them across the field. Startled, the slimes reverted to their smaller forms and fled in panic, as though recognizing the arrival of a natural predator.

Lumine turned toward the source of the lightning.

A young boy stood amidst the chaos, holding a greatsword that crackled with purple sparks. His long gray hair flowed beneath a hooded cloak, strands peeking out in a way that resembled wolf ears.

A glowing Electro Vision hung at his waist, surging with elemental power.

"An Electro Vision?" Lumine muttered, narrowing her eyes.

The boy turned to face them, but before he could speak, Jia Changjiang stepped forward, his axe slung casually over his shoulder.

"You look strong," Jia Changjiang said with a grin, bringing the back of his axe down toward the boy. "Let me test your strength."

Caught off guard, the boy raised his greatsword horizontally to block the strike. Jia Changjiang increased the pressure, causing the boy’s feet to sink slightly into the dirt.

Even so, the boy stood firm, holding his ground against the overwhelming force.

"You…" the boy began, his voice steady but questioning.

Before he could say more, the howls of wolves echoed through the forest, cutting through the tension.

"Uh-oh!" Paimon, groggily waking up, clutched at Lumine. "Why are there so many wolves?! Did you guys disturb their den?!"

"It wasn’t me this time! It’s Jia Changjiang!" Lumine shot back.

As the howls grew louder, the boy let out a commanding howl of his own. The surrounding forest quieted in response, the wolves retreating at his signal.

"Who are you?" the boy asked, his tone cautious. "And why… hit me with your axe?"

"We’re just travelers!" Paimon blurted out, still dangling awkwardly under Lumine’s arm. "Mr. Jax didn’t mean to!"

The boy’s piercing gaze shifted to Jia Changjiang.

"You’re not enemies," he said after a pause, his nose twitching slightly. "I smell the Knights of Favonius on you."

"Wait, you’re with the knights?" Lumine asked curiously.

"No," the boy replied, shaking his head. "I am Razor. But the knights are… friends. Teachers."

"Friends?" Lumine tilted her head.

"Teachers?" Paimon mirrored her, equally puzzled.

"Razor, huh?" Jia Changjiang said, clapping a hand on Razor’s shoulder. "You’re pretty strong. Sorry for attacking out of nowhere—I couldn’t help myself. Wanna spar with me?"

"No," Razor said firmly, shaking his head. "The fight… scared boars away."

His gaze turned toward the forest, a hint of worry in his eyes. "Wolves… will be hungry."
