The Weapon Master Shall Never Die Bare-Handed in Genshin Impact [94]

“There’s its scent up ahead.”
Having grown up in Wolvendom, Razor could sense the danger emanating from deeper in the forest.
“Someone is fighting it!”
His worry wasn’t just for the leader—he was also deeply concerned about his Lupical, who had sought refuge near the Wolf King.
Unlike Razor, who was on edge, Lumine and Paimon exchanged a knowing look.
“Fighting? And that strange arrow just now… Don’t tell me…”
“Razor,” Paimon asked hesitantly, “who exactly is this ‘it’ you keep mentioning?”
“It is the leader of Wolvendom, the one who set the rules for the wolves,” Razor explained earnestly.
Lumine nodded thoughtfully before asking, “And… is it strong?”
“Yes.” Razor nodded firmly. “But usually, it doesn’t fight anyone. Unless…” He hesitated.
“Someone woke it up. And now they’re fighting it.”
When Razor confirmed this, Lumine and Paimon both broke out into a nervous sweat.
They vividly remembered that before heading off to find Amber, Jia Changjiang had gone to speak with Razor.
Now Razor was here… so where was Jia Changjiang?
From the moment Jia Changjiang had eagerly agreed to come to Wolvendom, something had felt off.
The person who woke the leader and started a fight with it… was almost certainly Jia Changjiang!
At that moment, Lumine and Paimon silently reached the same conclusion.
“Lumine, why aren’t you saying anything?” Razor asked, puzzled by her sudden silence.
Paimon’s gaze shifted awkwardly to the side, avoiding eye contact.
Lumine, however, suddenly grabbed Razor by the shoulders. “Don’t worry, Razor. I’ll help you!”
Her expression was serious, and her face practically radiated sincerity.
“I won’t let those hunters hurt your Lupical. You can trust me!” she declared. “After all, I am the Honorary Knight who resolved the Dragon Crisis…”
Though Lumine wasn’t sure exactly when Jia Changjiang had gone to find the Wolf King, she wasn’t surprised that he’d ended up fighting it.
Jia Changjiang might be battle-hungry, but he wasn’t reckless.
For now, they needed to focus on driving the hunters away.
If Jia Changjiang and the Wolf King found out about the hunters’ plans for revenge against the wolf pack, the situation could spiral out of control… and Amber would have a hard time smoothing things over.
Lumine clenched her fists.
I can’t let a cute girl like Amber be put in a difficult position!
Moreover, even though she had only just met Razor, Lumine could tell from his words how much his Lupical meant to him.
While this wasn’t her problem to begin with, Lumine didn’t want to see things take a turn for the worse.
Sensing Lumine’s good intentions, Razor nodded, though he still seemed a little confused.
“Thank you… Lumine.” He carefully committed her name to memory.
“No problem…” Lumine replied, shaking her head.
Suddenly, from the depths of Wolvendom where the arrow had been fired, a thunderous wolf howl erupted, echoing through the entire forest.
“I need… to go there.” Razor, visibly alarmed, prepared to sprint toward the sound. Lumine and Amber quickly followed close behind.
As they ran, they noticed massive wolf paw prints scattered along the path, each one larger than the last. The trail led them deeper into Wolvendom, toward the ruins.
“Stop! You can’t go any further!”
Just as they were about to enter the ruins, a soft, childish voice rang out from nearby.
“Don’t you dare hurt Razor’s fluffies!”
Turning toward the source of the voice, they spotted a small girl in a red outfit, her blonde hair peeking out from under a red hat. She wore an oversized, ill-fitting mask, and her tiny hands held up a Pyro Vision threateningly as she stood surrounded by wolves.
“If you come any closer… Klee will blow you up with her bombs!”
At her feet lay an injured wolf with a hastily bandaged leg. The floral-patterned handkerchief tied around the wound was clumsily applied—clearly Klee’s handiwork.
“Klee?!” Amber gasped. “What are you doing here?!”
“It’s… Klee,” Razor said, pleasantly surprised.
“Klee?” Lumine and Paimon exchanged puzzled looks before Lumine suddenly remembered.
“Oh! Right! I saw her at that welcome party last time. I thought someone from the Knights had brought their kid along!”
“Eh?”
Hearing the familiar voices, Klee lifted the oversized mask off her face.
The mask, far too large for her, had completely blocked her vision, making it impossible for her to see anything in front of her.
Now that she could see, Klee recognized the people before her.
“Razor! Sister Amber! And Honorary Knight Sister!”
Delighted, Klee darted out from among the wolves and threw herself into Amber’s arms.
“Klee? Why are you here? And… how do you know Razor?” Amber asked, utterly baffled. If her memory served her right, Klee was supposed to be confined to the Knight’s quarters as punishment…
“Klee is here to protect Razor’s fluffies! Klee and Razor are friends!” Klee said, puffing out her chest proudly.
“A Pyro Vision… a little girl… and a friend of Razor’s… So that’s who Razor was talking about earlier!” Lumine finally pieced it together.
“Mm,” Razor confirmed with a nod.
“Klee, this place is dangerous. Why did you come here? And why are there…” Amber glanced at the surrounding wolves, momentarily at a loss for words.
“It was Uncle Jax who said so!” Klee declared, holding up the oversized mask.
“Uncle Jax said that if Klee could protect Razor’s fluffies, I’d get to pet a really big and cool fluffy!”
“A big, cool fluffy? What’s that supposed to mean?” Lumine asked, only for her question to be drowned out by a ferocious wolf’s roar echoing through the forest.
Accompanying the howl was a wild, familiar laugh.
Recalling the enormous paw prints they’d seen earlier, Paimon’s eyes widened in realization.
“A big, cool fluffy… don’t tell me it’s the leader Razor mentioned!”
“Impossible! Even if Jax is unpredictable, there’s no way he’d… uh…” Amber started to defend Jia Changjiang but trailed off, reconsidering based on his usual antics.
Meanwhile, Lumine…
“A giant fluffy? So the leader of Wolvendom is a big wolf?” Her eyes lit up with excitement as she finally connected the dots.
“Does that mean… I can roll around in its fur?!”
