The Weapon Master Shall Never Die Bare-Handed in Genshin Impact [103]
Added 2024-12-16 22:36:04 +0000 UTCAs Paimon spotted the familiar dragon horn among Lumine’s materials, she couldn’t help but blurt out, "Traveler! When did you get ahold of Dvalin’s dragon horn?"
"I got it ages ago," Lumine replied matter-of-factly. "Back when Jax knocked it off Dvalin, I picked it up right away."
"Wait, what?!"
Paimon was stunned. "In that dangerous situation, you still had time to grab the dragon horn Mr. Jax smashed off?!"
"Why wouldn’t I?" Lumine responded, entirely self-assured. "A rare material like this—how could I possibly leave it behind?"
With a decisive sweep of her arm, she spread out all the materials she had collected on the ground. "I’ve always said it’s important to gather materials whenever you can. You never know when they’ll come in handy!"
"And anyway," she continued, "Dvalin’s horn has already regenerated, hasn’t it? He doesn’t need this broken piece anymore, right?"
Her logic left Paimon momentarily speechless. "You… have a point…"
"Dvalin’s horn?!"
Amber, who had been listening from the side, froze in place. "Lumine, are you planning to use that to craft a weapon?"
For Amber, who had grown up in Mondstadt, Dvalin’s story was practically part of her childhood. To see her friend casually pull out one of the East Wind Dragon’s horns—despite knowing Lumine and her companions had resolved the Stormterror crisis—still felt surreal.
"That’s right! I’m all set!" Lumine said, counting off her prepared materials.
A dragon horn from the East Wind Dragon, some Deep Red Blood purified from Dvalin, the plume gifted by Dvalin, and even some wolf fur and Cryo essence she had sneakily gathered while tussling with the Wolf King earlier.
Her stash also included an eclectic mix of items: ores, butterfly wings, lizard tails, and even low-tier weapons scavenged from treasure chests.
Among the pile, Jia Changjiang even spotted several Hilichurl weapons, prompting him to give a wry smile.
"Jax, Jax! Do you think these things will be enough to craft a new weapon?"
Her face radiated expectation and trust.
It’s been far too long since the Traveler had a proper weapon… she thought to herself. Finally presented with a chance to craft one, Lumine wasn’t about to let it slip away.
"You’ve really gathered a lot of materials," Jia Changjiang remarked, sifting through the pile. He couldn’t help but feel a pang of sympathy for the Hilichurls who’d been stripped of their weapons.
Looks like Lumine’s been working on her Teyvat Flora and Fauna Extinction Plan for a while now…
"Hm? What’s this?" Jia Changjiang’s attention was drawn to a particular item. He picked up a small branch with budding leaves that emanated a strange, vibrant energy.
[Sprout of the Ley Lines]: A fragment of a great tree once entwined with the world. Though severed, it still brims with vitality and has sprouted new leaves.
"Ah! I remember that!" Lumine said. "I got it from a Abyss Mage we defeated. It looked valuable, so I kept it."
"This branch has an incredible energy to it…" Jia Changjiang mused. "Lumine, could I have a bit of it?"
"Sure, since you’re making me a weapon anyway," Lumine replied, unusually generous. "And besides, you’re the one who took out that Abyss Mage in the first place."
"Wow, Traveler, so generous for once," Paimon teased.
While they bantered, Jia Changjiang continued sorting through Lumine’s extensive collection of materials.
Crystals, magical ore, Dvalin’s horn, the East Wind Feather, the Wolf King’s fur, Cryo essence, the Ley Line Sprout…
Among the more mundane items, he even found a one-handed sword prototype. Where did Lumine even find this? While the prototype had lost most of its power, it still made for an excellent base to forge a high-quality weapon.
With all these materials, Jia Changjiang was confident he could craft something exceptional for Lumine.
"Lumine, what about the sword you’ve been using? Don’t you want to use it as part of the new weapon?" he asked casually.
Lumine froze for a moment, then shook her head vehemently. "No, absolutely not!"
She hurriedly tucked the Sword of Descension back into her bag, her expression tense. "This sword came with me when I arrived in this world with my brother. I have to keep it safe."
"Ahem… right, let’s check on Razor’s weapon, shall we?"
Realizing he had touched a sensitive subject, Jia Changjiang awkwardly steered the conversation back to Razor’s weapon.
By now, the materials he had fed into his portable forge were almost fully melded together. The forging process was complete, marked by a microwave-like "ding" sound only Jia Changjiang could hear.
The system provided the final result:
[Winter’s Claw] (retained), [Beast Slayer] (retained), [Wolfhunt] (retained), [Tracker] (retained), [Guerilla Fighter] (removed).
Weapon Forged: The Predator’s Fang!
Jia Changjiang reached into the forge and pulled out a massive sword glowing with an icy blue hue. The chill of the blade seeped into his palm as he held it aloft.
The sword’s full description appeared in his mind:
[Predator’s Fang]: A weapon crafted by the Weapon Master for Razor. Imbued with the essence of the wolf, it is a blade that carries the spirit of the hunt.
Note: The wolf residing within the blade watches its prey, drawing strength from their defeat to heal its master. Foes marked by the wolf’s claws cannot escape its pursuit.
"This really is the perfect weapon for Razor," Jia Changjiang remarked, clearly impressed.
He turned to Razor, placing the greatsword in front of him with a grin.
"Razor… the organization has decided—you’re the jungler now!"
