The Weapon Master Shall Never Die Bare-Handed in Genshin Impact [116]

Under Jia Changjiang’s sheer force, Stanley couldn’t resist. He watched helplessly as his body arced through the air and plummeted toward the roaring flames below.

In a moment of despair, he clutched his head and shut his eyes tight, bracing for the inferno. But as his body entered the fire, he was struck by an unexpected sensation—it felt as though he had fallen into water.

When Stanley opened his eyes again, he found himself transformed into a ghostly silhouette, floating in the heart of Mondstadt.

“What… What’s going on?!” Stanley gasped, startled by his ethereal state and the sudden shift in his surroundings.

From somewhere unseen, a voice reached him—Jia Changjiang’s voice, direct and unyielding:

“Courage isn’t born; it is given. If you lack the courage to move forward… go and find it.”

Stanley turned instinctively, but there was no one there.

Jia Changjiang’s voice continued:

“In this world, someone will always give you courage—a small seed planted in your heart, one that will grow over time. And the fruit it bears will grant courage to others. So… go find your seed!”

“No matter how audacious I may be, the courage you need isn’t something I can give you!”

The voice faded away, leaving Stanley alone.

Before him, a group of children were playing. Among them, one child stood out, speaking loudly to the others.

“Uncle Stanley is the most amazing adventurer I’ve ever met! He knows so many stories and has been to so many incredible places!”

“Yeah! He told us about the Ashen Sea—it’s so scary and awesome!”

“I heard there’s no wind there at all! Even Lord Barbatos couldn’t bring back the souls trapped there!”

“But Uncle Stanley made it back!” The child’s face shone with excitement, eyes filled with the spark of dreams. “When I grow up, I want to be just like Uncle Stanley—a legendary adventurer who explores every corner of the world!”

“Me too! I want to be a great adventurer!”

The child’s voice was clear and pure, devoid of any doubt or hesitation.

Stanley watched from the side, guilt twisting his heart.

As the scene shifted, the children faded, replaced by Eileen, the aspiring knight.

“Stanley’s stories are always so inspiring! Just listening to them makes my heart race!”

“He’s a legendary adventurer—famed across Mondstadt! One day, I hope to be as incredible as him!”

Then came Jack.

“My parents never wanted me to be an adventurer, but thanks to you, they’ve changed their minds!” Jack’s voice brimmed with joy. “I know I’m not strong yet, but I’ll work hard! And I want to hear more of Stanley’s stories… because he was the beginning of my dream!”

“See you tomorrow, sir! Please tell me more of your adventures!”

One by one, the voices of children, dreamers, and admirers echoed around Stanley, reminding him of the countless times he had shared Stanley’s stories in Mondstadt.

He had told them for two years, three years… ten years… even longer.

How many children had heard Stanley’s tales? How many of them had been inspired to chase their dreams of adventure?

Stanley couldn’t count.

Those clear, trusting eyes burned into him, hotter than the flames he had just faced. The unwavering belief in their gaze left him speechless.

The stories he told—true or not—had already planted the seeds of courage in those children. And how many of those children had grown into adventurers, chasing their dreams?

Stanley didn’t know. But one thing became clear to him:

He couldn’t let their faith in him be in vain.

Jia Changjiang was right—someone in this world would always offer courage.

He, once Hans Archibald and now Stanley, knew it was time to move forward.

When Stanley awoke from the vision, the world around him returned to normal. But Jia Changjiang was nowhere to be seen.

In front of him lay a simple sword.

It wasn’t ornate or special—just a basic weapon one might find in any blacksmith’s shop. Yet the hilt faced Stanley, as though beckoning him to pick it up.

Attached to the hilt was a small, crumpled note. The handwriting was shaky and awkward, as if written by someone unfamiliar with Mondstadt’s script.

“Not at Windrise?! Ugh, that bard and his riddles!” Paimon grumbled as she and Lumine searched the city.

The two had confidently teleported to Windrise, thinking it was the “usual spot” Venti mentioned, only to find nothing. Now they were running to their next guess.

Finally, after a long search, they found Venti lounging in the palm of Mondstadt’s statue of the Anemo Archon. Feet dangling lazily, he gazed at the night sky with an air of complete relaxation.

“Ah, you made it! Hmm? Where’s Jax? Didn’t he come with you?” Venti asked, turning to look at them.

Paimon huffed. “Jax said he had something to do and told us to go on ahead!”

“By the way, did you get your wine, bard?”

Venti sighed dramatically. “I did… but what they called a rare, prized vintage turned out to be half a bottle of apple cider.”

Lumine chuckled. “So even you get scammed sometimes, huh, Venti?”

“Unbelievable. I thought Jack was too pure to lie…” Venti shook his head, only to spot Jia Changjiang approaching the square below.

“Well, speak of the devil. Looks like Jax is here too,” Venti said, stretching lazily as Jia Changjiang climbed up to join them.

“Am I late?” Jia Changjiang asked, settling onto the statue’s palm.

“Not at all. In fact, you’re just in time,” Venti replied, gesturing to the view before them.

From their perch atop the statue, all of Mondstadt stretched out beneath the night sky.

“Beautiful, isn’t it?” Venti said softly, his voice carrying the weight of centuries.

“The first time I looked out at this view… I wasn’t in this form.”

Jia Changjiang and Lumine exchanged glances before sitting down to take in the breathtaking sight.

The gentle breeze carried with it the faint melody of freedom, and for a moment, the group simply sat in quiet appreciation of the city and its ever-present wind.
