The Weapon Master Shall Never Die Bare-Handed in Genshin Impact [123]

“Acting Grand Master Jean! We’re here to see you!”

Lumine pushed open the door to Jean’s office as she called out. Inside, she saw Jean seated at her desk, surrounded by piles of documents.

Jean looked as composed as always, but there was a noticeable weariness about her—more so than usual.

“Lumine? Is there something you need?”

Jean was feeling overwhelmed by the mountain of paperwork in front of her, but seeing Lumine brought her a small measure of relief. Even so, she asked, “Did you run into some sort of trouble?”

“Well, we did encounter a few minor problems, but they’re mostly errands for other people…”

Paimon began rattling off the list of tasks they’d picked up: helping Margaret from the Cat’s Tail find her missing cat, retrieving the account ledgers for Charles at Angel’s Share, and investigating a hilichurl issue reported by Sara from Good Hunter. But before Paimon could finish, Lumine tugged on her leg, nearly pulling her out of the air.

“Nothing serious! Just some small commissions I took on,” Lumine said quickly. “Actually, we’re here to ask about something else!”

“Huh? Traveler, why did you—” Paimon was about to question Lumine’s sudden shift in topic when Lumine interrupted with a question of her own:

“Jean, does Mondstadt have some kind of officially recognized ranking for combat strength?”

Lumine casually moved around the desk to stand beside Jean as she asked.

“A ranking of Mondstadt’s strongest…? I’m sorry, but I don’t have any records like that here,” Jean replied with an apologetic tone.

“That’s alright. You look so tired already; you shouldn’t push yourself further.”

Lumine placed a gentle hand on Jean’s shoulder and began to massage it, noticing how tense she was. “If there’s anything I can help with, just let me know, okay? And honestly, you’re already doing such a great job! I heard so many people outside expressing their gratitude for you.”

“Thank you for your kindness. But as Acting Grand Master, I must remain strong,” Jean said, smiling faintly. “Still, your encouragement gives me a bit more energy to keep going.”

“Ugh…” Paimon groaned as she watched Lumine’s behavior, her face a mixture of disbelief and exasperation.

When it comes to girls, Lumine’s whole demeanor changes... it’s like she’s unlocked some kind of cheat code for charm!

“Well then, Lumine, thank you for the massage. Don’t you have other matters to attend to?” Jean asked with a smile. “I’ll be fine, though I did accidentally run out of my coffee quota for the week… Hmm...”

Jean thought for a moment before saying, “If you have time, could you bring me some coffee?”

“Of course!” Lumine agreed readily. As she and Paimon left the office, Lumine gave Jean a quick hug from behind her chair, a content smile on her face as she finally exited.

“Alright! Energy replenished for Acting Grand Master Jean!” Lumine cheered, clenching her fist with determination. “Now, let’s go take care of the other tasks!”

“Traveler… why didn’t you tell Jean about all those errands earlier?” Paimon asked curiously. “Wouldn’t it be easier to let her handle them?”

Lumine shook her head. “Jean already looks so exhausted. If we add more to her plate, she might not hold up.”

“That’s why we should take care of these small jobs ourselves—to make things easier for her.”

“Wha—?!” Paimon gasped in shock. “You’re doing work without expecting a commission?! This is so unlike you!”

Flying closer, Paimon placed a tiny hand on Lumine’s forehead. “Traveler, are you running a fever?”

“I’m not sick!” Lumine swatted Paimon’s hand away. “Anyway, with Diluc’s promised 200,000 Mora, it’s fine to do Jean this favor for free.”

Just as Lumine and Paimon were about to leave the Knights of Favonius headquarters, a flurry of hurried footsteps echoed from upstairs.

Turning around, Lumine saw a familiar red blur bounding down the staircase.

“It’s Klee!”

Lumine recognized the energetic figure just as Klee spotted her.

“Ah! It’s Honorary Knight Sister!” Klee called out happily. She was so excited to wave that she slipped on the stairs, tumbling downward.

“Ahhh!” Klee yelped. But before she could hit the ground, she felt herself lifted into the air, backpack and all.

“Phew, that was close…”

Lumine had caught Klee by her backpack and let out a relieved sigh. “Klee, are you out of the confinement room already?”

“Yup!” Klee nodded vigorously after being set down. “Even though I got extra days for escaping the first time… and then another two days for accidentally setting off a bomb…”

“But now, my confinement is officially over!”

Klee beamed up at Lumine. “So, I’m going to dig up the treasure I buried in Whispering Woods before my confinement!”

“Treasure?” Paimon tilted her head in curiosity. “What kind of treasure?”

“A really, really amazing treasure!” Klee’s eyes sparkled with excitement. “I buried it before I got confined so I’d have it ready for my next big adventure!”

“Hmm… Is Klee’s ‘treasure’ a toy?” Paimon wondered aloud.

“Honorary Knight Sister, what are you and Paimon up to?” Klee tugged at Lumine’s sleeve, her face full of curiosity.

Lumine crouched down to meet Klee’s gaze. “Something fun! We’re helping people in Mondstadt with some errands!”

She gently pinched Klee’s cheek. “Jean seems really tired lately, so I thought we’d do some things to make her life a little easier.”

“Helping Jean…” Klee’s eyes lit up. “Can I join you?”

“What about your treasure? Aren’t you going to dig it up?” Paimon asked.

“No problem!” Klee waved her hand nonchalantly. “The treasure is waterproof! As long as nothing weird happens, it’s super safe!”

“I want to help Jean too!”

“Oh? Sounds like you’re planning something interesting.”

A playful male voice chimed in as Kaeya descended the staircase. “How about adding a few more people to the mix?”
