Drawing Over and Setting Goals in the New Year!

Here's the first video of 2024 - one of the goals I have for this Patreon, as I say near the end of the vid, is to do 4 monthly videos - 2 podcast type ones, like this post, 1 tutorial and 1 QnA - I think that's a manageable workload for me and it should allow me to get better at speaking and making videos in general, and hopefully provide enough good helpful content for you guys!

thanks for the feedback ian! yeah, i think my speaking is fine as it is, but i'd just like to improve on it in general over time, which will probably mostly happen by just doing more of it, like with drawing! it's actually my first time setting a number for my yearly drawings/paintings as well, but ive been having this issue of subjectivity with art goals for a while now, so i figured if i can set numbers on a fitness goal, why not on art :D

2024-01-04 19:39:48 +0000 UTCEy, thanks Jacob Schedule! I don't really think there's necessarily anything wrong with undoing, but often it makes more sense to leave marks alone until you lay in more of the drawing, and then come back and fix/change what you would have done with the undo

I hear your weekly teaching tuesdays and I’m always amazed on how you can come so clear e fast to solutions and tips. So, in my opinion, you shouldn’t spend so much energy on trying to improve it too much. It will come as you keep doing what you’re doing. Anyways, I’m all in favor of new years promises. It always helped me in my goals in life. But in regard to drawings, I have never tried to set a number as you did, and I think it will help me too. Sorry for the long text and congrats for the video again.

I have recently come to a lot of the same conclusions on starting drawings over and using sketches as diagrams instead of overlays. Briefly unbound my undo key, maybe I'll try that again. Anyway I'll try my best to stay off it for a while, this vid served as a good reminder xDD Edit: Also very helpful to hear your volume goals! The actual numbers helped contextualize what I could set as my own goals:)
