The Weapon Master Shall Never Die Bare-Handed in Genshin Impact [141]

“A… celebration party?”

Jean stared at the scene before her, stunned into silence.

She glanced around the room.

Lisa, Kaeya, Barbara, Noelle…

Suddenly, it all made sense. Why had everyone been acting so secretive around her lately? Now she knew.

“This is…”

Jean stepped into the tavern, taking in the decorations. She stood there for a while, dazed.

“Acting Grand Master Jean, this… is the surprise we prepared for you!”

Amber dashed up to her, grabbing Jean’s arm and pulling her toward the table, which was loaded with a variety of delicious dishes.

“Today, we’re throwing a celebration party for Jean! It’s to thank you for everything you’ve done for the Knights of Favonius and for Mondstadt!”

Amber placed a small gift box into Jean’s hands. “Jean! This is my present for you! Thank you for all your hard work over such a long time!”

“This…”

Jean blinked, caught off guard, as more gifts began piling into her arms.

Noelle shyly handed over a small bag of freshly baked cookies.

Lisa offered Jean a book—apparently a novel of some sort.

Kaeya presented her with a brand-new one-handed sword.

Barbara hesitated for what seemed like an eternity before gifting Jean a carefully chosen necklace.

Of course, not all the gifts were entirely conventional.

For instance, Lumine had initially wrapped herself up in a ribbon and was prepared to gift herself to Jean. That plan, however, was thwarted by a swift Paimon headbutt. Instead, she reluctantly handed over a large tea set perfect for brewing coffee, which Jean graciously accepted.

Faced with such an outpouring of thoughtfulness, Jean felt a mix of gratitude and embarrassment.

“Everyone…” Jean adjusted the pile of gifts in her arms to partially shield her reddening face, trying to hide her emotional reaction.

“Jean is… blushing?”

Amber gasped in surprise.

“Oh-ho~” Lisa chuckled, clearly amused. “Outside of work, Jean is just an ordinary young woman, isn’t she?”

“No, it’s just…” Jean stammered slightly. “I’m touched… Thank you, everyone, for your kindness.”

Hugging the gifts a little closer, she added, “I’ll cherish these gifts dearly.”

“Jean… Acting Grand Master Jean.”

While Jean was caught up in her emotions, someone tugged at the hem of her cape.

Jean glanced down to see Klee, her small face filled with hesitation.

Carefully setting her gifts aside, Jean crouched down to Klee’s eye level. “Klee, what’s the matter?”

Klee fidgeted, poking her fingers together nervously, before finally pulling out a small plush toy from her backpack. It was a handmade doll resembling Jean, complete with a tiny knight’s sword.

“This is… something Amber and Noelle helped me make. It’s a doll that looks like Acting Grand Master Jean…”

Klee’s voice was barely above a whisper. “It’s… my gift for you.”

Jean’s expression softened as she looked at the doll, her heart filling with warmth. She gently pulled Klee into a hug.

“Klee, thank you for this gift. I love it.”

“Really?”

Klee’s eyes lit up with hope. “Does Jean really like Klee’s gift? Then… does that mean I don’t have to go to solitary confinement anymore?”

Jean held Klee tightly and reassured her, “Klee, you haven’t done anything wrong today. And giving me such a thoughtful gift makes me so happy—why would I ever lock you up for that?”

Letting go, Jean picked up the plush doll and smiled. “Klee, your gift is wonderful. I truly love it.”

“Really?” Klee’s face brightened again. “So I won’t get locked up? Then… can Klee join the Windblume Festival?”

Jean chuckled and nodded. “Of course.”

“Yay!”

Klee jumped for joy, then declared, “Thank you, Jean!”

“Klee promises to be careful from now on and won’t let bombs go off near Mondstadt anymore!”

Jean froze for a moment, the cheerful atmosphere growing tense in an instant.

Lisa sighed, massaging her temples, while Kaeya broke into laughter.

Jean’s voice took on a dangerous lilt as she asked, “Klee~ What was that about bombs?”

“Ah!” Klee clapped her hands over her mouth, shooting frantic glances at the others, silently pleading for help.

“Klee… is she trying to signal us with her eyes?”

Paimon asked, tilting her head.

Lumine murmured, “But Jean can see it too, can’t she?”

“Klee~?”

Jean’s tone sent a shiver down Klee’s spine.

“A-Acting Grand Master Jean, Klee didn’t mean to…” Klee looked on the verge of tears.

Jean let out a sigh and placed her hands on Klee’s shoulders. “Fine. Considering that Klee’s bombs played a key role today, I’ll let it slide this time.”

“But!” Jean’s voice turned stern. “Next time, no planting bombs anywhere else!”

“Klee understands…” Klee lowered her head, looking contrite—but somehow, her expression suggested she wasn’t entirely repentant.

“Alright! Let’s get this party started!”

Jia Changjiang clapped his hands, breaking the tension. “Everyone put in a lot of effort to prepare this celebration!”

“The Knights of Favonius finished all their tasks in one go! Even the Abyss Order’s plans were thwarted!”

Jia Changjiang retrieved a large barrel of fine wine from his inventory space, slamming it onto the ground with a resounding thud.

“Trade routes, paperwork… even this venue was arranged with Diluc’s help! So, Jean, just relax and join us for the party!”

Jia Changjiang cheerfully pried open the barrel, releasing a fragrant aroma that filled the tavern.

“This scent… Jia Changjiang, where did you get such excellent wine?” Kaeya’s eyes sparkled with excitement.

“That’s a secret. Tonight, drinks are on me! Everyone, drink to your heart’s content!” Jia Changjiang declared with a grin. “Jean, just enjoy everyone’s gratitude tonight!”

“Today… let’s all unwind!”

Jia Changjiang raised his cup, laughing. “Set aside the Knights of Favonius’ burdens and responsibilities for now. Isn’t it nice to take a break once in a while?”

“Absolutely!”

Lumine, still wearing her half-unwrapped gift ribbon, chimed in confidently, “If it’s about how much we all care for Jean, I won’t lose to anyone!”

“And with that… the party begins!”
