The Weapon Master Shall Never Die Bare-Handed in Genshin Impact [145]

After securing enough Mora from Diluc to cover their travel expenses, Jia Changjiang, Lumine, and Paimon were finally ready to embark on their journey to Liyue.

The Rite of Descension was fast approaching, and if they stayed on schedule, they would arrive just in time to witness it.

On the morning of their departure, a surprising number of people gathered to see them off.

The scene grew lively as familiar faces came to bid farewell to the duo who had helped Mondstadt in so many ways—resolving the dragon crisis and assisting countless citizens during their stay.

Though it had been made clear this wasn’t a permanent goodbye, the Honorary Knights had become an integral part of Mondstadt’s life, and their departure felt bittersweet.

“Master Jean! I’ll miss you so much!”

Lumine threw her arms around Jean, clutching her tightly. “I promise I’ll come back to visit as soon as I can!”

After a heartfelt goodbye with Jean, Lumine darted off toward Lisa, ready to repeat the process.

Although their planned departure was in the early morning, Lumine’s endless string of goodbyes had already delayed them by over twenty minutes.

She flitted from person to person—from Sara at Good Hunter to Blanche at the general goods store, from Marjorie at With Wind Comes Glory to Margaret at the Cat’s Tail tavern.

Not even Paimon could stop her whirlwind of farewells.

By the time Lumine returned to Mondstadt’s main gates, she was out of breath but smiling.

Jia Changjiang, on the other hand, had spent far less time saying goodbye.

To him, Mondstadt was the beginning of the journey, not the end. There would be plenty of opportunities to return, as long as they remembered each other.

Still, Jia Changjiang took the time to bid farewell to a few people—Jean, Kaeya, Lisa, and even Diluc. He had also stopped by Dawn Winery to leave something behind and strike a small deal with Diluc.

At Mondstadt’s gates, a crowd had gathered to see them off.

Jean, Klee, Amber, Noelle, Venti, Razor, and even a few other members of the Knights of Favonius stood together in farewell.

“There’s no need to see us off all the way here,” Jia Changjiang said, smiling. “It’s not like we won’t be back someday.”

“Your contributions to Mondstadt will never be forgotten,” Jean said earnestly. “I’ve already informed the Tianquan of the Liyue Qixing about your arrival. While it may not be much, I hope it provides some assistance to you both.”

She hesitated, then added, “Lumine, I’m sorry we couldn’t find any leads on your brother during your time here. I hope your journey in Liyue brings you closer to him.”

“It’s okay,” Lumine said with a soft smile, waving a hand dismissively. “I didn’t expect to find Aether so quickly. Besides, the Knights have already done so much for me, and Amber has been tirelessly putting up those missing posters. I’m really grateful!”

“Lumine, Paimon, don’t forget about me even if you go somewhere far away!” Amber said with a determined smile.

“We’d never forget you! Or those honey-glazed carrots you treated us to!” Paimon said, crossing her arms with mock seriousness.

After the farewells, Jia Changjiang reached behind him and unhooked his massive battle axe, motioning for Noelle to step forward.

“Noelle, here.”

Noelle blinked, pointing to herself. “Me? You mean… this is for me?”

“That’s right.”

Jia Changjiang handed her the giant axe, which was both enormous and incredibly heavy. Noelle, however, took it with ease, holding it firmly in her hands.

“This weapon will remove the limits of your current equipment,” Jia Changjiang said, ruffling her hair with a grin. “Noelle, if becoming a knight is truly your dream, then keep getting stronger. I’m looking forward to seeing the amazing knight you’ll become!”

Noelle’s cheeks flushed as she hugged the axe tightly. “Y-Yes! I’ll do my best!”

Jia Changjiang then turned to Razor.

“You too, Razor.”

“Understood.” Razor nodded, gripping the greatsword Jia Changjiang had given him earlier. “I will… protect my Lupical.”

Finally, Jia Changjiang turned his attention to Venti.

“Venti, next time I’m back in Mondstadt, we’ll drink together. And if I find any good wine in Liyue, I’ll bring it back for you.”

Venti gave a carefree smile. “Safe travels… though perhaps it’s Liyue that needs the warning, not you.”

Then, leaning closer, Venti whispered into Jia Changjiang’s ear, “Dvalin wanted me to tell you: thank you for everything you’ve done. Oh, and…”

A playful breeze tickled Jia Changjiang’s ear as Venti added with a grin, “Don’t forget to bring back some Liyue wine for me. My Mora supply isn’t exactly… abundant.”

Jia Changjiang chuckled and whispered back, “I left one last barrel of the party’s wine at Diluc’s tavern. You can enjoy it anytime you want.”

“Oh?”

“And,” Jia Changjiang continued, “I also worked out a deal with Diluc for some extra wine money. It’s already on Angel’s Share’s tab. All yours.”

“Really?” Venti’s eyes sparkled with excitement.

“Of course.”

Standing straight, Jia Changjiang added, “Next time I’m back, let’s drink to our hearts’ content!”

As the goodbyes drew to an end, Jia Changjiang and Lumine boarded the carriage bound for Liyue.

The group waved as they departed, the vibrant city of Mondstadt receding into the distance.

“May the winds guide you,” Venti murmured softly, his voice carrying on the breeze.
