The Weapon Master Shall Never Die Bare-Handed in Genshin Impact [151]

“Not happening. I’m too responsible to kick the bucket before leaving something behind,” Jia Changjiang replied nonchalantly.
Lumine tilted her head, her golden eyes scrutinizing him. “You’re so weird, Jia Changjiang. A normal person would be captivated by a beautiful woman, but you? You just comment on how strong she is. With that attitude, girls are never going to like you!”
Jia Changjiang burst out laughing and reached over to ruffle Lumine’s hair. “It doesn’t matter whether they like me or not. Relationships between people aren’t solely about ‘liking’ someone.”
As he spoke, Paimon suddenly interjected.
“Mr. Jax, Lumine, look! Is that the Rite of Descension starting over there?”
Hovering beside Lumine, Paimon pointed toward Yujing Terrace in the distance. “I think Ningguang’s about to summon the Geo Archon!”
“Really? Let me see!” Lumine leaned against the railing, excitement lighting up her face as she gazed toward the ceremony.
“Be careful, don’t fall over,” Jia Changjiang warned, grabbing her arm just in case.
Lumine shook her head with an air of defiance. “How could I fall? I’m not a child!”
“Jax, look, look!”
Despite her earlier claim of maturity, Lumine immediately pointed toward the bustling crowd below, her voice brimming with enthusiasm. “There are so many people! It’s so lively over there!”
“Are all these people from Liyue here for the Rite of Descension?”
Leaning against the railing, Lumine gazed at the throngs of attendees, with Paimon perched on her head. Together, they watched the steady stream of people making their way to the incense burners to offer prayers and wishes.
“I heard that making a wish today is supposed to be very effective!” Paimon said earnestly. “Traveler, Mr. Jax, do you have any wishes you’d like granted?”
“If it were me, I’d wish for tons of delicious food to share with you guys!” Paimon declared, her hands on her hips, looking completely serious.
“Wishes are that effective, huh? Then I’ll wish to become rich!” Lumine clenched her fist, her expression determined. “With money, I can get so much done! I could even hire someone to find Aether for me!”
Lumine’s logic was straightforward. “If that doesn’t work, I’ll post a huge bounty for Aether. Then loads of people would help me search for him!”
“But don’t you think lots of people in Liyue would make wishes to become rich?” Paimon mused. “Even if the Geo Archon is generous, he’s not going to just rain Mora down on wish-makers…”
The two continued chatting about their ideal wishes before simultaneously turning to Jia Changjiang.
“What about you, Jax/Mr. Jax? What would you wish for?”
“Me?”
Under their expectant gazes, Jia Changjiang paused to think before responding casually, “Then I’d wish for world peace.”
Lumine and Paimon: “…”
Amid their playful banter, time passed quickly.
Soon, it was noon—the auspicious hour for summoning the Geo Archon.
“It’s starting! It’s starting!” Lumine exclaimed, tugging at Jia Changjiang’s sleeve excitedly.
All eyes were on Ningguang as she approached the incense burner, which was laden with offerings, and began the ceremony.
“The hour has come.”
Raising her arm, Ningguang channeled Geo energy, forming crystalline gemstones that revolved around the incense burner at her command.
The power of Geo activated the burner, emitting a brilliant golden light. Finally, a beam of pure Geo energy shot skyward, piercing the heavens.
“Whoa!”
Lumine and Paimon watched in awe, Lumine marveling, “Does the Geo Archon get blasted by that beam every year just to show up?”
“This is part of the ceremony! Stop calling it ‘getting blasted’…” Paimon muttered, rolling her eyes.
Above them, the skies churned as swirling clouds gathered, and a faint dragon’s silhouette became visible amidst the roiling mist.
Jia Changjiang stared at the shadowy figure curiously.
If he remembered correctly, the Geo Archon had faked his death. So what was he up to right now?
Preparing to dramatically fall out of the sky for his grand entrance?
As Jia Changjiang entertained his wild thoughts, the clouds suddenly darkened ominously.
The unexpected change unsettled the crowd, who began murmuring anxiously, unsure of what was unfolding above.
Moments later, something plummeted from the clouds.
With a resounding crash, a massive dragon landed atop the offerings and incense burner, sending debris flying and eliciting panicked cries from the crowd.
“What the—?!”
Lumine stared at the fallen dragon in stunned confusion.
She had just joked about the Geo Archon being blasted down from the sky…
And now, moments later, it had actually happened.
“Wait, is my mouth really that prophetic?!” Lumine muttered, touching her lips as if they held some mysterious power.
Meanwhile, Ningguang’s composed demeanor faltered briefly before she quickly regained her composure and issued an order.
“The Archon has been attacked! Seal the area!”
At her command, the Millelith surged onto Yujing Terrace, encircling the area.
“What’s happening?!” Paimon shrieked, trembling like a vibrating gadget. “The Archon attacked? Did the Geo Archon just… die?!”
“Could this be my fault?” Lumine whispered, feeling a pang of guilt as she glanced at the approaching Millelith interrogating everyone nearby.
“Lumine, those soldiers are investigating suspicious individuals. Since we’re unfamiliar faces, won’t they think we’re suspects too?” Paimon asked nervously, tugging at Lumine’s hair.
“Jax, I…”
Lumine turned to Jia Changjiang, her voice resolute. “My past enemies were gods. Even if it’s a slim chance, I can’t afford to be captured here.”
She gripped his arm tightly. “Let’s break out of here!”
“If we run now, we’ll look even more suspicious,” Jia Changjiang pointed out. “You sure about this?”
Lumine hesitated briefly, but her distrust of the gods won out. She nodded firmly.
“Understood.” Jia Changjiang grinned.
“Your call.”
Scooping up Lumine, he grabbed Paimon with his free hand and slung her onto his shoulder. “Let’s get out of here first!”
“With the aftermath… well…”
Unfurling his Wind Glider, Jia Changjiang leapt from Yujing Terrace, carrying Lumine and Paimon with him.
“We’ll figure it out later!”
“For now, let’s make some noise!! Hahaha!!”

I have a feeling. Jax will die. Lumine will grieve.
