The Weapon Master Shall Never Die Bare-Handed in Genshin Impact [182]

“Coconut milk?!”

Lumine’s face was filled with shock.

Jia Changjiang looked equally puzzled.

Although his memory was a bit fuzzy, he could have sworn Genshin Impact had something called a Coconut Goat, right?

“My apologies to the three of you,” Zhongli spoke up, his tone calm as always. “It seems I made a hasty promise without due consideration.”

“It’s fine. Who could’ve guessed that Qiqi was actually talking about coconut milk…” Paimon sighed.

“Huh?” Qiqi tilted her head slightly, confused by their reaction. “Did Qiqi say something wrong?”

“No! Qiqi, you’re not wrong! If you think coconut milk is from a Coconut Goat, then it is! And if we can’t find a Coconut Goat, I’ll get someone to breed one for you!” Lumine scooped up Qiqi, rubbing her cheek affectionately against hers. “You’re so adorable that whatever you say is always right!”

“Stop acting like you’re spoiling a child!” Paimon exclaimed, exasperated, before turning to Jia Changjiang. “Mr. Jax, could you please handle the part where we break the truth to her?”

“Why me…? Oh, fine.”

Jia Changjiang gently pried Lumine away, crouched down, and patted Qiqi’s head. “Qiqi, coconut milk comes from coconut trees, not Coconut Goats.”

“Ah…?”

The sudden revelation shattered Qiqi’s small worldview, plunging her into deep thought.

“Coconut milk… comes from coconut trees… not Coconut Goats?”

“Ha ha ha…”

A soft chuckle interrupted the moment as a young man with long green hair, glasses, and a white snake coiled around his neck walked into Bubu Pharmacy.

“What a meaningful life lesson. Thank you for taking such good care of Qiqi.”

“Oh, pardon my manners. I am Baizhu, the proprietor of this pharmacy.”

The others turned their attention to Baizhu.

“Baizhu… So the owner of Bubu Pharmacy isn’t Qiqi?” Paimon exclaimed, her eyes wide with surprise. “And why do you have herbs hanging around your neck?”

Jia Changjiang scrutinized Baizhu as well.

He seemed quite young, and around his waist was a… Dendro Vision.

It was Jia Changjiang’s first time seeing someone with a Dendro Vision since arriving in Teyvat.

“There’s someone even more gullible than Qiqi who went hunting for a Coconut Goat…” the white snake hissed, its voice sharp.

“The snake talks?!”

Paimon jumped, startled, while Lumine reassured her, “It’s fine, Paimon. You’re an emergency food source and you can talk, so you’re even rarer than that snake.”

“Paimon is NOT emergency food!”

The white snake snorted coldly. “If I didn’t speak up, people would think I’m just some dried-out snake specimen in a drawer. And what’s the big deal about a little spirit that can talk?”

“Paimon is not a little spirit either!”

“Haha…” Baizhu chuckled and gently stroked the snake to calm it down. “This is Changsheng. She means no harm. But setting aside all the fun you’ve been having with Qiqi, may I ask what business brought you here today?”

“We’re here to buy the Everlasting Incense,” Jia Changjiang replied. “But playing along with Qiqi wasn’t a bad thing—she’s adorable.”

“You’re quite patient with children,” Baizhu said with a polite smile. “As for the Everlasting Incense… I do have it, of course. Three million Mora, top quality.”

“Three million?! Why not just rob the Golden House?!” Lumine’s hair bristled in fury. “What makes Everlasting Incense worth so much?!”

“Hmph! And now that the Golden House is being requisitioned by the Qixing, robbing it would probably be harder than usual!” Paimon huffed indignantly.

Zhongli crossed his arms, resting a thoughtful hand on his chin. “Hmm… Three million Mora doesn’t sound unreasonable at first, but practically speaking, it could pose a challenge.”

As Lumine continued to fume, a large hand settled gently atop her head, smoothing her ruffled hair.

“Lumine, don’t panic. Leave the negotiations to me this time,” Jia Changjiang said reassuringly.

“You? But I’m better at haggling…” Lumine looked at him skeptically, her curiosity piqued.

“Haggling isn’t the best approach here…” Jia Changjiang stepped forward. “Mr. Baizhu, could we speak in private to discuss the price?”

“After all, as the Liyue saying goes, ‘Walls have ears.’”

Baizhu’s eyes narrowed slightly, but he nodded and led Jia Changjiang to a quieter corner for a private conversation.

“This is pointless,” Paimon grumbled, crossing her arms. “Even if Mr. Jax manages to negotiate, we don’t have that much Mora. And Zhongli definitely doesn’t.”

Zhongli nodded immediately. “Indeed.”

“Zhongli, why are you so confident in your lack of money…” Lumine muttered, exasperated.

Meanwhile, Jia Changjiang and Baizhu had reached an agreement. Both men wore satisfied smiles as they returned to the group.

“Mr. Jia, you’re quite the interesting fellow,” Baizhu remarked, his tone friendly.

“And you, Mr. Baizhu, are refreshingly straightforward. A pleasure doing business with you,” Jia Changjiang replied with equal warmth.

As Jia Changjiang rejoined the group, Lumine couldn’t contain her curiosity. “So? How much did you negotiate the price down to?”

Jia Changjiang raised two fingers and grinned. “A difference of two million Mora from the original price!”

“You got it down to one million?!” Lumine gasped. “How is that possible?!”

“Who said it’s one million?” Jia Changjiang shook his head and held up five fingers instead. “I negotiated it up to five million.”

“Wait, you’re in cahoots with that scammer?!” Lumine stared at him, stunned.

“But Mr. Baizhu agreed to settle for four million Mora,” Jia Changjiang added with a calm smile.

“Four million? That’s still more than before! How is this better?!” Lumine’s frustration boiled over.

Jia Changjiang’s next words, however, made her freeze.

“Think carefully, Lumine—who’s actually paying in the end?”

“We obviously can’t afford it, so…” Lumine blinked, realization dawning on her. “Oh, right! It’s Childe’s tab!”

“If that’s the case,” Lumine said, her demeanor shifting instantly, “why stop at five million? You could’ve pushed it even higher!”

Her sudden change in attitude earned a rare chuckle from Zhongli.

“Selling the Everlasting Incense for three million is fair value,” Zhongli mused. “But convincing a merchant to raise the price to five million is quite the skill. It’s no small feat.”

“One mustn’t be too greedy, after all.”

With Zhongli’s gentle reminder, Lumine puffed out her cheeks in mock protest and gave up on pushing the matter further. Instead, she began plotting how to track down Childe.

Before leaving, however, Lumine turned to Jia Changjiang with a grin. “Next time you come across a money-making scheme like this, make sure to call me!”
