The Weapon Master Shall Never Die Bare-Handed in Genshin Impact [265]

While Lumine and Childe were busy navigating a maze of traps and mechanisms, completely focused on their path, Jax had already breached the stone door with ease. He found Teucer and was now leisurely leading him through the ruins.

With Jax guiding him, Teucer stopped running around recklessly and followed obediently, marveling at the sights. Along the way, they saw partially disassembled Ruin Guards, humming machinery, and even Electro Slimes powering parts of the ancient system.

Compared to Childe and Lumine’s harrowing progress, Jax and Teucer’s journey was more like a peaceful tour through a toy factory.

After dismantling another simple mechanism, Jax and Teucer arrived at the final chamber of the ruins. They waited there, observing the surroundings, while the other two struggled their way through the labyrinthine traps.

It wasn’t long before a slightly disheveled Childe and Lumine finally emerged from the trap-laden passage. As they stepped into the chamber, they were greeted by Teucer’s excited smile and Jax’s easygoing grin.

“Brother! You were amazing just now!” Teucer exclaimed as he ran toward Childe. “That was so cool—like a real adventure!”

Meanwhile, Jax casually waved the white iron pickaxe in front of Lumine with an apologetic smile.

“…”

Seeing Jax’s nonchalant expression, something in Lumine snapped. The last thread of her patience had been severed by her own Festering Desire blade.

With a sudden burst of energy, Lumine launched herself at Jax, sparking an impromptu scuffle.

Teucer, still oblivious to the situation, was about to turn back and ask what was going on when Paimon quickly covered his eyes.

“Teucer… um…” Paimon stammered. “Why don’t you tell your brother more about the One-Eyed Little Treasures you saw just now? The Traveler… is having a little chat with Mr. Jax.”

“Hmm?” Teucer tilted his head, confused. “But it doesn’t sound like chatting…”

“Uh… well, that’s just how Lumine likes to chat!” Paimon said, forcing a nervous laugh.

“Teucer, did you have fun at the research institute?” Childe asked, tactfully helping Paimon steer the conversation away.

“Yes! It was so fun! I saw so many One-Eyed Little Treasures and even their factory!” Teucer said enthusiastically.

But then his eyes lit up as he noticed something else. “Brother, look! The big door over there opened! It’s such a huge room!”

“Is that the One-Eyed Little Treasure’s guest hall?” Teucer asked excitedly.

The sound of the massive mechanism echoed throughout the chamber, drawing the attention of everyone—including Lumine and Jax, who had paused their “chat.”

Lumine was currently perched on Jax’s shoulders, her legs locked around his neck while her hands twisted his arm in a submission hold. Both turned to look at the newly opened room.

Through the open doorway, several Ruin Guards began activating, their ancient forms creaking to life.

“One, two, three… There’s so many of them!” Paimon shrieked, the halo above her head spinning frantically. “What are we supposed to do with this many Ruin Guards?!”

Lumine released Jax and readied her Festering Desire. “Looks like we’ll have to fight them off.”

Childe, however, sighed and knelt beside Teucer. “Teucer, how about we play hide-and-seek right now?”

“Hide-and-seek? Now?” Teucer asked, puzzled.

Childe nodded, his voice soothing. “Your brother wants to prepare a special surprise for you. But you have to close your eyes and count to sixty first, alright?”

“A surprise?!” Teucer’s face lit up.

“Exactly. But no peeking, okay? Just count to sixty—slowly—and don’t turn around no matter what you hear,” Childe instructed.

“Okay!” Teucer agreed, closing his eyes tightly. “Sixty… fifty-nine…”

“You’re seriously going to take out that many Ruin Guards in sixty seconds?” Lumine asked, her voice skeptical but laced with curiosity.

Childe smirked as he drew his Hydro blades. “What choice do I have? Let’s get this done.”

The Ruin Guards weren’t individually a major threat to skilled fighters like Jax or Lumine. However, dealing with them all within a strict time limit was another matter entirely.

Though the group managed to destroy several Ruin Guards in the allotted sixty seconds, the conveyor belt continued delivering new ones into the chamber.

By the time Teucer finished counting, the last of the Ruin Guards had arrived. Jax pulled his spear free from the core of a defeated Ruin Guard and looked curiously at Childe and Teucer.

“All done, Brother?” Teucer asked, spinning around.

Childe chuckled, though there was a hint of weariness in his voice. “Teucer… give me ten more seconds, alright? Your brother isn’t quite ready yet.”

“Brother, you’re cheating!” Teucer pouted. “Fine, just ten seconds!”

As Teucer resumed counting, Childe sighed and turned toward the remaining Ruin Guards. Determination flickered in his eyes as he made his decision.

The gentle glow of Hydro blades suddenly gave way to a storm of furious waves and crackling lightning. Childe’s form was consumed by his Foul Legacy transformation, and his power surged to devastating levels.

In mere moments, the towering Ruin Guards were reduced to crumbling heaps under the onslaught of the Foul Legacy’s relentless force.

Lumine watched in stunned silence. Even during their battle at the Golden House, Childe hadn’t displayed this level of intensity. It’s like he’s fighting as if his life depends on it…

“Five… four… three… two… one! I’m done counting!”

Teucer spun around, only to see the room littered with the broken remains of dozens of Ruin Guards.

“Whoa! So many One-Eyed Little Treasures!” Teucer exclaimed, his face lighting up with excitement. “It’s just like my dreams—it’s a world of One-Eyed Little Treasures!”

“Teucer, did you like the surprise your brother prepared for you?” Jax asked with a grin.

“I love it!” Teucer nodded vigorously. “If only these One-Eyed Little Treasures weren’t so big… I’d take them all home!”

“Well… don’t forget, you’re still playing hide-and-seek,” Lumine reminded him with a sly smile. She gestured toward another corner of the room. “Why don’t you go look over there?”

“Okay!” Teucer dashed off in the direction she pointed, giggling with excitement.
