The Weapon Master Shall Never Die Bare-Handed in Genshin Impact [271]

Lumine and Fischl effortlessly located the meteorite near the waterfall and lake behind Springvale.
Carefully, Lumine prodded the meteorite. When she confirmed it had no adverse effect on her, she boldly began collecting the meteorite fragments.
“This should do the trick, right?” Lumine remarked. “If someone touched this fragment, would they wake up?”
“By the sacred covenant, I swear, these meteorites are the very source of the nightmares!”
As Fischl made her dramatic proclamation, a massive tree trunk suddenly tumbled from the waterfall above, crashing into the lake below and sending up a huge splash.
“Halt! What foul creature dares approach?!” Lumine stepped in front of Fischl protectively, her gaze fixed on the lake.
The next moment, Bennett and the tree trunk floated to the surface.
Beneath the water, large bubbles emerged from a struggling Jax, weighed down by his heavy armor and weaponry.
After much effort, they managed to haul Jax out of the water. While Jax emptied his armor of water, Lumine questioned him.
“Why were you two falling from the waterfall?”
“Don’t even ask.” Jax waved dismissively. “Who would’ve thought such a sturdy tree trunk would suddenly snap and knock us into the water?”
“By the way, have you seen the meteorite? We’re here looking for the one behind the mountain,” Jax added.
In response, Lumine held up a bag containing the fragments. “Here it is. But after I cleaned it up, the elemental energy it radiates doesn’t seem as strong as before…”
“…”
Jax fell silent.
Meanwhile, Lumine tilted her head curiously. “What about you two? Why do you look so beat up? Did you run into trouble?”
“No major problems, just a ton of small ones,” Jax replied, his expression weary. “It’s fine, though. On the way back, we’ll let the knight know that the monsters on the mountain have been completely cleared. The area’s safe now.”
“Uh…” Lumine scrutinized Jax’s face. “You look exhausted… Never mind, let’s hurry back to Springvale.”
---
The return trip was uneventful. However, the soaking from earlier left Jax and Bennett feeling uncomfortable. Bennett, of course, was long accustomed to such misfortunes.
Upon arriving in Springvale, they discovered that several villagers had already woken up.
“Looks like clearing the meteor fragments really does work!” Paimon chirped, floating in the air. “So as long as we can get rid of all the fragments, this whole mess will be solved.”
“You’ve been a great help, Mr. Jax and Miss Lumine,” a Knight of Favonius said gratefully. “We’ll immediately send word to other areas. With this experience, we should be able to resolve this situation quickly.”
“However…”
Jax approached one of the recently awakened individuals, a worker from Dawn Winery who was still disoriented after regaining consciousness.
“Were you dreaming before? What did you see?” Jax asked curiously.
The worker thought for a moment, his face showing a trace of fear. “I dreamt I was climbing a snowy mountain. My body wouldn’t stop, no matter how tired I got. I kept climbing and climbing, but I could never reach the summit. It was exhausting, and I couldn’t stop…”
“The icy curse of the snow mountain demon! Even the waters blessed by the Spring Spirit cannot escape its grip?” Fischl declared solemnly, shaking her head.
“Wow, Fischl! You figured out what’s going on? That’s amazing. I’m still totally lost…” Bennett chimed in. “But clearing the monsters near the mountain was fun.”
“A curse… Whether it’s a curse or not, the important thing is that clearing the meteor fragments wakes people up,” Lumine said thoughtfully. “Now that we know the solution, let’s split up to handle the fragments.”
After a pause, she turned to Jax. “Why don’t you stay in Springvale to help out? We don’t know if the meteorite fragments could affect you…”
She murmured, “Besides, clearing the fragments doesn’t involve any fighting. You staying here makes sense…”
Jax considered this and nodded. “Sure, but Lumine, hand me the fragments you just collected.”
“Are you sure? What if you fall unconscious too?” Lumine asked as she passed him the bag of fragments.
“It’s fine. We already know how to wake people up,” Jax replied. “If we weren’t short on people, I’d actually want to test something…”
“Test what?” Lumine asked, raising an eyebrow.
“If someone could reach the summit of that snowy mountain in the dream, what would happen?” Jax said, his tone intrigued.
“Well, whatever.” Lumine shrugged. “Just be careful, Jax. If you pass out, I’m leaving you behind.”
“Got it. It’s decided, then.”
As the others left Springvale to handle nearby fragments, Jax stayed behind, sitting by the spring and inspecting the meteor fragments Lumine had handed him.
The fragments were unique in composition, glowing faintly blue. Although Lumine had cleaned them, traces of elemental energy still lingered.
Jax was fascinated.
Though he had played some parts of Genshin Impact, he hadn’t delved deeply into later updates. This meteor event rang a bell—it was part of Lumine’s journey, one she could easily resolve even without him.
No real danger, but…
These fragments were said to be pieces of a constellation—a Constellation.
That meant the blue crystals before him were fragments of someone’s destiny, as Mona had described.
The thought intrigued him deeply.
“A Constellation… Now that’s something worth investigating…”
