The Weapon Master Shall Never Die Bare-Handed in Genshin Impact [277]

Venti watched Jia Changjiang silently for a long time.

To Venti, Jax—originally a being from another world—now seemed intricately tied to Teyvat in ways that hadn’t been there before.

“Jax, you’re always full of surprises,” Venti said with a sly smile. “Are you planning to tell Lumine and the others about Leonard?”

“Lumine, the astrologer… Little Amy… and that boy the world despises.”

“Huh?” Jax blinked, confused.

“Little Amy? And who’s this boy the world despises?”

“Oh, Little Amy is none other than the Prinzessin der Verurteilung, Fischl,” Venti teased, mimicking Fischl’s dramatic tone. “‘I am the Prinzessin der Verurteilung, Fischl!’”

“Little Amy… hah.” Jax couldn’t help but laugh. “So Fischl’s real name is Amy? Little Amy?”

“Jax, don’t you dare tease her with that name,” Venti warned. “I only shared it because you seem to care about them so much.”

“Do I look like someone who’d cross that line?” Jax waved dismissively. “Fischl may talk dramatically, but she’s a good kid.”

“But what about this ‘boy the world despises’? What’s that about?”

“Sorry, I can’t say too much about him,” Venti replied, shaking his head.

“Fine,” Jax said, dropping the subject. “As for Leonard’s story, I don’t plan to tell Lumine and the others just yet.”

Venti tilted his head, intrigued. “Why not? You already know the truth, don’t you?”

“Where’s the fun in that?” Jax shrugged. “Besides, even if I told them now, it wouldn’t solve Leonard’s problem.”

“Speaking of which…”

Jax cracked his knuckles, a sharp popping sound cutting through the air. “That Fatui Harbinger—the one who called himself the Wanderer—is deeply involved in all this.”

“If the Millelith hadn’t shown up when they did, I’m pretty sure he would’ve made his move.”

Jax leaned forward. “But there’s one thing I’m still curious about.”

“Oh? What’s that?” Venti asked, leaning back in his chair.

Jax tapped the table with his finger. “Where is Pinnacle Cap?”

“If I could climb that mountain, wouldn’t that resolve Leonard’s lingering obsession?”

“Ah… that,” Venti said, grinning mischievously. “You’ve heard the old tale of Barbatos blowing away the snow and flattening the mountains, right?”

“Pinnacle Cap is now just a small island in the ocean.”

“…So?” Jax prompted.

“So… you can just take a boat there!” Venti stuck out his tongue and playfully tapped his head. “These days, it’s called Musk Reef. Much catchier than the old name, don’t you think?”

Jax stared at him. “You’re really leaning into this slacker image, huh? Always slacking off—barely acting like an Archon at all.”

“Well, I am the spirit of freedom, after all!” Venti replied, puffing out his chest as if that justified everything. “Oh, and by the way, some remnants of Mondstadt’s old terrain also formed islands elsewhere in the sea. But we can talk about those another time.”

“Fair enough. Thanks for the info, Venti,” Jax said, clapping him on the shoulder. “I’ll handle the meteorite situation first. You’d better thank me properly for helping Mondstadt out of this mess!”

“Don’t worry—I’ll compose a song just for you once this is over. No charge!” Venti said with a laugh.

Jax snorted. “Except your songs never seem to earn you enough for wine.”

“That’s rude! Poetry is a treasured cultural tradition! And for the record, my songs do earn me wine money!”

“Mona, we’ll need your divination to pinpoint the remaining meteorites,” Lumine said, leading Mona to a leyline-rich location near Mondstadt.

“Traveler, are we really not bringing Jax along for this?” Paimon asked. “Didn’t he say he was meeting with Venti?”

“Jax is dealing with other meteorites. Once we have Mona’s results, we’ll regroup with him,” Lumine replied confidently. “Our team is perfect as it is!”

She glanced at Mona and Fischl with a proud grin. “Besides, Jax is probably off drinking with Venti right now. Let him be.”

As Lumine spoke, Jax was standing near Mondstadt’s Falcon Coast, deep in thought about Musk Reef.

Leonard’s lifelong dream had been to conquer Pinnacle Cap. Though the mountain had been reduced to an island reef, resolving the Constellation’s obsession likely required visiting the site.

The question was, how to get there?

Jax weighed his options. The Wind Glider couldn’t reach that far over the ocean without wind currents. Buying a boat was out of the question—he didn’t have the funds.

Rent one, maybe?

If all else failed, he mused, I could drag Kaeya out of the Knights and have him freeze a path across the sea. Walking over ice doesn’t sound so bad.

After some thought, Jax decided to gather wood and build a raft.

With Lumine busy handling meteorites elsewhere, this seemed like the perfect opportunity to check out Musk Reef himself.

In the game, you could just use a teleport waypoint to reach Musk Reef and dive into the Spiral Abyss. But in real Teyvat? Who knows what I’ll find there now…

While Jax worked on his raft, Lumine and her group cleared meteorite fragments across Mondstadt and Liyue. Despite their efforts, a handful of people remained trapped in a deep sleep.

Thanks to the combined efforts of the Millelith and the Knights of Favonius, most fragments were dealt with swiftly, despite interference from element-hungry monsters.

Mona, after completing her divination, identified the core fragment’s location and confirmed the name of the Constellation’s owner—Leonard.
