The Weapon Master Shall Never Die Bare-Handed in Genshin Impact [295]

On the fifth consecutive day of Jia Changjiang and Lumine’s alchemy obsession…

The two had thrown themselves into their respective projects with an intensity that caught the attention of all of Mondstadt.

Mornings were spent at the alchemy station crafting potions and embedding jewels. Afternoons were dedicated to studying mysticism and other subjects over tea with Lisa at the library. Evenings brought them back to their crafting, tirelessly honing their creations.

For Jia Changjiang, it was a steady grind. But for Lumine…

The sight of the fabled Honorary Knight meticulously brewing countless potions alongside the ever-serious Jia Changjiang set Mondstadt abuzz with rumors.

Even the Adventurers’ Guild and the Knights of Favonius were concerned, speculating whether a new calamity was on the horizon. The whispers grew so loud that Jean herself became involved—until Lisa clarified the situation.

It turned out Lumine’s potion-making spree was aimed at producing beauty elixirs and skincare concoctions. As for Jia Changjiang’s grim expression? He claimed it was due to his poor luck producing useless jewels, hence his dark mood.

Reassured, Jean swiftly put an end to the rumors.

After several days of relentless effort, Lumine had amassed an impressive stockpile of cosmetic potions to sell, while Jia Changjiang had crafted most of the jewels he needed—along with an assortment of seemingly niche ones.

Some, like the Hungerless Jewel (which reduced hunger) or the Forager Jewel (enhancing plant gathering), were oddly specific. Others, such as Swampstride Jewel (better movement in wetlands), Leap Jewel (extending dodge range), or Heatproof/Coldproof Jewels, were remarkably practical.

Jia Changjiang even experimented with gifting the jewels to others, confirming that they worked just as effectively for them.

Jean received a Sleepless Jewel to replace her reliance on coffee. Klee got a Bombardier Jewel to amplify her explosive skills. Amber, now equipped with a Grenadier Jewel, seemed delighted at the enhancements to her firepower.

Paimon, not one to miss out, demanded a Hungerless Jewel and promptly attached it to Lumine’s back without her noticing.

That morning, Jia Changjiang and Lumine, sporting dark circles under their eyes, dragged themselves to the alchemy station as usual. However, they immediately noticed something unusual.

Timaeus was absent.

In his place was a girl with light green hair, diligently tending the alchemy stall. Upon seeing them, she hesitated before approaching.

“Are you here for Timaeus?” she asked timidly.

“And you are…?” Lumine rubbed her bleary eyes and straightened up, trying to focus.

“I’m Sucrose,” the girl replied shyly. “Timaeus was called away by Master Albedo, so I’m here in his place.”

“Oh, you’re watching the alchemy station today?” Lumine perked up slightly.

“Wait… Lumine?!” Sucrose gasped, eyes widening in recognition. “You’re the Honorary Knight who defeated the Stormterror crisis! I’ve always wanted to study you up close…”

Realizing what she’d just said, Sucrose turned crimson and stammered, “S-sorry! I’m not great with people. I usually stay in the lab, so I don’t talk much…”

“It’s fine!” Lumine reassured her with a grin.

“I’m Jia Changjiang. You can call me Jax if that’s easier,” he added, rubbing his temples.

“And I’m Paimon!” Paimon said proudly. “Lumine’s best companion and guide!”

“And emergency food,” Lumine quipped with a smirk.

“Hey! That part wasn’t necessary!” Paimon shot back, flustered.

“It’s so great to meet you both!” Sucrose exclaimed, her nerves giving way to excitement. “If it’s you, then maybe you can help Master Albedo!”

“Albedo?” Lumine murmured. “Why does that name sound familiar…”

“He’s the Knights’ Chief Alchemist,” Jia Changjiang reminded her. “Lisa mentioned him. But why would someone like him need our help?”

“Wait, Albedo is amazing?” Paimon asked curiously.

Sucrose nodded, enthusiasm creeping into her voice. “Master Albedo is brilliant! He’s not only my teacher but also Timaeus’s. His research into the world’s truths has led to countless breakthroughs.”

She continued, “Alchemists travel from far and wide to seek his advice. No matter how complex the problem, Master Albedo always has the perfect solution.”

Paimon’s eyes widened. “He sounds incredible!”

“But lately, he’s been stuck on a problem and seems troubled,” Sucrose explained, her voice tinged with worry.

Lumine tilted her head. “How could we possibly help someone that smart? Do you want me to fight something for him?”

Sucrose waved her hands quickly. “No, no! Your extraordinary adventures might inspire Master Albedo and give him new ideas for his research.”

“And he’s very generous,” she added. “If you help him, he’ll definitely reward you!”

“Oh?!” Lumine’s eyes lit up. “Could he make Paimon stronger?”

“Hey!” Paimon interjected, flailing indignantly.

“Uh…” Sucrose hesitated, genuinely considering the possibility. “Maybe… Master Albedo can figure something out…”

“Don’t encourage her!” Paimon protested.

“Fine, I’m in,” Lumine said with a yawn. “I’ve had enough potion-making for now—it’s time to stretch my legs. Where is he?”

“Master Albedo should be researching in Dragonspine,” Sucrose said apologetically. “I’d take you there myself, but someone has to watch the alchemy station.”

“You’ll recognize him easily—he’s…”

She paused, thinking hard. The ears peeking out from under her hair twitched slightly.

“He’s a polite and refined young man with a scholarly air. Oh, and, um…”

“… I’m sorry, I don’t know how to describe him better. Please do your best to find him!”
