The Weapon Master Shall Never Die Bare-Handed in Genshin Impact [308]

Sucrose’s resolute tone piqued Paimon’s curiosity. "But you don’t even know the specifics. Why are you so sure?"

"Because Timmaeus and I are both devoted to alchemical research," Sucrose explained. "If it were something else, there’d be no reason for Master Albedo to keep it from us."

She clasped her hands together, her face flushing slightly as she pleaded, "I’m really curious about what he’s hiding. Please, Lumine, Mr. Jax, I’m counting on you!"

"Hmm…" Lumine considered it for a moment. "Helping Sucrose isn’t a bad idea. I’m curious about Albedo’s secret stash too. If we happen to pass by his camp while exploring the snowy mountain, we could investigate."

"Really?! Thank you!" Sucrose exclaimed, her eyes lighting up with excitement.

"But… what could Albedo be hiding?" Jia Changjiang wondered aloud. "We were just at his camp a couple of days ago."

"Who knows? But if it’s something he’s keeping secret, it’s probably pretty valuable!" Lumine speculated, her eyes gleaming. "My instincts tell me that this trip to the snowy mountain is going to yield something… really special!"

After taking on Sucrose’s request, Jia Changjiang and Lumine began preparing for their journey into the snowy mountain.

Although "preparing" wasn’t strictly necessary—both of them had personal storage spaces, and Jia Changjiang had equipped Lumine and Paimon with anti-freeze beads—their adventure promised to be far less grueling than the typical trek.

There’d be no need to huddle by a fire, seek out warm Seelies, or use ancient mechanisms to stave off the cold.

Of course, when handing over the anti-freeze beads, Jia Changjiang conveniently described them as something he had just synthesized. He didn’t mention that during their last trip to the mountain, he’d already equipped himself while leaving Lumine to shiver in the cold.

"These things are pretty handy!" Lumine said, adjusting the bead around her neck. She dove into a pile of snow, marveling at how she could feel the coldness of the snow without actually freezing.

Even Paimon, who had spent most of their previous expedition bundled up in blankets like a fluffy ball, was finally free to hover around in her usual form.

"Of course they’re handy," Jia Changjiang said proudly, puffing out his chest. "These gems aren’t just for staying warm. There are plenty of other useful ones too!"

He grinned and began to boast. "For example, there’s the Quickdraw gem—guarantees a critical hit with your first attack after unsheathing. And then there’s the Sheathing gem, which makes stowing your weapon lightning-fast. Pair them together, and it’s all about rapid unsheathing and resheathing—just chef’s kiss."

Jia Changjiang’s eyes gleamed as he imagined future possibilities. "And hey, when we get to Inazuma, I’ll show their swordsmen what a real Iaijutsu looks like. Ever seen a greatsword version of the Quickdraw technique?"

"What’s that? Sounds amazing!" Lumine popped her head out of the snow, a lump of it perched atop her head. Her eyes sparkled with curiosity. "Are your gems really that impressive? Do you have more tricks up your sleeve? Something I can use?"

"Hmm… Let me think." Jia Changjiang rubbed his chin, his mind racing with potential combinations. "How about Quickdraw archery? Or full-on explosive multi-tasking? Oh, or maybe dodging and dual-blade immunity stacking? I could even try combining firepower buffs with near-death survival perks. The possibilities are endless!"

"Wow, all of that sounds so fun!" Lumine’s eyes lit up like searchlights. "I want to try them all!"

"You’ll have your chance," Jia Changjiang assured her. "We’ve got time, and we haven’t even been to Inazuma yet."

"True!" Lumine said optimistically. "Who knows what other fascinating things you’ll whip out by then?"

"Exactly," Jia Changjiang said with a grin. "Plenty of adventures ahead."

"Yup, yup!" Paimon chimed in, nodding vigorously. "And so many tasty foods from the seven nations to try! We’ll get to eat it all together!"

"Paimon, you’re always thinking about food… But honestly, I’m excited too!" Lumine admitted without shame. "And the beautiful girls from other nations! Traveling is going to be so much fun!"

"Can’t argue with that." Jia Changjiang swiped the snow off Lumine’s head with a firm pat. "All right, let’s head to Albedo’s camp."

Lumine froze, then clutched her head. "Jia Greenleaf! That was payback, wasn’t it?!"

"Nope," Jia Changjiang replied, his tone innocent. "Just helping you get rid of the snow."

"Liar! Since when does brushing snow off someone make such a loud smack?!"

"I’m just strong by nature. You know that."

"Lies! Wait… Where’s Paimon?"

"Mr. Jax! Traveler! Wait for me! The wind’s so strong up here—don’t walk so fast!"

When the trio finally reached Albedo’s camp, they found him deep in his experiments.

Lumine and Paimon exchanged a glance, then stood at the edge of the camp and shouted in unison, "Albedo~~ Come~ out~ and~ play~!"

"Hmm?" Albedo, just finishing his current experiment, turned to see the three of them. "You’re back already? Did you lose your way?"

"We’re here to uncover your top-secret alchemy stash!" Lumine declared boldly, standing with her hands on her hips. "We’ll figure out all your hidden projects and report them to Sucrose! How’s that for a plan?"

"Traveler! You weren’t supposed to say that out loud!" Paimon cried in alarm.

"Oh? Such a confident declaration," Albedo mused, glancing at Jia Changjiang. "So, you must have met Sucrose after leaving the mountain?"

"That’s right." Jia Changjiang chuckled. "We were planning to explore the snowy mountain anyway, but this sounded too interesting to pass up."

"Perfect timing," Albedo said with a nod. "I have something I need your help with as well."
