The Weapon Master Shall Never Die Bare-Handed in Genshin Impact [209]
Added 2025-01-10 05:18:00 +0000 UTCThe massive platform of Falling Stars caught the Millelith soldiers who had been plummeting toward the sea, stabilizing them safely.
But Lumine, after saving the soldiers, was herself falling toward the ocean below.
“Traveler!”
Keqing, standing at the platform’s edge, reached out to grab Lumine’s hand but was a moment too late. Her fingers barely grazed the air as Lumine descended further and further out of reach.
Helplessly, Keqing could only watch as Lumine disappeared below.
Fortunately, in the next instant, Cloud Retainer swooped down, catching Lumine mid-air before gracefully returning her to the Jade Chamber. Keqing let out a sigh of relief as Lumine was safely brought back.
Meanwhile, Jia Changjiang, who was falling alongside the destroyed Guizhong Ballista, found himself saved by a blur of green. Xiao darted through the sky, grabbing Jia Changjiang mid-fall. With a few nimble steps across crumbling debris, Xiao brought them both back to the platform.
“Reeking of alcohol,” Xiao muttered as he steadied Jia Changjiang, wrinkling his nose at the mix of blood and liquor.
“Thanks, Xiao,” Jia Changjiang said, his arms trembling from exhaustion. Though Ganyu’s Adepti energy was healing his wounds, the toll of battle left his limbs weak.
“Thank you both for saving the Millelith,” Ningguang said as Jia Changjiang and Lumine were set down safely. Her gaze was steady but held a flicker of deep gratitude.
Thanks to Jia Changjiang’s earlier warning and Lumine’s selfless act, the soldiers had narrowly escaped what would have otherwise been a catastrophic loss. Despite the destruction of the Guizhong Ballista, nearly all the Millelith had survived.
“Without the ballistae, suppressing the ancient god will be nearly impossible,” Cloud Retainer said, her tone grim as she surveyed the battlefield.
“The Jade Chamber is our final line of defense,” Ganyu added firmly. “If it falls, Liyue will lose its last hope of resistance.”
Ningguang, standing at the platform’s edge, turned her gaze toward Osial, whose serpent heads writhed in the sea below. Her expression hardened, and she glanced down at the Jade Chamber beneath her feet.
It was clear she had made a decision.
“I will abandon the Jade Chamber,” she declared, her voice resolute.
Gasps filled the air.
“What?!” Keqing exclaimed, staring at Ningguang in shock. Ganyu was equally stunned. “Lady Ningguang, do you mean to—?”
“Precisely,” Ningguang said with unwavering determination. “The Jade Chamber will fall, but Liyue will endure.”
Meanwhile, in the Third-Round Knockout, Zhongli’s eyes snapped open.
The quiet teahouse had grown increasingly crowded as curious onlookers gathered to listen to the storyteller, Tian Tiezui. The air buzzed with a mix of tension and fascination, yet Zhongli remained calm, sipping his tea.
He smirked faintly.
The second wager with Jia Changjiang was settled. Ningguang, in her moment of trial, had chosen to forsake her life’s greatest achievement—the Jade Chamber—for the sake of Liyue’s survival.
Zhongli admired her resolve. This, too, was an answer worthy of Liyue’s legacy.
But one bet still remained.
Back on the Jade Chamber, Ningguang’s decision reverberated through those present. Her certainty left no room for argument.
“Are you serious?” Cloud Retainer asked, her tone sharp.
Ningguang nodded solemnly.
Just as she began preparing to steer the Jade Chamber into Osial’s towering form, Jia Changjiang interrupted.
“How about I give you ten minutes?” he said, stepping forward with a wry grin.
His words silenced the platform.
“What do you mean?” Cloud Retainer asked, narrowing her eyes.
“Now isn’t the time for jokes!”
“I’m not joking,” Jia Changjiang replied, shrugging. “I’m asking if ten minutes would be enough for you to come up with another plan.”
Cloud Retainer’s retort was cut short by Xiao, who placed a hand on her arm.
Xiao turned to Jia Changjiang. “What are you planning to do?”
Jia Changjiang smirked. “Finish the bet.”
Reaching into his inventory, Jia Changjiang pulled out a small bundle of golden hairs.
“Also,” he added, pointing to the soldiers behind Ningguang, “I’ll need them. Just for a little while.”
Ningguang hesitated, her brow furrowed in confusion. “Mr. Jia, what exactly do you intend to do?”
“I intend to win,” Jia Changjiang said simply.
With that, he pressed five of the golden hairs against his chest.
The power of the Monkey King surged into his body, filling him with an overwhelming energy. The strain was immediate. Even having used three hairs before, the addition of two more pushed his body to its limits. His muscles burned, his veins throbbed, and his entire being felt on the verge of breaking apart.
“Same as before, huh?” he muttered, his grin turning into a grimace.
Cloud Retainer studied the energy radiating from Jia Changjiang. “This power... is the same as that day on Tianheng Mountain. But it won’t suffice against a ancient god—”
Jia Changjiang cut her off by tossing the remaining hairs to Lumine.
“If I can’t hold out, you’ll take over,” he said to her.
Lumine caught the hairs, hesitating briefly before nodding.
Suddenly, Osial’s roars ceased.
The ancient god’s five serpent heads froze, each turning toward the Jade Chamber. A presence emanating from the platform caught his attention—a presence that felt... threatening.
A shadow began to rise from the Jade Chamber, growing larger and larger.
It was a staff.
An iron staff.
It extended upward at an impossible speed, piercing through the stormy clouds above until it seemed to hold up the heavens themselves.
In the teahouse, Tian Tiezui’s voice rang out, his narration perfectly synchronized with the unfolding scene:
“Engraved with celestial markings and cloaked in divine energy, this was no ordinary weapon. Its name was the Ruyi Jingu Bang—mighty in form, boundless in power!”
The towering iron staff tilted downward, its tip aimed directly at Osial.
Jia Changjiang stood at its base, gripping it with both hands.
“Let’s see how you like this, you overgrown water snake,” he growled.
With a mighty roar, he swung the Ruyi Jingu Bang downward.
“EAT THIS!!!!”
