The Weapon Master Shall Never Die Bare-Handed in Genshin Impact [412]

“Embrace the divine grace!!”

“Embrace your ass!”

Every time the Abyss Herald opened his mouth, Jia Changjiang fired back with a curse.

Their clash shook the ground—each impact more ferocious than the last.

The Herald’s strength shocked Jia. This wasn’t some run-of-the-mill Abyss Mage hiding behind elemental shields. This was something else. Something far more dangerous.

But in the end…

With everyone’s combined efforts, the Abyss Heralds were finally driven off.

And that gave Jia Changjiang and Lumine a chance to ask what they really came here for.

“Your Majesty, do you remember the first plow machine ever built in this world?”

“I have no interest in the creations of mankind,” the King of the North Wind growled. “I don’t even know what a ‘plow machine’ is supposed to be.”

“But… there is a machine I remember well.”

Some memories needed resolving. And in the process, the wolf king's recollections demanded a proper explanation.

“It wandered into the trial grounds by mistake. I treated it as a test subject. All that earned me was the Abyss Order’s retaliation.”

The North Wind King’s voice rumbled with faint disdain. “It had no intelligence. Only the drive to fight. A device forged solely for slaughter.”

“After it was damaged… it left these lands.”

The wolf’s gaze turned to the distant horizon. “If I had to guess, it would be in that direction.”

“It could spin, leap high, and fire flaming spheres. It didn’t rival a true god… but it was far stronger than most Vision-wielders.”

His brow furrowed.

“Hmm?”

Lumine raised an eyebrow. “Why does that sound weirdly familiar?”

She scratched her chin, trying to piece it together. Eventually, she shrugged it off. Must be imagining things.

“The Tyrant’s Resentment?”

Jia Changjiang’s memory sparked, connecting the dots. The legend of the Tyrant’s Resentment—it lined up perfectly with the powers of a Ruin Guard.

A spinning, fireball-launching, leaping machine…

“Let’s go back and talk to Dain,” Jia suggested, nodding to Lumine.

As the two prepared to leave, the King of the North Wind suddenly spoke.

“Human lupical.”

He looked straight at Lumine.

“Thank you for what you did just now.”

“No big deal,” Lumine beamed, giving his massive nose a playful pat. “We’re friends, after all.”

“Traveler…” Paimon watched her companion with wide eyes.

That unshakable confidence—Paimon still wasn’t quite used to it.

Soon enough, the group returned to meet Dainsleif.

“Dain, situation resolved!” Lumine grinned the moment she spotted him, proudly giving a thumbs-up. “Another case closed—by me! Perfectly, might I add!”

“Right? I’m amazing! Oh, and—”

She quickly shared all the clues they'd uncovered. “This is everything we found. Not much more to go on, but it's something.”

“Then… I believe I can piece together the full picture regarding the whereabouts of the first plow machine,” Dain nodded thoughtfully.

“The ‘Tyrant’s Resentment’… was actually a missile launched during the machine’s active phase.”

He continued, “So if we want to find the original plow machine, we’ll need to comb through the ruins of Stormterror’s Lair.”

“Ruin Guards… but different?” Lumine frowned.

She did remember something strange.

Back when she’d just resolved the Dvalin crisis, she had explored the ruins. There, she’d come across a ruin machine unlike any other.

At the time, she’d half-expected it to leap up and attack her.

But instead… it had just sat there. Silent. Like it had no power left.

She’d even climbed on top of it to take a picture.

Wait. That one?

Her expression turned serious. “In that case… I’ll lead the way.”

...

Minutes later, atop a high platform in Stormterror’s Lair, the group stood before a silent Ruin Guard.

“That’s the one!” Lumine pointed at the dormant machine. “Back then I used Elemental Sight—no reaction at all, so I thought it was broken. Who would've guessed the Abyss Order was looking for this thing.”

“Talk about stumbling across gold,” Jia said with a dry laugh. “So? What now, Dain?”

“You probably know how to handle this, right?”

“Of course.” Dain stepped forward, eyes fixed on the silent guardian. “The plow machine never relied on elemental energy.”

“Leave this to me.”

Deep blue power surged from his palm as he reached toward the machine. Slowly, its shell opened.

And there it was—the glowing Eye of the World’s First Plow Machine, gleaming in the dim light.

“This is what the Abyss Heralds were after,” Dain murmured. “The original Eye. Every other Ruin Guard… a mere imitation of this.”

“If they plant this Eye into the corrupted inverted statue, use it as the core, then combine it with the limbs of the Vortex God Osial…”

“The newborn abomination would possess the power to… shake the thrones of Celestia itself.

“We have to stop them!” Lumine clenched her fist.

Dain was about to agree—but he glanced at Jia Changjiang first.

“…Then let me ask. Why are you opposing the Abyss Order?”

“Is it for the sake of the Seven?”

“Of course not!” Lumine said without hesitation. “It’s to protect my friends! No matter where the Abyss tries to bring destruction, I’ll stop them.”

“…Also, if I get paid for it, that’s a bonus,” she added thoughtfully.

“I see…” Dain looked between her and Jia, eyes narrowing slightly.

So that’s the difference between her and him…

“What about the Eye?” Lumine asked at last. “Should I… just stash it in my bag? I’ve got a great hiding spot—”

“No. I’ll hold on to it.” Dain's voice left no room for argument.

“Hidden places can be discovered. I don’t trust the Church. I need to ensure no one—no one—uses this power.”

“And that inverted statue—destroy it. As soon as possible.”

“And finally…” His eyes gleamed cold. “We’re going back.”

“That Abyss Herald… we end this.”
