The Weapon Master Shall Never Die Bare-Handed in Genshin Impact [413]

She eyed the dark entrance warily.
“We barely escaped last time,” she mumbled. “And now we’re going back to take out the Herald? That’s gotta be super dangerous…”
“Yeah, I feel the same,” Lumine admitted. “He ran the moment we got close—popped open a portal and vanished.”
She crossed her arms. “Is the entire Abyss Order this damn slippery?”
Complaining all the way, the group headed back into the heart of the domain.
Dainsleif immediately noticed the chains Jia had shattered on their last visit.
The architecture, the atmosphere—everything reeked of the Abyss Order’s handiwork.
“Strange. Withered. Vile. I understand now what you meant by that oppressive aura,” Dain said with a nod.
The Abyss Herald—after fleeing the confrontation with the wolf—would return here eventually.
Now, all they had to do was wait.
“He’s here.”
Dain’s voice was cold and certain. And a heartbeat later, a mocking laugh echoed behind them.
“Heheheh… always so perceptive.”
The Herald stepped out from a swirling portal.
“You’re still as insufferable as ever… enemy of the Order, Dai—huh?!”
He froze mid-sentence.
The corrupted, inverted statue—the Order’s lynchpin…
Gone.
“You… you stole the statue?!” The Herald exploded with fury. “Dain! You traitor! Still you oppose the Abyss?!”
His voice shook with rage.
But Dain… didn’t answer right away.
Wasn’t even me, he thought. He hadn’t expected anyone to be able to lift the statue—let alone ignore the Abyssal pressure radiating from it. And yet… Jia had just hauled it away like it was nothing.
“The stench of rot! The reek of blood!” the Herald howled. “Looks like you all—die here today!”
Twin blades gleamed on his arms. “You’re dangerous, just like us. But everything outside the Order’s grasp… belongs in a cage!”
“Tch…”
Dain clicked his tongue, visibly annoyed.
He wasn’t interested in arguing. Statue or no, he’d have come to destroy it regardless.
But still—
“Your tongue’s rotted from disuse,” Dain sneered. “Time to cut it out.”
Tension snapped taut.
Lumine’s sword shimmered into existence, black armor catching the dim light as she gathered elemental energy.
Paimon clenched her fists behind Lumine’s back.
And Jia Changjiang?
He stepped forward—carrying the statue on his back—grinning like a devil.
“The inverted statue?!” The Herald gaped. “You were the one who took it?!”
“Funny, isn’t it?” Jia said, smug. “The thief crying ‘thief.’ But don’t worry—this ain’t your statue.”
“This one’s mine. Yours was a lady statue. This one? Male.”
He lifted a thumb… then flipped it down.
“Your girly statue saw my statue and ran for her life, obviously.”
“Enough of your nonsense!” the Herald roared, veins bulging with fury. “Oppose the Order, and you’re just a bug crushed beneath its wheels!”
“Then c’mon. Crush me.” Jia smiled, all teeth. “Funny thing about bugs—some of us ride the wheels and sting the hell out of the driver.”
“Enough talk!” Lumine dashed in, blade raised. “Let’s finish this freak!”
Her sword sliced through the air—the Herald dodged, countered—but just as he lifted his blades toward Lumine—
Shadow overhead.
Jia slammed the inverted statue down, forcing the Herald to leap back.
Lumine grinned. Jia and her—their signature move.
Forget honor. Righteousness is two-on-one.
Lumine vaulted off the statue; Jia’s arms flexed, veins bulging, and he hurled her skyward.
Mid-air, she spun—aiming for the Herald.
Jia stashed the statue in a flash, launched himself with a shattering stomp, spear in hand, aimed dead center at the Herald’s chest.
The Herald moved to evade—but three stone pillars erupted around him, sealing his path.
That spear, forged of black dragon bone, could pierce ancient dragons.
He felt it—this blow could kill him.
Desperate, the Herald jumped—
But in the air, Lumine was already waiting. Blade aimed right for his heart.
The trap closed.
Flames sparked as sword met blade, as spear grazed skin. The Herald twisted, barely slipping through the smallest gap.
He landed atop one of Lumine’s pillars, fleeing between them.
Lumine dropped from above; Jia caught her mid-fall.
The Herald didn’t hesitate. He opened a portal.
He’d underestimated them. Their teamwork, their strength—it was far beyond what he expected.
If he stayed another second, he’d die here.
But just as he stepped toward the portal—
Dain moved.
