The Weapon Master Shall Never Die Bare-Handed in Genshin Impact [414]

Brilliant blue markings lit up across Dainsleif’s body. Energy surged in his hand, wrapping around the Abyss Herald’s throat like an invisible claw—and with one brutal yank, he dragged the struggling Herald back out of the portal.

“Nice one!”

Jia Changjiang shouted, taking a bold step forward without hesitation. He hurled his massive black dragon spear straight toward the Herald’s heart.

If that blow landed, there was no doubt—the Herald would die here.

But then—

A golden figure streaked into the fray, sword flashing.

A terrifying shockwave exploded across the chamber. Dain was forced to leap back several times to avoid the blast.

Jia’s spear, deflected by the sudden impact and haze, was knocked off course by a sword and embedded itself deep in the wall nearby.

And the one who’d stopped it all—

Stood at the center of the room.

Every single person froze, eyes wide.

The one who had appeared had golden hair, just like Lumine.

Distinctive clothes. Amber-gold eyes, glinting with something ancient.

“Your Highness…”

The Abyss Herald bowed low—deep and reverent.

And the figure standing tall—

Was none other than Lumine’s twin brother.

Aether.

“Y-y-y-y-y-you—” Paimon stammered, shaking with shock at the figure before them. “Is that… Is that…?!”

“Aether?!” Lumine gasped. Her voice trembled with disbelief, joy, and overwhelming emotion. A heartbeat later, she took a step forward—pure instinct driving her. She sheathed her sword.

Her brother. Her blood. Finally found.

“Aether! I finally found you!”

She wanted to rush forward, close the distance, but Paimon yanked hard at her sleeve, holding her back.

“Wait, Lumine! He—he just protected the Abyss Herald! Your brother might be with the Abyss—!”

“Lumine,” Aether interrupted, calm and composed, “why are you traveling with Dainsleif?”

Lumine’s joy faltered. Her expression cracked.

“That’s your first question? After all this time…?” she whispered, her voice tight with suppressed emotion. “That’s what you want to ask me?”

Paimon blinked. “Traveler… your brother knows Dain?!”

Dain nodded slowly, eyes locked on the golden-haired boy. “Aether. So we meet again.”

Jia Changjiang stood to the side, feeling oddly out of place.

Aether knew Dainsleif.

Aether and Lumine were siblings.

Paimon was bound to Lumine.

…So was he the only one not included in this grand reunion?

Should I introduce myself? But I don’t even know this guy…

Aether, however, ignored Dain. His gaze remained fixed on Lumine.

“Lumine… You shouldn’t be traveling with him.”

His voice was gentle. But there was weight behind it.

“That man is my enemy.”

“…Aether?”

Lumine stared. He looked the same—gentle, kind, just like she remembered. But there was something unfamiliar now. Something distant in his eyes.

“Don’t say things like that… Aether.” Her voice trembled. “I don’t want to hear that from you.”

“But I must say it, Lumine.” Aether’s expression remained calm, resolute. “Don’t fight against me. Don’t oppose the Abyss.”

“Dainsleif… was once the Twilight Sword, the last royal guard of Khaenri’ah. Five hundred years ago, he failed to stop its destruction.”

“He bears the curse of immortality, wandering the wilds—forced to watch the people he once vowed to protect become monsters of the Abyss.”

“What…?!” Paimon gasped. “The Abyss Order isn’t just connected to Khaenri’ah… they are its remnants?!”

“Aether!!”

Lumine stomped her foot hard, her frustration boiling over.

“Do you even know how long I’ve been looking for you?! I’ve been chasing after you this whole time… and now that we finally meet, you’re talking like a stranger, saying all this confusing crap!”

Her voice broke at the edges. Her nose stung, the kind of hurt that ached deep in the sinuses—right before tears fell.

And then they came.

Paimon panicked. “Traveler! Don’t cry again—” She hurriedly flailed her sleeves, dabbing at Lumine’s cheeks to catch the tears.

“I’m fine!”

Lumine scrubbed at her face fiercely, eyes red. She drew her sword again and pointed it straight at Aether.

“Even if I have to fight you—I’m taking you home!”

Her voice wobbled, sniffling mid-threat, making the words far less intimidating than she hoped.

But still—Aether’s gaze flickered. Just for a second.

“Of course,” he said quietly, “anywhere with you is home, Lumine.”

“…But I can’t go with you. Not yet.”

“Not until the Abyss has drowned the thrones of the gods. I still have a war to finish—with Celestia.”

“So you’re not coming back with me.” Lumine wiped her eyes roughly, forcing herself to look at him. “That’s it?”

Aether slowly shook his head.

“I’ve already traveled once before,” he said softly. “You must finish your journey as I did. Only when you reach the end will the truth of this world become part of you.”

“I don’t care about any of that!” Lumine snapped, her voice raw. “You don’t need to teach me, Aether—I’ll figure it out myself!”

“But right now—I’m not letting you leave!”

She took a step forward, palm up. Wind and Geo elements surged toward Aether, aiming to pin him down.

But her power—

Barely stirred dust in his direction.

Aether didn’t even flinch.

He raised his hand.

And with a light gesture, pressed down.

Lumine’s legs buckled. She dropped to one knee, crushed by an invisible force.

His strength—undeniably, immeasurably—surpassed hers.

“Lumine… you haven’t regained your full power,” Aether said gently. “You’re not ready to fight me.”

“But during your journey, you’ll get it back. Slowly. Don’t rush… We have all the time in the world.”

Behind him, the Abyss Herald opened another portal—its destination unknown.

Aether turned to leave.

“We’ll meet again.”

His voice was quiet. Steady.

“No need to rush, Lumine. I’ll wait for you… however long it takes.”

He stepped toward the portal.

“Our time,” he said without turning back, “has always been enough.”

Lumine stood frozen, head bowed, his words still echoing in her ears.

And then—

She cried out.

“Jia Changjiang!!” Her voice cracked, sharp and desperate. “Help me—”

“Got it.”

In the next instant, a flash of cold steel screamed through the air—headed straight for Aether. He raised his sword just in time to parry a blade that had materialized inches from his side.

It wasn’t a fatal strike.

But behind that distraction—

Jia’s black dragon spear slammed into the Abyss Herald’s body, just as the portal began to pulse. The force shattered the Herald’s concentration and broke the teleportation.

“Your Highness…”

Jia stepped closer. Just inches separated him and Aether now.

“Nice to meet you.”

He narrowed his eyes.

“Running off and leaving the crying princess behind?” His voice dripped with challenge. “Doesn’t sound very princely to me.”
