The Weapon Master Shall Never Die Bare-Handed in Genshin Impact [418]

"Mm! Mm! Mm!"

Lumine nodded vigorously, then grabbed Jia Changjiang and pulled him along toward the entrance of the Serenitea Pot.

But… the moment he stepped inside, Jia Changjiang felt something strange happening in his body — something deep within him was stirring, almost as if it were waking up, ready to move.

Meanwhile, Paimon and Lumine gasped in awe as they looked around the immense interior of the teapot, immediately spotting a bare, empty house and dashing toward it in excitement.

They even encountered a giant talking bird...

But Jia Changjiang's focus remained locked on himself, trying to pinpoint the source of this odd sensation.

Before long—

He found it.

It was the Broken Crafting Table — that long-unused, damaged workstation he carried.

Now... it was faintly glowing.

Suddenly, Jia Changjiang remembered something.

Back then, Albedo had said that perhaps because of the fundamental laws of Teyvat, the crafting table had been incomplete — only able to create a limited set of tools.

But now...

Inside this realm created by the teapot, separate from Teyvat’s natural world—

Jia Changjiang's eyes lit up with excitement.

Without hesitation, he pulled out the crafting table, retrieved some materials, and immediately began experimenting to see if he could use the workstation properly here.

Meanwhile, Lumine had met a helper inside the pot — a creature called Tubby.

Both sides began exploring the teapot realm in earnest.

After a good amount of research—

Jia Changjiang finally confirmed it:

Inside this place, the crafting table from Minecraft seemed, for now at least, to have regained its full functionality. Anything made here could actually be used freely.

But—

Now, with the crafting table repaired, new ideas flooded Jia Changjiang’s mind.

If I can prepare materials here... why not just create a stockpile and store it inside this realm?

And so—

Jia Changjiang and Lumine found themselves with a new home.

Though, admittedly, it still took a bit of running around outside the pot to actually reach the spot where they would properly settle in.

Soon after—

Lumine received a special commission from the Adventurers' Guild.

A job for Old Dai.

Old Dai… was the foreman of Liyue’s miners.

And this job was connected to the Chasm.

"Sorry to trouble you," Old Dai said to Lumine. "The other helpers I called in should be arriving soon too. Mind waiting just a bit?"

"Eh? You clearly don’t understand how amazing we are!" Paimon puffed up proudly, floating forward. "They’re incredible adventurers, you know!"

"No offense intended," Old Dai said with a wry smile, "but this job’s deep in the mines. Strange things have been happening, and mining areas are dangerous enough even without that. So I figured I'd bring in some real experts."

He looked at Jia Changjiang and Lumine. "The Adventurers' Guild doesn’t specialize in ore appraisal or geological surveys, after all. Having a professional around makes a huge difference."

"That... actually makes a lot of sense," Jia Changjiang nodded.

"And besides," Old Dai continued, "the expert I found — he's the best there is. Any rock, any mineral, he can tell you everything about it with just one look."

Old Dai spoke with visible pride. "If you ask me, he’s the most knowledgeable person about stones in the whole world. When you meet someone that skilled, of course you’ve gotta bring him in!"

"The world’s greatest stone expert?" Paimon huffed, crossing her arms. "Impossible! The person who knows the most about stones is our friend!"

Hands on her hips, Paimon declared, "He understands stones better than anyone else!"

"Oh?" Old Dai grew curious. "And what kind of person would this world's greatest stone expert be?"

Jia Changjiang thought seriously for a moment...

The one who understands stones the best... would probably be a rock that's stood firm in Liyue for thousands of years?

"So," Paimon said, eyes shining, "let’s go find Zhongli at the teahouse!"

If in Mondstadt you find Barbatos in a tavern, then in Liyue you find Morax loitering near a tea house...

As they hurried toward the teahouse, Lumine couldn't help grumbling, "Why is it that none of the gods we’ve met so far seem even remotely reliable?"

By the time she finished speaking, they had already reached Third-Round Knockout. Sure enough, Iron Tongue Tian was there telling stories, and beneath the stage—

Zhongli sat quietly, listening.

Right now, Tian was recounting the ancient tale of the rampaging rock dragon — a creature said to have been carved into being by Morax himself, strike by strike.

"Zhongli!" Lumine called out.

"Oh?" Zhongli raised an eyebrow. "I didn’t expect to see you here. Is something the matter?"

"We came to ask for your help!" Lumine said brightly. "We picked up a commission, and we need someone who really knows geology and minerals!"

"Yeah!" Paimon chimed in. "The client’s so proud, claiming he found the best stone expert in the world! We wanna show him that you're actually the best there is!"

"Oh?" Zhongli chuckled softly. "And where did this sudden competitive spirit come from?"

"Of course it’s because... we refuse to lose!" Jia Changjiang said firmly, eyes shining. "You're our friend — of course we believe you’re the best."

He continued, "It’s selfish, sure. But it’s how we feel."

"Mhm!" Lumine added, arms crossed confidently. "If we have to name the greatest stone expert in the world — there’s no one we'd pick except you, Zhongli."

Their words caught Zhongli off guard for a moment. Then, he laughed quietly.

After millennia as the Geo Archon, as the God of Contracts, fairness and impartiality had long been his way of life.

Favoritism?

And directed at him?

It was... a strangely novel feeling.

"I must say upfront," Zhongli said with a gentle smile, "though I have some knowledge, I may not truly be the greatest in the world."

"We know, we know," Lumine said breezily. "You only know a tiny little bit, right?"

"The pursuit of knowledge has no end. Broadening one’s horizons is always worthwhile," Zhongli said, looking between Jia Changjiang and Lumine. "But with me here, you can rest easy."

Zhongli’s smile deepened.
"I will not disappoint your expectations."

"Then—let's go!"

"Time to head back to Old Dai!"
