Pokémon: My Titles Know No Limits! [281]
Added 2025-05-03 06:36:31 +0000 UTCScott. The man behind the Hoenn Battle Frontier.
August knew him.
But what was this guy doing here looking for him?
Scott noticed the look on August’s face and couldn’t shake the feeling that August recognized him.
A little confused, Scott still went ahead with his introduction. “Let me introduce myself — I’m Scott, the developer of the Hoenn Battle Frontier!”
“Developer? Battle Frontier?” Blue echoed, puzzled.
To her, both terms were completely new.
Gary, on the other hand, reacted instantly the moment he heard those words.
He sprang out of his seat and pointed at Scott, yelling indignantly, “So it was you! The guy who slapped ten full seconds of VIP-only ads at the start of every episode of Eevee's Great Adventure!?”
Scott froze on the spot.
He had imagined a range of reactions after revealing his identity to August and the others — confusion, surprise, curiosity… but this? This wasn’t one he’d accounted for.
Then again… those unskippable ad spots were pretty annoying.
“Ahem, l-let’s not talk about the ads right now… What was I going to say again?”
Scott gave his head a light smack, trying to recall his train of thought.
Gary’s interruption had completely derailed him.
Pulling out his phone and glancing at the notes app he’d pinned to his chest, Scott finally remembered. “First of all, I want to sincerely thank you, Mr. August, for saving Hoenn…”
“My Battle Frontier is being built on a small island, and the tsunami Kyogre triggered was absolutely devastating.”
“It was really dangerous — just a little more and half the facilities I’d already built would’ve been wiped out!”
His expression turned genuinely grateful as he spoke.
“It was nothing, really…” August replied. “But I assume you didn’t come all this way just to thank me, did you, Mr. Scott?”
The disaster had just passed. As the head of the Battle Frontier, Scott should’ve been on-site assessing the damage, not off running around. The timing made it clear — this visit wasn’t purely out of gratitude.
Scott chuckled at that. “You truly live up to your reputation as an International Police officer, Mr. August. You're right. Aside from thanking you, there’s another reason I came… I’d like to formally invite you to be one of the first special guests at the Battle Frontier!”
“Just ‘August’ is fine…” August said, feeling a little uncomfortable being called ‘Mr.’ so many times.
Scott took the hint right away. “In that case — August, would you be interested?”
As he spoke, he handed over a formal invitation.
The Battle Frontier was a relatively new concept that had emerged in recent years.
Separate from the current gym badge challenge system and tournament circuit, it offered a different kind of trial — one designed to fill the downtime before and after the major League events and help Trainers sharpen their skills.
August understood what Scott was trying to do.
Riding the hype wave, huh?
To launch the Battle Frontier, they needed some big names to draw in crowds and Trainers alike. And he, being the hero who had just saved Hoenn, had both the strength and reputation to make an ideal headline guest. It made perfect sense Scott had come knocking.
That said…
“You’re picking the wrong guy if you’re looking for star power,” August said with a grin.
“Eh?” Scott blinked.
“I’m not exactly famous…”
He pointed at Gary beside him and patted him on the shoulder. “Now this guy — Champion Gary — his fame totally dwarfs mine!”
Gary instinctively puffed out his chest at the compliment… only to realize a beat later — Wait a second. Knowing how petty August is, that probably wasn’t a good thing, was it?
He quickly shook his head. “August’s the better pick. Trust me.”
Now Scott was just getting confused.
He whipped out his phone and pulled up some quick searches on both August and Gary.
There were only a handful of articles on August — and most of them were tied to Rocket-related incidents.
But Gary...
“Indigo League Champion!” “Outstanding Trainer from Kanto!” “Hero of Hoenn!”
Title after glowing title scrolled down the screen. It was almost dizzying.
One of the newest interviews sealed the deal — the guy’s influence was undeniable.
August hadn’t been lying!
So Scott promptly pulled out another invitation — this one addressed to Gary.
And not just him. Blue, Sabrina, and even Zinnia each got one too.
Zinnia: “Even me? What do you mean even me?”
Interns have rights too, you know!
Scott explained that when the Battle Frontier officially opened, anyone who participated would receive generous prizes. And if they came out on top… there was a super grand prize in store.
“Super grand prize?”
Gary’s casual demeanor vanished as his eyes lit up.
He immediately declared that if his schedule allowed, he’d definitely be there.
August: …
Even after Scott said his goodbyes and left, Gary was still daydreaming about what the grand prize might be.
Given how much money Scott must’ve sunk into building the Frontier, the reward was bound to be something amazing.
August casually tossed his invitation over to Gengar.
The place wasn’t even finished yet — according to Scott, it would take another two months to open. That was plenty of time for August to earn another promotion, so there was no rush.
Still…
He looked up at Gary, who was now grinning like a fool, and thought — This guy clearly needs a good battle to bring him back down to earth.
He reached for Milotic’s Poké Ball, a faint smile playing on his lips — the kind that said teacher mode activated.
While August and Gary were sparring in their practice match…

Kanto Region
At a Team Rocket base, a massive airship descended from the sky.
The gusts from its giant propellers sent ripples through the rows of neatly aligned Rocket members on the ground, their uniforms flapping in the wind.
And yet none of them flinched or moved an inch — these were the elite backbone of Team Rocket.
The airship’s hatch opened.
One by one, Rocket operatives disembarked — until at last, Giovanni stepped out, with Athena close behind him.
“Welcome back, Boss!” came a respectful bow from Sird, the lead operative waiting below.
To any observer, Sird would appear to be the very model of a loyal, unshakable subordinate.
But...
Giovanni, armed with intel from August and already in possession of partial evidence, narrowed his eyes — the look in them flickering with both regret… and cold determination.
Bang!
A flash of white light — a Beedrill had somehow appeared behind Sird without anyone noticing, its stinger hovering inches from the back of her neck.
The sudden turn of events left the Rocket members stunned.
What the hell?
Did Sird-sama just get attacked?
Wait… it was Boss Giovanni who gave the order!?
The entire squad stared, slack-jawed, at the surreal scene playing out in front of them.
“G-Giovanni-sama?” someone finally dared to speak.
Giovanni said nothing, eyes locked on Sird. It was Athena who stepped forward and announced, “After thorough investigation, we’ve confirmed that Sird is a spy sent by Team Galactic. Effective immediately, she is stripped of her position as senior officer!”
