The Weapon Master Shall Never Die Bare-Handed in Genshin Impact [332]

"Huixin..."

Ganyu stared at Huixin for a long moment, her gaze softening. "I... never realized that my existence meant so much to all of you."

Ganyu had spent a thousand years in Liyue Harbor.

Three millennia ago, she had formed a contract with the Geo Archon, aiding him in the Archon War. After the war ended, she chose to remain in Liyue, helping its people build a more prosperous city.

A millennium was an incredibly long time. Yet for Ganyu, those thousand years felt like the blink of an eye.

She had never thought her presence could hold such significance to others.

She had always considered herself a solitary being—something neither wholly human nor adeptus, lingering in a liminal loneliness within Liyue Harbor.

But it seemed that beyond her contract with the Geo Archon, she had unwittingly formed new bonds with this city and its people.

"It looks like there's no need for us to say anything more, huh?" Jia Changjiang rubbed his chin thoughtfully, glancing at Ganyu. "So... are you still planning to leave Liyue and return to Jueyun Karst?"

Ganyu considered his question before shaking her head. "No, I don’t think so."

"After spending so many years here in Liyue Harbor... I've grown accustomed to life here," Ganyu admitted. "Perhaps, in some ways, I’m more human than adeptus."

"Does that mean you're in better spirits now?" Lumine perked up, her tone brimming with enthusiasm. "So we'll still get to see you around Liyue Harbor, right?"

"Just don’t overwork yourself, Ganyu. If you ever have the time, I’ll take you out to have some fun!" Lumine offered cheerfully. "A little relaxation is super important, you know..."

"Exactly! And don’t forget about the food—it’s important, too!" Paimon chimed in, her cheeks puffed as she stuffed her face with the feast before her.

"Jueyun Karst isn’t off the table, though. You could treat it as a vacation spot and visit when you need a break," Jia Changjiang suggested with a smile. "Its tranquil scenery makes it the perfect place to unwind."

"I’ll consider it," Ganyu replied, her voice lighter now, the weight in her heart easing.

With her burden lifted, Ganyu found herself more at ease, and the group enjoyed a relaxed and joyful meal together.

After the meal, they bid farewell to Huixin and prepared to return to Yuehai Pavilion to relieve the trio from their workload. But...

Jia Changjiang couldn’t shake the nagging feeling that he, Lumine, and Ganyu had forgotten something. Something to do with Jueyun Karst, perhaps? Ganyu had mentioned something earlier, but now it seemed out of reach in his mind.

Unable to pinpoint it, he decided to set it aside for now.

Meanwhile, Xiao stood atop Wangshu Inn, contemplating what kind of trial to prepare for Ganyu tomorrow...

When the group arrived at Yuehai Pavilion, the trio—Baishui, Baixiao, and Baixue—were nowhere to be found.

"Huh? Where are they?!" Lumine called out as she searched for them. "Don’t tell me... we were too late, and they’re already gone?!"

"What a terrifying thought!" Paimon exclaimed, shivering at Lumine’s grim speculation.

Thankfully, after asking around, they managed to track down the trio’s location. When they arrived outside the room where the trio was working, the sound of frantic activity reached their ears.

As they pushed open the door, the scene inside could only be described as pure chaos.

The trio was hard at work, each sporting a towel draped over their heads. In one hand, they clutched cups of Liyue tea; in the other, imported coffee. Their hands moved nonstop, each action mechanical and precise.

Dark circles loomed under their eyes—three pairs of black pits that made them look as though they were seconds away from keeling over.

It was a vision of workplace hell that stirred unpleasant memories for Jia Changjiang.

"Hey! I brought Ganyu back!" Lumine cupped her hands around her mouth, her voice cutting through the frantic scene.

"Eh?!"

The trio practically launched themselves from their desks, racing to the door like rockets.

"Ganyu! Oh, we’ve missed you so much..."

"It’s like seeing an adeptus descend from the heavens..."

"If you hadn’t come back, we really might’ve worked ourselves to death..."

Their voices wavered with exhaustion and relief, their emotions overflowing at the sight of Ganyu.

"It looks like you’ve been managing my workload quite well," Ganyu said as she inspected the mountain of completed tasks. She nodded approvingly. "You’re more than capable of handling things in my absence."

"Please don’t joke about that, Ganyu!" Baishui groaned. "We’ve been giving it everything we’ve got just to keep up with your pace. Now we’ve completely lost the will to compete with you..."

"At this point, all we want is to escape from this relentless workload," Baixiao added with a sigh.

"Ahem. This seems like a form of dependence, wouldn’t you say, Ganyu?" Lumine teased lightly.

"Miss Lumine, please don’t joke about that," Ganyu replied before turning to the trio. "Since you’ve done so much already, please organize the completed tasks by type, deadline, and priority. As for the remaining work..."

She paused, her tone reassuring. "Leave it to me."

Her words were like a balm to their weary souls. The trio was so moved they looked as though they might burst into tears.

"Understood! We’ll take care of it right away!"

With renewed energy, the trio set to work, while Ganyu turned to Jia Changjiang and Lumine.

"Thank you both for all your help today."

"No problem. Think of it as helping out a friend," Jia Changjiang said with a grin.

"Just make sure to take care of yourself, Ganyu," Lumine said with a smile. "And when you’ve got some free time, let’s go out and have some fun, okay?"

"Of course," Ganyu replied warmly. "Once my work is finished, I’d love nothing more than to travel with the two of you for a while."

"It’s a promise, then!"

With Ganyu’s help, Jia Changjiang and Lumine quickly obtained the necessary permits and licenses to sell goods in Liyue. From now on, they could officially run their business in the city.

"Just you wait, Jax! With our products, we’re definitely gonna make a fortune!" Lumine said confidently. "Then we can use all that Mora to buy new equipment and explore even more places!"

"In some ways, you’re the perfect adventurer," Jia Changjiang remarked. "I don’t mind, though... Speaking of which, Mondstadt’s wine is really popular across the seven nations. If all else fails, we could talk to Diluc about selling it. Maybe we could even import it ourselves..."

"Good idea! Anyway, now that the paperwork’s done, let’s head back to Mondstadt to grab our stuff. And while we’re there, let’s stop by Katheryne’s to see if there are any new commissions!"
