The Weapon Master Shall Never Die Bare-Handed in Genshin Impact [343]
Added 2025-02-13 07:49:18 +0000 UTCAs Jia Changjiang spoke, he began pulling out various custom tools from his system inventory—items crafted specifically in Liyue.
Liyue, the land of Geo, was renowned for its expertise in mining and metallurgy. The tools and mechanisms forged there boasted impeccable quality and utility, a testament to the nation’s craftsmanship.
“What are all these things?”
Lumine stared curiously at the array of large contraptions Jia Changjiang had laid out.
“Let me explain.”
Jia Changjiang, careful not to disturb the Ancient Geovishap slumbering below, began installing the devices while explaining their functions.
“This here is a ballista,” he said, mounting a heavy device into the natural hunting ground formed by the ruins. “It fires armor-piercing iron bolts when triggered. Of course, against something as massive as the Ancient Geovishap, it’ll only be good for minor harassment.”
“And this,” he continued, securing a set of large, barbed mechanisms, “is a claw launcher. Once it fires, the barbed claws will latch onto whatever they hit and retract, binding the target in place. Perfect for immobilizing the dragon.”
He tossed several bundles to Lumine, who caught them with a puzzled look.
“What are these? For me?”
“Explosives,” Jia Changjiang said matter-of-factly. “Mining-grade bombs from Liyue, incredibly powerful. Use them carefully. Once the fight begins, stuff as many of these into its joints as you can—or better yet, shove them into its mouth.”
He grinned before pulling out more contraptions.
“This one… and this one…”
Jia Changjiang continued explaining the use of each device, including personal claw launchers, elemental projectiles crafted from various materials, and even a massive cannon—designed for Liyue’s naval fleet—that he installed with great precision.
For an ordinary person, carrying so many tools would be impossible, but both Jia Changjiang and Lumine had the advantage of inventory space. They could store items until needed, ensuring nothing would weigh them down during battle.
As Jia Changjiang set the final trap, Lumine and Paimon began to grasp the extent of his preparation. From mobility-restricting devices to high-damage weapons, he’d thought of everything.
Seeing the enormous cannon aimed squarely at the unsuspecting Ancient Geovishap below, Lumine couldn’t help but feel a thrill of excitement.
The thought of using all these contraptions to take down a giant beast sent a shiver of anticipation through her.
“Hey, Jax” she asked, curious and energized. “Where do you even get all these gadgets? It’s my first time hunting like this—it’s so much fun!”
“If only we’d had this kind of setup when fighting Dvalin… it would’ve saved us so much trouble.”
Jia Changjiang chuckled. “I shared a few ideas with the Adventurers’ Guild, and they designed and refined these based on my concepts.”
He patted the massive cannon beside him. “I had this one modified specifically for this hunt. It’s fully loaded—Paimon, here’s the ignition trigger.” He handed it over before turning to Lumine.
“Everything’s in place. Are you ready? Familiarized with the tools?”
Lumine gave a confident nod. “Yeah, I’ve got it all figured out.”
“Good.” Jia Changjiang gave her a thumbs-up and pointed down at the Ancient Geovishap’s sleeping form.
“Alright… before we start the fight…”
He positioned himself behind one of the cannons and motioned for Lumine and Paimon to take their places near the claw launchers.
“I’ll count us in. Ready?”
“Three…”
“Two…”
“One…”
“Fire!”
At Jia Changjiang’s command, the cannon roared to life, its projectile slamming into the sleeping dragon’s head.
BOOM!
The explosion shook the underground ruins, jolting the Ancient Geovishap awake.
“ROOOOAAARRRR!!!”
The beast let out an ear-splitting roar of fury, its pain and confusion echoing through the chamber. Before it could react, the claw launchers fired from both sides, anchoring into its massive body and pulling it backward.
“It worked!”
Jia Changjiang, grinning, ran to another cannon and fired again. The deafening barrage of artillery continued, shaking the ground and driving the dragon into a frenzy.
The surrounding wildlife, terrified by the noise and vibrations, fled deeper into the ruins to escape the chaos.
“ROOOARRR!!!”
The dragon struggled against the barbed claws holding it in place, but more projectiles and cannon fire rained down on its heavily armored body. Still dazed from the surprise attack, it could only roar and thrash in frustration.
When the barrage finally subsided, the Ancient Geovishap was riddled with wounds, its golden scales cracked and blood seeping from its injuries.
Now fully awake, the enraged dragon turned its glowing eyes upward, spotting its assailants—three figures clad in black armor, one of whom was floating.
With a furious roar, the dragon wrenched itself free of the claws, breaking the restraints with a violent twist of its body.
It glared at Jia Changjiang and began charging energy in its mouth, preparing to unleash a devastating breath attack.
The beam of concentrated Geo energy hurtled toward Jia Changjiang, but he didn’t flinch.
Instead, he dropped the cannon, drew his lance and shield, and charged straight at the dragon.
“Come on! Hahahaha!”
Laughing wildly, Jia Changjiang leapt off the ledge, his shield raised to meet the incoming blast.
