The future of the game
Added 2024-08-15 09:02:33 +0000 UTCIt's been a while since I said I would make this post, but I just didn’t take the time to do it because I was busy with the release and a lot of IRL stuff.
If you usually read my weekly reports, then you know that I started this game when I was still a student and had to go through multiple internships in order to earn my engineering degree. But around late June, I finished my last internship, meaning I'm completely done with my studies.
So what now? Do I just find a job like everyone else and work on the game as a side project, just like I’ve been doing so far?
No, I just can’t do that. I’ve been overstraining myself all this time, working around 60 to 70 hours per week for this game to work and to be able to keep up with my studies/internships. This definitely can’t go on, nor do I want it to.
Does that mean it’s the end for the game? NO, OF COURSE NOT!
However, what it does mean is that I’m going to make the decision to turn the game into my full-time job. This means I won’t be overworking myself anymore, but I can still keep on making the game. It also means that I’ll only be able to live thanks to your support and dedication to the game. So now, more than ever, I’ll be relying on you guys. You're all the reason this game was able to get that far so I've decided to entrust myself to you.
Does that mean the updates will come out quicker now?
No, not necessarily. I mean, they will come out quicker than Chapter 4 Part 2 did because four months is really a lot of time. But they won’t come out quicker than the usual updates. Yes, I will have more time to work on the game, but every update I make also takes more and more time because I’m getting extremely strict with what I produce. What this means is that the updates are going to take longer to make, but you shouldn’t feel it too much because I’ll also be able to work more.
To summarize this long post :
- I'm now working on the game as my full time job
- I'm counting on your support to be able to continue
- Release have been taking longer and longer to come out lately and this should help to bring them back to the usual : 2 months per release.

Good on you for making the best choice for your health and well being and I hope the continued support will be enough for your comfort.
