The petite girl—the Demon Prince—and the youth in pure black armor, the black dragon Qulius, stood under the scrutiny of countless eyes.

And at that very moment, both of them also sensed the abnormality on this vast plaza before them.

To beings who were truly divine, it was obvious: these humans, whose souls shone so brilliantly, hadn’t yet reached the realm of the gods.

“So strange. Their souls glow brighter than any deity’s, and yet their bodies haven’t ascended to divinity? Compared to the soul, the body should be much easier to elevate.”
Demon Prince (possessed by Evil God D), unfazed by the stares of the crowd.

Though the humans before her were powerful—powerful enough to kill her—she was equally confident in her ability to escape unscathed. So, she wasn’t worried.

She floated in the air, arms folded across her chest, her gaze gleaming with curiosity.

“And if I’m not mistaken…”

“These demigods all seem to have walked a similar path.”

“The fruits they’ve borne may differ, but the seeds they sprouted from… they share the same origin.”

Her gaze fell upon two nearby goddesses, and the human demigod standing beside them.

“Hero Julius?” she murmured in mild surprise, as though greeting an old acquaintance. “Why is it you, Julius? Now that’s a pleasant surprise.”

“I didn’t think this hero, whom I long stopped paying attention to, would bring me such joy in return.”

Her gaze swept across the human capital. As she took in the magical and technological marvels embedded within the city, a rare note of admiration escaped her lips.

“A civilization like this... rivals even those star-faring races that broke free from their homeworlds.”

“And all of this... achieved in just ten years? Zhongli the Dragon of Stone really is a god who knows how to build.”

But no one answered her questions.

Before Evil God D—still speaking through the Demon Prince’s lips—could finish her musings, the Twin Gods and the Virgin Deity exchanged a glance and rose into the sky, flying to meet her and Qulius head-on.

“Greetings, divine ones,” came the voice of Lisa, the Doll—the divine persona of the Twin Gods. “Are you here to scout... or to start a war?”

She spoke with no pretense or politeness—just frank, cutting clarity.

“What if we’re scouting? And what if we’re here for war?”
Demon Prince (Evil God D) stood poised, arms crossed, entirely at ease.

Despite standing before three true gods, and surrounded by more than two hundred demigods, she appeared utterly untouched—detached, aloof.

“If it’s just scouting, we won’t try to stop you,” Lisa replied calmly. “We’ve made our preparations, but to existences of your level, it’s as good as leaving our gates wide open.”

“If you’re not here to fight, then we have no reason to start one in our capital.”

“But,” she added, “if you’ve come for war, we won’t back down. Not even a step.”

Simple words—but firm with resolve.

To possess such radiant souls and reach divinity, none of these beings could possibly have a weak will.

The Demon Prince gave a slight nod of acknowledgment. “Then consider this a reconnaissance mission.”

With that, she once again took Qulius by the arm and stepped forward. A black portal opened in their path.

The next instant, they were back in the Demon Prince’s royal bedchamber.

Qulius wore a face full of disbelief. Staring at the Demon Prince, he voiced what was weighing on his heart.

“Over three hundred demigods… That’s completely absurd. The Wall of Sealing only fell ten years ago.”

“But it is the truth,” the Demon Prince replied flatly. Then, her gaze sharpened. “I know what you’re thinking, Qulius. But let me be clear—back there, I wasn’t sure I could kill them all.”

Even you couldn’t?” Qulius was visibly shaken.

“I certainly could,” the Demon Prince said coolly. “Even if it were hundreds of gods and demigods, to me, it’s just the difference between swatting one fly and hundreds.”

“But the one currently using Demon King Ariel’s body—that version of me—can’t.”

“I thought that by enhancing her body with special rituals, turning her into something far beyond an ordinary god, I’d win this game with ease. But now I see I was wrong.”

“I thought that by inputting the cheat code I’d long prepared, taking full control of Ariel’s body, I’d win without contest.”

“But while I stood there surrounded by two hundred demigods, for just a moment… I felt something I hadn’t felt in ages.”

“A trace of danger.”

Eyes narrowing, her scarlet pupils flickered with memory.

“It’s bizarre. Even though I’m only using Demon King Ariel’s divine energy, my consciousness isn’t fake. If Ariel can bring out 100% of this body’s strength, I could probably unleash 1000%.”

“Even if hundreds of true gods surrounded me, I wouldn’t normally feel a thing. And yet… in that moment, I did.”

“They must have some means beyond ordinary divine power. Some special weapon or method that can truly threaten me, even while I inhabit Ariel’s body.”

“I suspect it’s some kind of scientific superweapon—like a dark matter bomb or something similar.”

“So powerful. In just ten years, within the bounds of our contract, they turned the human race into this.”

“I have to admit… in this game, you’re stronger now, Zhongli the Dragon of Stone.”

“So I’ve made my decision…”

Qulius felt a chill run down his spine.

“You have another cheat up your sleeve?” he asked hopefully.

“No,” the Demon Prince said flatly. “I’ve decided—I’m not playing anymore.”

“That way, I can’t lose.”

The moment the words left her mouth, the Demon Prince’s body went limp.

In her scarlet eyes, the shimmer faded—like a tide pulling back—and in a corner of the soul that had been curled up and suppressed, the original Ariel finally stirred and surged forward, reclaiming control of her own body.

“Ha~~~!”

The very first thing she did after regaining herself was reach up and rub her forehead, then scratch the back of her head.

“I… I’m back??”

She still couldn’t quite believe it.

She’d assumed she wouldn’t regain control until this war-game was long over.

But then—

As the initial wave of relief passed, she turned to Qulius beside her and asked, somewhat awkwardly:

“Did Evil God D… just decide not to play anymore?”

Qulius could only shake his head with a blank expression. “I have no idea!!”
