Pokémon: My Titles Know No Limits! [309]
Added 2025-05-11 06:09:13 +0000 UTCOn August’s face, Cyrus saw it all: a third disappointment, a third contempt, a third ridicule… and just a touch of lazy indifference.
Cyrus’s blood pressure hit max level instantly.
“What did you do?”
He immediately pinned the failure of the [Red Chains] on August.
“I’ve been standing right here this whole time. What could I have done?” August shrugged, giving a thumbs-up. “You’re real good at passing the buck.”
Cyrus, still stinging from being duped by August’s disguise earlier, clearly wasn’t buying it.
August smirked. “Of course it didn’t work. You used two defective knockoffs…”
“Why don’t I show you what a real [Red Chain] looks like?”
Under Cyrus’s stunned gaze—and from within the shadows of the Distortion World where Sird watched in secret—August waved his hand. Gengar appeared at his side, cradling a [Red Chain] in its arms.
A second later, the chain in August’s hand sprang forward on its own.
Cyrus had no time to question how August had gotten hold of a [Red Chain].
An eerie pulse of energy surged from the genuine chain, instantly empowering the two fake ones. The dimensional gate—until now a trembling crack in the air—suddenly tore wide open.
Two towering figures stepped forth from the void between dimensions.
Dialga and Palkia.
Dialga: quadrupedal, deep navy blue, plated with silver metal, a cobalt gem gleaming in its chest.
Palkia: pale violet, bipedal, pearl-studded shoulders like shields, radiating the power of space.
As the gods of Time and Space descended upon Spear Pillar together, August could feel the very concepts of space and time distorting underfoot.
Cyrus’s eyes gleamed, and for once, he had no time for August’s taunts. He immediately manipulated the two [Red Chains], trying to seize control of the divine beings before him.
But—
Just as the two counterfeit chains began to move toward Dialga and Palkia, the real [Red Chain] at the center gave a sharp twitch.
Crack!
Like a whip, the genuine [Red Chain] lashed out, snapping the two counterfeits aside.
They landed some distance away, useless.
Cyrus stared in disbelief as his [Red Chains] trembled—desperate to move forward but cowering, as though afraid.
August clucked his tongue.
“Your [Red Chain] is female,” he said with utter solemnity. “The moment it sensed my male one, it lost all will to function. Honestly? Might as well give up. Those two chains of yours weren’t exactly pulling their weight.”
Utter nonsense!
Dialga and Palkia were right in front of him—Cyrus would never give up now!
“Damn it—attack!”
He poured his will into the chains, forcing them to surge forward in defiance of the genuine one’s pressure, aiming to wrap around Dialga and Palkia.
And for a moment, he succeeded.
Under the pressure of his mind, the fake chains managed to slip past the real one and draw near the two gods.
But…
Palkia flicked its arm.
With a slash, the fake chain closest to it shattered into fragments.
Dialga let out a roar, unleashing a beam of indigo energy that engulfed the second chain. The red glow drained from its surface, and the entire thing crumbled into dust, dissolving into the wind.
With both fake chains destroyed, Cyrus dropped to his knees.
He stared at the disintegrating remains, stunned—like he’d watched his ambition vanish with them.
“I told you... cheap knockoffs,” August said, tone full of pitying sarcasm.
But before he could say more, Dialga and Palkia suddenly turned—charging each other.
Time and space collided.
August felt the entire fabric of reality around Spear Pillar start to twist and churn.
“...”
Cyrus, collapsed on the ground, grinned with manic ecstasy.
“Yes... Fight! Burn this wretched world to the ground!”
Wham!
August’s face darkened. “Gardevoir—lock him down.”
Gardevoir silently obeyed, psychically restraining Cyrus.
August looked back to the battling gods.
So you two just decided I don’t exist, huh?
Linking his [Aura] to the [Red Chain], August triggered its true power.
Instantly, Dialga and Palkia froze mid-combat, as though shackled by some invisible law, and were forced to disengage.
They turned, glaring—not at August, but at the [Red Chain] glowing beside him. Their eyes burned with fury, full of indignation at being interrupted.
And now, a dilemma.
Q: You’ve got two rampaging gods in front of you, and only one tool to bind them. Which one do you choose?
August’s answer:
“Like fighting, huh? Then today—fight all you want.”
He called the [Red Chain] back, forming a shimmering ring around himself to ward off spatial-temporal turbulence.
Then, with a calm motion, he threw a Master Ball.
Boom.
Light blazed across the mountaintop.
ROAR—!
A cry ripped through the heavens, scattering the clouds above Mt. Coronet.
From the sky descended a massive figure—gleaming emerald scales, body coiled like a serpent, vast as the horizon.
Cyrus, pinned down by Gardevoir, stared up, dumbstruck.
The godly presence coiling in the sky dwarfed even Dialga and Palkia.
Rayquaza hovered, dominating the firmament, peering down at the Time and Space duo with ancient, wordless judgment.
Beside August, Mewtwo looked up—and, at his signal, shot into the sky to join the fray.

Tunnel to Spear Pillar
Team Galactic had been crushed by the Kanto division—even without backup from the missing Sird.
Yet...
Even with all their Pokémon defeated, Saturn was still running his mouth.
“Lord Cyrus won’t forgive this!”
“None of you, not even that fake Hunter J—none of you can stand against Lord Cyrus!”
“The old world will burn! A new one will rise! You’ll all be buried in the past. There’s no place for you in the future—!”
Thunk!
A berry shot straight into Saturn’s mouth, silencing him. Gold leaned on a billiard cue, satisfied.
He turned to Togetaro, and they high-fived.
“Finally, some peace and quiet…”
Sabrina twitched a finger, levitating Mars into the air. While binding her with psychic ropes, she tilted her head curiously. “Your teammate talks a lot. Why are you so quiet?”
“Nothing worth saying.”
The answer made Sabrina smile faintly. It reminded her of the time she’d been captured and interrogated by August herself.
With a soft chuckle, she dropped the bound Mars beside Saturn.
“I wonder how August is doing…” Gary murmured.
“No worries. Boss August has this,” Gold said, chewing a berry.
He’d seen August beat Pryce with his own eyes. He had total faith.
Silver nodded silently.
Just then, as they were collecting Poké Balls from the downed grunts, Zinnia froze—then snapped her head toward Spear Pillar.
“Rayquaza?!”
Blue blinked. She knew how sensitive Zinnia was to Rayquaza’s presence—practically a walking radar for it.
If Zinnia said Rayquaza had arrived...
Then August’s battle must have entered its climax.
Even with her faith in him, Blue couldn’t help but worry.
Her gaze swept the group, landing on their strongest member.
“Cynthia… could I ask you to head up and check on Spear Pillar?”
Cynthia had also heard the roar. Truth be told, she was already feeling a little guilty for not having helped earlier.
Hearing Blue’s request, Cynthia nodded solemnly, mounted Garchomp, and raced toward the summit.

Spear Pillar… or what was left of it
Pillars? What pillars?
Flattened. Obliterated.
In their place: swirling stormclouds, spiraling energy.
Dialga, Palkia, Rayquaza, Mewtwo—four legendary Pokémon, arrayed across three factions.
August stood behind Rayquaza and Mewtwo. Gardevoir and Salamence guarded the restrained Cyrus. A KO’d Slowpoke lay at his feet, and the Lake Trio—Uxie, Mesprit, Azelf—whirled anxiously around him.
“Uuuu!”
Uxie cried out, voice full of worry.
August sighed. “I’m starting to wonder if you’re really the god of wisdom. Stop the fight? What do you think I’m doing?”
“If I weren’t here, Dialga and Palkia would’ve caved each other’s skulls in already!”
He gestured toward the divine duelists.
From this angle, it was clear—Dialga and Palkia weren’t just staring at Rayquaza and Mewtwo. Their glares toward each other were still venomous.
The battle moments ago proved it.
Just like Groudon and Kyogre, these two had been enemies since time immemorial.
Without Rayquaza to keep them in check, the destruction would only escalate.
Which is exactly what Cyrus had wanted.
Realizing this, the Lake Trio stopped circling August, though worry still filled their eyes.
Seeing their concern, August offered, “If you’re worried about collateral damage… help contain the battlefield. Keep it confined to Spear Pillar.”
The trio perked up, then darted toward the edge of the mountaintop, forming a barrier.
Huh, August thought. They’re actually pretty responsible.
Then he looked at his own mythical.
Mew was lounging on his shoulder, one paw deep in a snack bag, the other cramming chips into its mouth, clearly enjoying the show.
“Hey—could you at least not get crumbs on my coat?”
But before he could scold further—
ROAR!
Dialga’s eyes flashed red. Its diamond core blazed. Its back plates opened with a grinding hiss.
A pulse of time itself surged forward in a concentrated beam!
Rayquaza was already prepared. Its red markings glowed, a golden beam erupting from its maw to meet the blast.
BOOM!
The beams collided in midair.
The sheer shockwave reduced the remaining half-pillars to rubble.
The Lake Trio immediately darted out, forming a triangle, locking the devastation inside a controlled radius—just as Cynthia arrived.
Her brain nearly short-circuited on the spot.
She barely dodged the shockwave from Mewtwo and Palkia’s skirmish.
Only when Mew yanked her into August’s Red Chain barrier did she snap back to awareness.
“What—what’s going on? What is all this? Who are these Pokémon—?!”
In the sky, Mewtwo’s psychic spoon clashed with Palkia’s claws, sparks flying.
Space itself carved scars into Mewtwo’s weapon.
But in the next second, a surge of psychic energy repaired it.
“Oh, this?” August called up. “No big deal. Rayquaza and Mewtwo are on our side. Dialga and Palkia want to brawl—I’m just breaking it up.”
“Breaking it up?” Cynthia repeated, incredulous.
She watched as Rayquaza, seizing an opening, swooped down and smacked Dialga aside with a [Dragon Tail].
She saw no breaking up. Only a bigger, meaner fight.
While Mewtwo, flung back by Palkia, retaliated by hurling an [Aura Sphere] at Dialga—
Which allowed Rayquaza to disengage and lunge for Palkia.
The battle had shifted.
New pairs. New chaos.
[Aura Spheres] rained down on Dialga, rippling across its armored hide.
[Dragon Pulse] surged from Palkia’s claws. It raised an arm to shield itself from the blast.

Distortion World
Sird watched the clash of four legendary Pokémon, heart pounding with dread.
She had once believed Giovanni was the most dangerous man alive.
But now?
If she had to choose between Giovanni and August—
She’d rather face Giovanni and all of Team Rocket alone than deal with August again.
This... This is beyond me.
She looked once more at her fallen boss—Cyrus—now restrained by Gardevoir and Salamence.
It wasn’t betrayal to let him fall.
August was just too damn powerful.
Trying to intervene would be suicide—wait, hadn’t she said that already?
Whatever. I’m not going out there. Not a chance.
She'd only be safe staying here, hidden in the Distortion World.
“Stay strong, Boss Cyrus.”
With that, Sird gave him one last glance.
Then turned to Darkrai, ready to retreat. She had no idea if the god-battle above would spill into her world next.
Better to flee now than find out.
She turned—
And froze.
Just as she looked back, a massive face filled her vision.
Two crimson eyes, larger than her head, stared back unblinking.
Cold sweat drenched her back in an instant.
When... When did this thing get behind me?
