The Weapon Master Shall Never Die Bare-Handed in Genshin Impact [444]

“Alright, I’ll continue looking into this,” Jia Changjiang said with a wave. “Wait for good news from me.”

“Mr. Jax.”

Just as he was about to leave the Grand Master’s office, Jean suddenly called out to him. “Why is it… you’re always so willing to help Mondstadt?”

Jia’s footsteps paused just before the door. He turned to look back at her.

“Let me think…” he said after a moment. “Actually, Jean, that’s not quite the right way to put it.”

He gave a faint smile. “It’s not that I’ve always been helping Mondstadt.”

“I’m just willing to lend a hand… to anything I believe in.”

“Mondstadt, Liyue—it’s the same.”

“People, gods… doesn’t matter to me.”

He stroked his chin. “I think I said it before.”

“Mondstadt has good wine, good wind… and this is the land of my friends. That’s more than enough reason.”

“Hah… if I end up liking Inazuma when I get there, I’ll probably help them too.”

With that, he gave a casual wave. “Anyway, time for me to do what I want to do.”

Meanwhile, Lumine and Eula had already arrived at Good Hunter. They’d decided to take a break, have a good meal, and relax before figuring out what to do about Schubert.

As soon as they stepped into the restaurant, they spotted a familiar figure.

“Amber?” Paimon called out. “You came here to eat too?”

“Huh? Lumine, Paimon… and Eula?” Amber turned and blinked in surprise. “How come you’re all together?”

“Oh, it’s a long story,” Lumine said with a meaningful sigh. “Let’s just say… a lot happened.”

“Anyway, you’re here for a meal too, right? Want to eat with us?” she offered.

“Sure!” Amber nodded cheerfully. “Now that you’re all here, let’s sit together!”

“Gladly,” Eula added with a hint of happiness.

There weren’t many people who treated her warmly, even fewer who truly considered her a friend—but Amber was definitely one of them.

Around the table at Good Hunter sat Lumine, Amber, Eula, and Paimon, each taking a side like points of a compass.

“Would you like to order?” Sara came over with her usual calm demeanor.

What caught Lumine’s curiosity was how Sara didn’t seem the least bit off-put or cold toward Eula. No signs of the typical disdain Mondstadt citizens had toward the Lawrence name.

They placed their orders, mostly meat dishes, which suited the tastes of Lumine, Amber, and Paimon perfectly.

After all, for young, energetic girls—if it doesn’t make you gain weight, then there’s no such thing as too much meat!

Though at the end, Sara also brought over a salad.

“Hm?” Eula glanced at the salad in surprise. “Did we order this?”

“No,” Sara replied. “But I noticed you didn’t get any vegetables, so I brought this over to balance the meal a bit.”

“Oh? We didn’t order it, yet you brought it anyway? I’ll remember this. That’s another grudge,” Eula said, folding her arms.

“Eh?” Paimon blinked, her lips still shiny with oil. “Even that gets a grudge?”

Sara only chuckled. “You’ve known me long enough—of course I’d do something so villainous.”

Her gaze toward Eula, however, was full of warmth.

Lumine could now say with confidence that Sara held no ill will toward Eula, despite her surname.

As Sara left to tend to other tables, Eula muttered, “Tch, I’ll settle that account with her one day.”

“You really do keep score with everyone, don’t you?” Lumine marveled. “You’ve already recorded three grudges against me today alone…”

“Four, actually,” Eula corrected, arms crossed. “Talking about how I keep grudges to my face? That’s not something I’d let slide.”

“I got marked for a lot back in the day too…” Amber chimed in with a nostalgic smile.

“Hah, with the two of you trouble magnets, I doubt all of Mondstadt could produce anyone who’s more grudge-worthy.” Eula let out a laugh. “And you—Paimon, the floating one—you’re on the list too.”

“I am?!” Paimon cried, stunned, only to have Eula lean over and gently wipe the grease from her cheeks with a handkerchief.

“Be a little more mindful when you eat. If you get sick from being messy, I won’t know who to get revenge on.”

Though her words sounded stern, her touch was gentle.

“Are you sure this is revenge?” Paimon tilted her head, confused.

In her experience, only kind people ever helped her clean her face after meals.

“Eula always talks about holding grudges,” Amber explained, “but honestly, it’s just her way of life. She doesn’t really mean it.”

Eula insisted, “I do mean it! I remember everything!”

But… somehow, it wasn’t very convincing.

“So… Eula’s just a genuinely good person,” Paimon said, thoughtful. “But if you want to show kindness, why not just be honest about it?”

Eula let out a long sigh. “Paimon… you’ve probably never been treated like a criminal just for existing, have you?”

“No…”

“Then you wouldn’t understand. When someone branded as ‘bad’ tries to be good, it’s never easy. And me… I was never meant to be a good person, and I don’t want to be one either.”

She paused.

“But enough gloomy talk. Come on—let’s eat.”

With that, she effortlessly shifted the mood back to something light.

Still, as the meal went on, Lumine kept an eye on Eula.

Even if she says all that… I can’t help but feel she really does want to be a good person.

BANG!!

Near Springvale, deep within a run-down camp—

A worn, shabby encampment with little more than tattered tents and makeshift furniture. But among it all sat one surprisingly well-kept chair.

A chair that had just been kicked over.

The one who kicked it?

Schubert Lawrence—the same Schubert who’d been publicly berated by Jia Changjiang not long ago.

Now, he looked like he’d lost every last trace of noble composure.

What remained could only be described as… rage.
