Pokémon: My Titles Know No Limits! [388]
Added 2025-06-13 08:35:24 +0000 UTCThe sudden appearance of a black vortex in the sky drew everyone’s attention.
“What is that…?”
It was the first time Cynthia had seen anything like it; her face was a mix of curiosity and awe.
But Wicke had already grown tense. “It’s the sign of an Ultra Wormhole opening!”
With the president clearly unwell, Wicke took over command, issuing orders across the Aether Foundation intercom:
“Level Two Alert! Emergency teams, assemble in the Protected Zone!”
With orders quickly given, Wicke looked up at the growing Ultra Wormhole in the sky, her brow furrowed in confusion.
“Why would an Ultra Beast show up here?”
“Probably has something to do with the Ultra Space energy on Lusamine...”
Before Wicke could ask further, something emerged from the swirling portal above—a pale, semi-transparent tentacle snaked out from the Ultra Wormhole.
The tentacle was milky white, drifting as if testing the air, probing the world beyond the portal.
Seeing this, Mew blinked with sudden interest. She tossed her Pokéblock to Cosmog, then floated up toward the sky.
No one—August included—had expected Mew to act so boldly.
Hovering next to the tentacle, Mew reached out with a tiny paw and poked it, curious.
Startled by the touch, the tentacle flailed wildly.
But to Mew, it was just a new toy. Mischief lighting up her eyes, she crackled with static and poked at it again, sparks arcing off her paw.
Zzzzt!
The tentacle recoiled with a jolt, yanking itself back into the Ultra Wormhole.
“Mew~!”
Mew turned midair, waving triumphantly at August below.
Look, she’d chased off an interdimensional enemy all by herself!
She didn’t notice, however, that behind her, more tentacles were now emerging from the hole—each one reaching out, this time groping for Mew.
“Mew!”
Blue cried out in alarm.
Lillie hugged Cosmog tighter, eyes wide with worry.
Sabrina’s psychic power flared, and Cynthia prepared to throw her Poké Ball.
But neither moved as quickly as August—or, more precisely, as Gardevoir.
Gardevoir’s eyes flashed blue, and in the blink of an eye, Mew was snatched from the air by a surge of psychic energy, yanked safely away from the clutching tentacles.
“Mew?”
Mew looked around in confusion, completely unaware she’d nearly been dragged into Ultra Space.
August rapped her gently on the head.
This little troublemaker is getting bolder by the day—wants to mess with everything she sees!
Ignoring the now-teary-eyed Mew rubbing her head, August looked up at the Ultra Wormhole.
The tentacles, having missed their prey, thrashed in agitation above the garden.
And then, under everyone’s watchful gaze—
A semi-transparent jellyfish, rimmed in blue and marked with star-shaped patterns, squeezed its way out of the Ultra Space rift.
The moment it appeared, it scanned the area, and when it spotted Mew, it bristled—lunging at her in a burst of anger.
Nihilego’s tentacles lashed out from every angle, aiming to entangle Mew.
Faced with this sudden assault, Mew yelped and darted behind August, peeking out from under his coat.
“Mew~!”
She clung to August’s shirt, looking up with pleading eyes, desperate for protection.
“You’re supposed to be a mythical Pokémon, you know. What’s there to be scared of…?” August muttered.
But talk aside, August immediately gave the order:
“Gardevoir—use [Psychic]!”
A tangible wave of psychic power surged upward, slamming toward Nihilego in the sky.
Sensing the threat, Nihilego retaliated—its own psychic force colliding with Gardevoir’s.
August almost laughed.
How long had it been since any Pokémon dared take on Gardevoir head-to-head in psychic combat?
He actually admired Nihilego’s courage.
And then—
BANG!
Nihilego’s psychic assault shattered instantly under Gardevoir’s onslaught. The next moment, Gardevoir’s attack struck it head-on.
The Ultra Beast spun wildly as it crashed out of the sky, slamming into the ground.
“Mew!”
Mew pumped her tiny fist in the air, cheering for Gardevoir. August thumped her on the head again.
“Is it over?”
Sabrina withdrew her psychic power, eyes on Nihilego’s fallen form.
Lillie clutched Cosmog, watching anxiously.
August reached out with his [Aura], sensing for danger. “Wait—!”
No sooner had he spoken than Nihilego sprang upright, lunging at the nearest target—Cynthia.
Its tentacles lashed out, ready to latch on.
Seeing this, the entire Kanto team wore complicated expressions.
But before Nihilego could get close—
BANG!
Garchomp fired a [Dragon Pulse], sending the Ultra Beast flying.
Garchomp’s face was nothing but contempt.
With that kind of strength, you thought you could lay a finger on my Trainer?
Nihilego crashed into a nearby tree, then slid limply to the ground.
It wasn’t quite finished; its tentacles twitched as it struggled to rise—but the Eevee in August’s arms darted forward for the final blow.
“Vee!”
[Swift]
Struck by the flurry of stars, Nihilego finally lost consciousness and fainted.
Only now did Mew, emboldened, zip out from behind August and circle the fallen Ultra Beast, confirming it was well and truly down. She struck a victorious pose, basking in her triumph.
Cosmog, seeing how much fun Mew was having, wriggled free of Lillie’s grip and shuffled over to Nihilego, curiosity written all over its face.
At that moment, the Aether Foundation’s emergency squad finally arrived, only to freeze at the scene—unsure what to do next. They all looked to Lusamine and Wicke for guidance.
Though Lusamine had been treated by August, she was still feeling the aftereffects of her earlier pain—especially when she saw Nihilego. Her headache seemed to worsen at the sight.
So Wicke continued in her place, “Stand down! The situation’s under control. Return to your posts!”
“Yes, ma’am!”
Once the emergency team dispersed, everyone turned their attention back to Nihilego lying on the grass.
August looked at Wicke.
“How much do you know about it?”
“This one?”
