Undercover in Snezhnaya, My Teyvat Spy Life [1] & Synopsis
Added 2025-06-20 08:58:50 +0000 UTCArtem Vetrovski, who was unexpectedly transported to Mondstadt in Teyvat, thought he’d easily make a name for himself with his knowledge of the game’s plot.
But things didn’t go as planned. He failed to become a Knight of Favonius and was instead sent undercover to Snezhnaya.
So now, it’s through the eyes of a spy that he reveals the true face of Teyvat to everyone.

Genshin Impact: I Sent You Undercover—How Did You End Up a Harbinger?!

Mondstadt.
Dressed in a standard Snezhnayan military uniform, Artem Vetrovski gazed at Cider Lake before him, lost in thought.
They say there’s always a sense of trepidation when returning home, but he didn’t feel even a trace of it.
Eighteen years ago, he’d transmigrated to Teyvat, arriving as a crying infant wrapped in swaddling clothes, and was picked up by a priest from the Church of Favonius.
At first, Artem thought that, armed with his knowledge of the plot, all he had to do was join the Knights of Favonius and he’d be set for life.
He never expected that the priest who found him was a “priest” in name only—in reality, the man was the instructor in charge of Mondstadt’s shadowy underbelly.
Instead of a shot at knighthood, he found himself forced to learn how to be a spy.
The year he turned fifteen, Artem was sent off to Snezhnaya to start at the very bottom—undercover as a rank-and-file Fatui foot soldier.
Because Snezhnaya hadn’t even been released in his previous life, and the timelines didn’t line up, he only had knowledge about the other four nations, and none of it was useful here.
At that point, Artem thought his days would just drift along in a muddle, never making waves.
But to his surprise, just when he was promoted to Precursor Sergeant and awarded a [Delusion], his “golden finger” finally awakened.
And what a cheat it was.
He was immune to the backlash of the [Delusion].
Anyone who knew anything understood—[Delusions] were artificial magic devices, similar to a [Vision], but their side effects were deadly. Push too far, and you’d drop dead on the spot.
With his cheat, Artem could use his [Delusion’s] power recklessly.
This soon let him get a foothold in the Fatui.
Add in the fact that he knew more about the other four nations than anyone else, and he was always able to seize credit just ahead of the competition.
In just three years, he’d risen from a lowly grunt to the Inspector General of the Precursor Corps—earning the nickname “The Twin Stars of the Fatui” alongside the captain of the Abyssal Strike Force.
He even had a shot at becoming a Harbinger, second only to the Tsaritsa herself.
Whenever he thought about those icy, elegant Harbinger ladies, Artem couldn’t help but feel a little tempted to betray Mondstadt for real.
SLAP!
Artem slapped himself across the face.
What the hell am I thinking?
Right now, he was a spy. If his identity was exposed, he’d be lucky to even get a coffin, let alone a proper burial.
For the past few years,
with the help of his golden finger, he’d been playing both sides in Mondstadt and Snezhnaya, living quite comfortably—money, power… even women—
Well, actually, not that.
Artem would have liked that, but among the Fatui’s female soldiers, half were outright unhinged and the rest were cold as ice. He figured, with his scrawny build, he’d probably be the one played to death.
But this easy life came crashing down last week.
The Fifth Harbinger—the “Rooster,” Pulcinella—came knocking with a new mission.
On the surface, he was to serve as a Snezhnayan envoy to Mondstadt. In reality, he was to seize any opportunity to assassinate Mondstadt’s wealthiest man, the Dawn Winery’s Master, Crepus Ragnvindr, and his son, Diluc Ragnvindr.
When he received this mission, Artem’s heart plummeted.
Dawn Winery was the backbone of Mondstadt’s economy. If both the Master and his heir died, the winery would be left leaderless, and disaster would follow.
Mondstadt, which relied so heavily on the winery, would inevitably suffer as well.
Just then, a gruff voice came from behind Artem.
“Sir, there are scouts from the Knights of Favonius up ahead. Do you want us to—”
A soldier wielding an enormous thunder hammer made a throat-slitting gesture.
Behind him stood a standard sixty-man unit.
This was Artem’s core squad for operations in Mondstadt.
He followed the thunder hammer soldier’s gaze.
Sure enough, about three hundred meters ahead in the woods, there were more than a dozen figures sneaking around.
Artem’s eyes were sharp; with a glance, he saw the leader was an elderly man with white hair, clearly one of Mondstadt’s Outriders.
After taking in the situation, he clasped his hands behind his back and gave a cold, crisp order.
“There’s no need for a big confrontation with Mondstadt right now. Just give those spies a little warning.”
“Yes, sir!”
The thunder hammer soldier signaled, and the sixty-man squad quickly formed up and charged toward the recon team.
The reconnaissance squad, out gathering intel, clearly hadn’t expected to be discovered.
Faced with the fierce charge of the Fatui squad, they could only put up a hurried defense.
But outnumbered nearly five to one, they were at a natural disadvantage.
On top of that, the Fatui troops Artem brought were all elites, each equipped with a [Delusion].
It didn’t take long before nearly every member of the recon team was pinned to the ground.
Only the white-haired elder was still barely holding on.
It was strange—
The old man wore the standard knight’s uniform—clearly a senior Knight of Favonius.
But instead of a sword, he wielded a longbow.
His archery was exquisite, and paired with the biting cold of Cryo energy, he alone managed to keep these elite Fatui soldiers at bay.
The standoff dragged on until suddenly, the Fatui troops all stopped attacking at once, watching the old man with mocking smiles.
The elder was bewildered. Given his age and fading strength, defeat was only a matter of time—why had they stopped?
While he was still puzzling it out, a sudden sense of danger exploded behind him.
Every hair on his neck stood on end; a sharp, icy chill bit into his nape, screaming at him that he was about to be ambushed.
At the last second, he dove forward, rolling clumsily to dodge the attack.
A shadow, dark red, slowly materialized in the air before him.
The moment he saw that signature hood and crimson mask, the old man blurted out, “Debt Collector!”
The so-called Debt Collector was a high-ranking Fatui unit—officially, a Pyro Agent—usually tasked with special operations, their combat prowess fearsome.
They could turn invisible, wield Pyro, and moved with terrifying speed—deadly and efficient.
To the Knights of Favonius, they were the last kind of opponent anyone wanted to face.
“Heh, you know your stuff,”
Artem sneered. The [Delusion] on his body flared with light, and he faded back into stealth.
Such a clever trick left the old man spinning, desperately scanning for his silhouette.
But no matter how hard he tried, there was no escaping being toyed with.
It didn’t take long for him to go down.
Artem reappeared, cracking his neck, feeling refreshed.
The old man pinned under his foot wasn’t nearly so pleased.
Dammit…
he cursed someone out bitterly in his mind.
But the target of his anger wasn’t Artem—it was the Inspector General of the Knights of Favonius.
It was that bastard who said there was a Mondstadt spy hidden among the Fatui squad in town today, and told me to see if I could make contact. But he never told me who it was—just said the spy would reach out if the opportunity came up. But looking at these sixty-some people, does anyone look like a spy?!
Especially that grinning Debt Collector with the ceremonial dagger—
No way! Absolutely not! There’s no way it’s him!
