Pokémon: My Titles Know No Limits! [421]
Added 2025-06-23 09:37:25 +0000 UTCThe psychic spoon crashed down on Koraidon’s head with a crisp thwack.
The sound was so sharp that Zinnia instinctively reached up and scratched her own head.
For a moment, she felt the impact as if it were her own.
Struck hard by Mewtwo, Koraidon’s struggles slowed. Taking advantage of that brief window, Deoxys suddenly shot upward, grabbing Koraidon and hauling it into the sky.
Then Deoxys released Koraidon, shifting midair into Attack Forme. Four whip-like tentacles gathered in front of its body, forming a swirling, prismatic energy sphere.
[Psycho Boost]
[Warning: High-energy reaction detected. Immediate evacuation advised!]
No sooner had the synthetic voice finished speaking than Deoxys unleashed the energy sphere.
It hit Koraidon dead-on.
BOOM!
The blast hurled Koraidon across the chamber, slamming it brutally into the wall.
The tough crystalline armor now radiated cracks like a spiderweb.
Unconscious, Koraidon slid limp down the wall. Deoxys, hit by the recoil of its own [Psycho Boost], froze momentarily, tentacles sagging.
But in the next instant, a ring of blue lightning streaked toward Deoxys from behind.
Miraidon—[Charge Beam]
Having earlier been struck by [Shadow Ball], Miraidon had waited for this opening, seizing the chance Koraidon’s defeat had bought it at the cost of its own battle strength.
Miraidon’s ambush was swift and perfectly timed. Having studied Deoxys’ patterns, it aimed straight for Deoxys’ core—the vulnerable node at its back—going for a decisive blow.
Deoxys hadn’t anticipated the sneak attack at all.
[Calculations complete: Miraidon’s hit rate 99%. Battle over—]
The voice cut off—
THUNK!
A psychic spoon, lengthened like a baseball bat, struck the onrushing Miraidon and sent it flying, slamming it into the wall opposite.
The mechanical voice died away.
As Deoxys turned, it saw Miraidon and Koraidon now collapsed, one on either side, almost perfectly symmetrical.
Mewtwo slowly lowered its spoon, standing tall and giving Deoxys a small nod.
Deoxys’ gaze flickered. For the first time, it felt the meaning of camaraderie—something it’d never known outside its own species.
August watched the scene unfold, then turned his eyes on Sada and Turo.
“Your defense system’s really something…” he remarked dryly.
With both Koraidon and Miraidon—defeated, the Paradise Defense System was officially breached.
The emotional AI subroutines in Sada and Turo’s artificial minds yielded again to logic, restoring their usual composure.
“I didn’t think anyone could actually defeat the guardians…” Sada looked at the fallen Koraidon and Miraidon, her expression complicated.
Turo: “If even the Paradise Defense System couldn’t stop you, I suppose I believe what you said earlier…”
If anyone could prevent the Paradox Pokémon from disrupting Paldea’s ecosystem, it had to be August.
The two AI professors exchanged a look. “Allow us to introduce the core of Project Paradise—”
As they spoke, the machine behind them slowly rose, beginning to power up.
“This is the Time Machine we use to summon Paradox Pokémon!”
As their words fell, the machine whirred to life, light flaring—out of that radiance flew a Flutter Mane.
Disoriented in the unfamiliar place, Flutter Mane’s eyes darted, brimming with wariness. It readied an attack, but before it could move, Deoxys seized control.
August arched a brow at the so-called ‘time machine’ in front of him.
As a seasoned time traveler—someone who’d crossed back and forth to Hisui, trainer of Dialga and Celebi—he knew temporal mechanics better than almost anyone.
But this machine…
“Is this really a time machine?” August asked.
The two AI professors froze for a beat, uncertain why he’d question it.
But they replied, “According to the database, the Time Machine was co-developed by Professor Sada and Professor Turo!”
August said nothing.
Given the earlier performance of their battle systems, he doubted their database was reliable for much of anything.
If he wanted answers about Paradox Pokémon, Terapagos, or this so-called ‘Time Machine,’ he wasn’t going to get them here.
August glanced over at Cogita, who was staring silently at her feet.
He was about to speak when—ding!—the elevator chimed from the back of the room.
Everyone turned.
The elevator doors slid open a crack, and Gary Oak squeezed himself out.
Spotting August, Gary waved a battered notebook in the air. “August! Those professors—they’re fake! They’re robots!”
Everyone stared at Gary with a mixture of disbelief and confusion.
Seeing their reactions, Gary grew flustered. “I’m serious! It’s all here in this diary! You’ve all been tricked, it’s a trap!”
“Uh…”
August was about to answer when Gary whipped out a Poké Ball. “If you don’t believe me, let me handle them!”
He sent out Suicune, ready for battle.
“Actually—” August cut in, gesturing at the battered Koraidon and Miraidon slumped in the corner. “Has it occurred to you that I already knew, and it’s all been handled?”
Gary froze. He followed August’s pointing finger to the wall, seeing the evidence of battle.
Suddenly, he went silent, a wave of awkwardness spreading through the room.
Gary’s face reddened. He opened his mouth, but nothing came out.
Beside him, Suicune quietly scooted a few steps away.
At that moment, the time machine in the center of the room powered up again—this time with no one operating it.
Before anyone could react, the two professors issued warnings first.
[Time Machine malfunction detected. Combat mode enabled… All Pokémon incapacitated. Combat mode failed to launch!]
[Paradise Defense Protocol activated… Guardian dragons incapacitated. Defense Protocol failed!]
With alarms blaring, the two AI professors could only look to August.
August waved them off, signaling for patience.
Then, narrowing his eyes, he stared at the Time Machine.
A radiant light exploded forth—far brighter than when Flutter Mane had appeared—and from that blinding brilliance, a Pokémon stepped out.
Everyone stared, eyes wide, especially Gary and Suicune, who were utterly dumbfounded.
“That’s…!”
