Pokémon: My Titles Know No Limits! [430]

[Giovanni]: What should I do next? Should I capture these Stunky?

Another message from Giovanni appeared.

August couldn’t help but admire Giovanni’s spirit. The first thing the man thought after waking up from being knocked out by the stench was capturing the very Pokémon that did him in.

How should I reply…?

“Let me handle it!” Sabrina eagerly volunteered.

“No way,” August firmly refused her. Just look at what you already did to Giovanni!

[GardevoirSupremacy]: You can catch one, then keep moving. Avoid wild Pokémon if possible, find a populated area, and contact me once you have your location.

[Giovanni]: Understood.

Watching their exchange, Sabrina muttered discontentedly, “You promised to let me play for a whole day…”

August immediately retorted mercilessly, “A whole day? Giovanni would lose half his life if I let you handle it any longer.”

Giovanni was currently their undercover agent in Team Rocket!

August looked up suddenly. Gary and Zinnia quickly averted their eyes, pretending not to be eavesdropping.

Ignoring them, August got up and headed toward the basement.

Once August left, Gary tried to maintain his dignity, but Zinnia immediately rushed to Sabrina’s side like a Heracross spotting a Bulbasaur.

“Sabrina, Sabrina! What exactly was that just now?”

Gary also leaned in slightly, ears perked up.

It wasn’t that he liked gossip—it was just that August mentioning "Giovanni" and "half-dead" in the same sentence was too intriguing to ignore.

Under their expectant gazes, Sabrina smiled faintly and teased, “Take a guess.”

Both Zinnia and Gary’s expressions instantly froze.

Embarrassed, Zinnia tried to hug Sabrina in retaliation, but Sabrina teleported gracefully away, reappearing beside Cogita.

Zinnia, missing her target completely, crashed headfirst onto the carpet—directly into Mareep, who was napping peacefully.

Startled awake, Flaffy instinctively unleashed a shock from its wool.

“Baa—!”

Zap!

Hair frizzing, smoke puffing from her mouth, Zinnia lay paralyzed until a Chansey and Clefable arrived with a stretcher, carrying her off to the infirmary.

Meanwhile, Sabrina sipped tea elegantly, chatting pleasantly with Cogita.

Gary: “…”

Sabrina was just as cunning as August!

...

The moment August entered the basement, he immediately drew everyone’s attention again.

“August!” Matori glared fiercely.

Ever since she heard from August that Giovanni had disappeared, worry had consumed her. Unable to eat or sleep properly, she’d even lost a few strands of hair—her mind fixated solely on Giovanni’s wellbeing.

August ignored Matori’s hostile gaze entirely; it wasn’t new anyway.

Could Matori really cause trouble in his prison?

Smiling calmly at her fierce expression, August greeted each prisoner casually, eventually stopping in front of Cyrus.

Cyrus remained as expressionless as ever, eyes blankly fixed forward. If not for his occasional blinking, August might’ve suspected he was already dead.

“So, have you considered my proposal?” August asked.

Before leaving for Paldea, he’d given Cyrus an opportunity for redemption: traveling to Hisui to meet his ancestors.

Now was the time for Cyrus’ answer.

After careful consideration, Cyrus nodded slowly. “I'll go to Hisui.”

“Say it louder. You call that enthusiasm?” August teased, attempting to joke around as usual.

Cyrus merely stared at him blankly.

Just as the awkward silence started to spread through the basement, Cyrus suddenly raised his voice sharply: “I’ll go to Hisui!”

August froze, genuinely startled. Wait, you actually shouted…?

Pulling a black phone—distinct from the International Police’s standard white model—from his pocket, August tossed it to Cyrus, who caught it silently.

“It’s specially modified. You can only contact me with this,” August explained, taking out his own phone, quickly responding to another question from Giovanni, then sending Cyrus an invitation through the Wooloo app.

[August has invited you to Hisui in 13 days. Click here [Accept Invitation] to join August and his friends at the Hisui Summer Battle Camp!]

Cyrus frowned slightly, uncertain what August was playing at, but tapped "Accept" anyway.

Suddenly, Maxie and Archie called out eagerly from nearby.

“August, give us a chance, too! Maybe we have ancestors in Hisui! We can reform!” Archie pleaded.

“Archie’s right!” Maxie chimed in enthusiastically.

“You really don’t,” August stated bluntly.

Maxie stared hopefully. “Maybe… just a bit?”

“Nope,” August shook his head decisively.

He could feel their desperation to switch sides clearly. But, unfortunately, reality was reality.

August prided himself on honesty—it certainly wasn’t because these two were completely useless and he didn’t want to waste his valuable invitations on them.

As August turned to leave, Matori called out urgently.

“Wait!”

August stopped. “What now?”

“Save Giovanni. I'll give you any intel you want,” Matori said slowly, determination etched into her face. Clearly, she'd undergone intense inner struggle.

Betraying Team Rocket for Giovanni’s safety sounded absurd, but to loyalists like Matori, Team Rocket itself existed solely due to Giovanni. The team’s core had always been Giovanni alone.

As long as Giovanni survived, even if Team Rocket collapsed, she had no doubt he could rebuild it.

August looked at Matori curiously. “Really, any intel?”

“Anything.”

“Let’s test that… Give me Giovanni’s bank account and password.”

Matori hesitated, exchanging glances with Ariana, before reluctantly reciting a series of numbers.

August verified through official channels—it was actually real.

Casually forwarding the information to Silver, August’s gaze toward Matori turned noticeably friendlier.

“Relax. I'll ensure Giovanni’s safety,” August promised confidently.

“Swear it,” Matori insisted suspiciously.

“Okay, I swear—if Giovanni gets hurt, let Mew gain ten pounds.”

Mew, invisible on August’s shoulder, jerked awake, staring at him in disbelief.

Why does your promise involve me?!

Watching Mew biting and clawing at August furiously, Matori seemed unsure, but eventually accepted his odd oath.

“I hope you keep your word.”

“Of course.”

Giovanni was, after all, their undercover asset now. Even without this deal, August wouldn’t let harm befall him.

But Matori, unaware of this, continued dreaming about Giovanni returning heroically to rescue her from captivity.

...

Returning upstairs, August immediately saw Blue and Akari’s group stumbling inside, laden with countless shopping bags.

“What… is all this?” August twitched slightly.

Did they raid an entire department store? Even Blastoise’s cannons were loaded with bags!

“How much did you buy?” he asked incredulously.

Blue blushed sheepishly. “Erika was just way too generous…”

August sighed.

Well… Erika is the heiress of Celadon City. This amount probably means nothing to her.

“I got you a gift!” Blue announced cheerfully.

“For me?” August asked curiously.

Blue rummaged briefly, producing a sleek pair of gloves. “Silph Co.’s newest invention. You preset a gesture, and the corresponding Poké Ball automatically flies into your hand, saving time!”

August tested it immediately. With a simple gesture, a Poké Ball instantly zipped into his grasp. Indeed, it was very convenient.

“And one for Gardevoir!” Blue offered Gardevoir a beautiful scarf.

Accepting it, Gardevoir nodded gratefully, her eyes sparkling with delight.

Eevee received a cute hairpin—though it ended up clipped onto its fluffy neck fur instead, Eevee bounced around happily.

For Lugia Jr., Blue brought a handy storage box—perfect for storing molted feathers.

“Mew?” Mew gazed at Blue expectantly.

Blue feigned confusion at first, letting Mew’s eyes grow teary, before finally revealing a delicate bell.

August gasped, astonished. “A [Soothe Bell]?”

Unlike common items like [Charcoal] or [Leftovers], Soothe Bells were extremely rare, prized for enhancing the bond between Pokémon and trainers.

Blue grinned mischievously. “Found it at an antique stall—only 10,000 Pokédollars!”

August shook his head in admiration. As expected of Blue!

Learning how special the bell was, Mew happily tied it around her neck. Its gentle chime instantly soothed the room’s atmosphere.

Watching Mew joyfully dancing around, August chuckled inwardly—Mew clearly hadn’t realized that the bell would forever ruin her ability to prank people unnoticed.

Once the bags were finally handed off to Indeedee, the conversation turned toward August’s Paldea adventure.

“Everything’s settled with Clavell,” August explained. “Plus, I gained something unexpected.”

He released two Poké Balls. Koraidon and Miraidon appeared.

“What are they…?” Blue asked curiously.

“Koraidon and Miraidon—Paradox Pokémon from Paldea. Legendary Pokémon, sort of,” August clarified casually.

Miraidon ignored the comment, but Koraidon immediately growled indignantly. What do you mean, sort of?! We ARE legendary Pokémon!

August held up a calming hand. “Easy there. Tell me, what legendary Pokémon gets cornered by a pack of Houndour?”

Koraidon fell silent, sinking into embarrassment.

Outside, Suicune—watching Psyduck and Slowbro practice diving—sneezed suddenly, looking around in confusion.

Meanwhile, Akari and her friends gasped at August’s tales about AI Sada and Turo.

“Technology has advanced that far?” Akari murmured in awe.

In Hisui, even regular robots were unimaginable. Modern inventions always astonished her.

Wrapping up, August turned to Akari’s group. “Soon, I'm organizing a Hisui Summer Camp. I might bring guests to Hisui—I'll need your help.”

Not just Nemona and Cyrus—August planned to finally invite trainers like Bea and Ash, fulfilling his previous promise. Especially Ash, who’d soon compete in the Silver Conference—it’d be perfect training.

Akari and the others eagerly nodded.

Suddenly, August’s phone buzzed.

[NotALady]: August-san, I'm almost in Kanto. Can you send me your address?

Platinum’s coming to Kanto?

Surprised, August glanced up at Akari.

“August-san… something on my face?” Akari asked nervously.

“No, nothing,” August smiled mysteriously. “Your descendant’s coming to visit.”

“My… descendant?” Akari’s face flushed scarlet, steam practically rising from her head. “August-san, please be serious!”
